A cross bow with a hand carved base (or whatever the wood part is called... forgive my ignorance) for 20 dollars. It was origionally a lot more than that, but the merchant gave it to me for 20 in exchange for a hug. Teehee!!

I only had to pay about $70 for my intire set of armor for heavy fighting. I get tankard for about $2 at value village >_>; I also got my fencing helmet for free and my rapier for $120 I might get a crossbow for dirt cheep or free... when I "graduate" out of my thralldom.

I'm getting a handmade rattan bow for free... because my boy was asked to do a workshop on making rattan bows (as he'd made his own & although it wasn't the best, everyone wanted to learn how to make one) & he doesn't really do archery, he does heavy, so the bow he'll make in the workshop will be for me!
Also, not mine, but a guy at Rowany Festival '05 had his 900ml horn filled with Cider for AU$2.50 (approx US$1.96) every time he got it filled up (the tavern was selling cider for $1.50 - $2.50 depending on the size of your cup...). I don't know of anywhere else on the planet that sells alcohol cheaper than that!

My friend, Commander Kincade McComyn of the Green Knees found an authentic o-tonto wakasashi, bamboo peg, mushini pictagrams, LEATHER WRAPED handle, etc. etc. etc.
$20... gonk
Thats like a $1200 item! >.< He got it appraised at one of those "road show" places and damn near pissed himself when he found out.
