User Image A stale breeze moved slowly across the dry lands, causing the high grass to part slightly near a small tree. A dark blue form laid curled up under the shade. Black circles surrounded her closed eyes, but the steady twitch of her black tail tip showed she was indeed awake. The sun was at it's highest point and there was no point in hunting when little water was available for the herd animals to gather. Food was going to get harder if this dry spell didn't let up.

A sound in the distance caught her acute hearing and she lifted her head in the direction it came from. Her black nose sniffed at the air for a scent, but the wind had died down and there was nothing but her own to meet it. So she lounged and waited for them to approach her.

The soft crunch of the dying grass was his only companion. As he slowly made his way through the sweltering heat. Panting lightly, dispite his light colored fur. The misplaced Pridelander paused. Someone was nearby. Sniffing into the still air, he tried to find them. Finally after several long moments, Kijito managed to spot a figure under a tree.

He finally drew close enough for her nose to pick up, other scents clung to his fur stating to her where he came from. She made to sit up, curling her blue tail before blue and white toes. So the day might not be at a loss after all. "Greetings, young one. Coming to share in my shade?" Her light teal eyes never looked directly at him and had a glazed look to them.

Kijito studied her for a long moment, taking in the glazed look in her eyes. Ignoring the instinct which told him to not trust her, he headed for the shade. Telling himself that he was only staying for a moment. Cocking his head slightly to the left, Kijito entered the shade. Settling on his hunches, he studied the blue furred female curiously.

She nearly purred in satisfaction at the slight hesistation he gave off to her senses. She beat her black tip tail to a steady beat in her head. She would give him a good reason to fear her and not trust so willingly those that had a silver tongue. The silence was something she was all to used to and she kept quiet, waiting for him to make the first move.

[xD he's mute]

Kijito frowned slightly, watching her every move. Flicking his left ear in time with her tail, he blinked. Letting out a yawn, Kijito continued to study the female. His curiousity piqued. Shaking his mane slightly, Kijito relaxed slightly.

She couldn't help but smile when she noted he said very little. Maybe she could stirr up some anger in this one by hitting a very sore subject. It was a matter of finding it first. "Cat got your tongue," she asked with a wicked grin.

Oh this was indeed going to be fun.
"You're a pridelander, correct? I could smell it on your fur you know. I've heard some... troubling news about that area." She acted like it was truely a terrible thing on her mind. She didn't care either way if the great king was alive or dead, but she played the part with exagerrated sorrow. "A terrible thing for the king to die."

Kijito froze, his eyes widening slightly as his mind comprehended what she had just stated. His father was dead? No that had to be a lie. His family would have found him and gotten word. He wouldn't have learned from some stranger. Letting out a soft growl, he disagreed with her. Convinced that she was lying about his father's death. It was at times like this he wished he could speak.

Uma nodded her head, as if acting like he was agreeing with her that it was a terrible deed. "Yes. Murdered is the word that is being whispered about. A terrible deed for one so... young to die. Leaving his whole family, his whole kingdom in the paws of his queen." She clicked her tongue in a tsking manner, shaking her head solemnly. "Terrible. Terrible indeed."

Kijito's eyes grew hard, had he been able to speak he would probably be yelling at this female. What right did she have to say these things!? Baring his fangs, he let out a loud snarl. Warning her to shut up or he wouldn't be held accountable for his actions.

She looked shocked on the outside, but on the inside she was purring with delight. That snarl sounded very angry. Good. That was her mission after all, wasn't it? Now the next step was to make sure she didn't end up in a fisticuffs with this enraged male. "Now now. Temper, temper. I wouldn't pull up some lie just for you to chew on. As you can see with your own eyes, the world is falling apart. No rain has touched the ground for many days. Things are getting bad in the realm we know. Why would I find something false to make things even worse than they already are?"

Kijito's anger remained, glaring at the female. His tail flicked angerily as he sat there. Silent as always, not that he could reply if he wanted to. Yes he knew it hadn't rained in many days but he had faith that it would get better. It always had and this time he was sure.

She didn't know if this lion was just part of the pride or something higher. Even she couldn't tell that with what she had picked up from his temper. It didn't matter either way. She didn't like others staying around her too much and often found pleasure in making them angry and driving them away. And her other favorite was raining on some else's parade.

"Bloodines will start to die soon. Most aren't allowing families to be started while there are no rains. Perhaps this is the end of it all. And all will never fulfill the life that they dream. Pity." She turned her nose to the sky and sniffed at the air. "Perhaps... your family doesn't even know if you live with how terrible the weather has been. The plague did the same thing and left it's mark on all."

Kijito snorted softly at her words. He already knew that his family had no idea of how he was. Cocking his head to one side, he tried to figure out how to put his input into the conversation. His glare abated slightly as he continued to watch the female. His eyes losing their anger, what she was saying made a bit of sense to him. The other prides were dying out and new ones were forming from what he had heard on the wind.

Even though she usually enjoyed hearing herself talk, she couldn't help but think that this was a case of the deaf leading the blind. Uma didn't like it when people lost their anger, but perhaps Monifa would have better luck.

She moved from her spot, curling around the male lion she had just met.
"Too bad you can't show how well you did on your own. No family to bring to the homecoming. Such a pity," she purred, brushing her tail beneath his nose.
