So, I was just wondering what is your favorite song that The Cure did but was covered by another band.

sweatdrop Tainted love was by soft cell, and was originally done by some R & B motown woman or something.
as for actual Cure covers, um i like AFI's version of Hanging Garden..
as for songs that the Cure themselves covered:
I like their vesrions of the Doors Hello I Love You and Depeche Mode's World In My Eyes better than the originals!

Yeah sorry, the Cure never did Tainted Love. There's lots of copies floating around out there that say that they we;re by certain groups bu they really were'nt. There's even a copy that is said to be the Ramones, but it clearly isn't. I really like the cover that the Cure did of Hello I love you, becasue I love the Doors too. I really like AFI's cover of Just Like Heaven by the Cure, the live preformance was very good.

Im not sure how many of you know of Voltaire. But he's done quite a lovely cover of Lovesong. I actually like it equally as much as the original. Then again, I love both Lovesong AND Voltaire, so I might be a bit biased....you should give it a listen.

(P.S. Voltaire, generally, is a gothic novelty artist, thats really an understatement. He's really cool, and "novelty" makes it sound cheesy...so lets just say his stuff is usually funny and spooky...but he did an album of serious songs, and he covered Lovesong on this album.)

@Elliot: Honest mistake, I'm sure we've all made it ^_^

@Morrigan: I think I've heard that cover, but I'm not sure if its the same one that I'm thjinking of, but if it is I really like it ^_^

I like A Perfect Cirlce's take on "Love Song", melded with Ozzy Osbourne's "Diary of a Madman". It's a more fast paced version of the song, and it works pretty well.
