Imena leapt over one of the many crumpled ruins that lay about the grounds, burning off energy that never seemed to leave her. Sleep, she craved it, craving what lay beyond it, the world she loved and the world she always left behind. Her ears twitched and she pounded against the hard earth beneath her paws and hooves, her breathing smooth and steady, much to her dismay.
She had left Ashura to go on her nightly escipade, she didn't want to disturb him further. He took care of her enough already, he needed rest anyway. Slowing she made her way to the fountain, running may not make her very tired, but it did may her thirsty.

Gustave lay comfortabley in a patch of wild flowers in the garden. He was hidden frmo others, inbetween a few large ferns and the fountain at the center. Usually, he would slink about the Temple awaiting the fog to settle before comming here to bask in it, but for some reason, he didn't feel like being feline and balancing on little outcrops tonight. Instead, he had opted to sit and think by the cool waters of the fountain, alone and pleasantly happy. His mind was on the topic of mates, most particularly a possible mate. Having spent the previous night with her, he was completely under her ghostly spell.
The male's revere was broken by an intruder in the garden. Lifting his head from his bed of flowers, he spotted a stunning Maluess drinking on the opposite side of the fountain. Had he not just been thinking of Midori, he would have been tempted to court the beauty he was graced to see. Instead, he'd stick to just meeting her, perhaps blossoming a friendship as he had never met her before. "Hello, there, m'lady."

Imena was taking another drink from the fountain when another voice interrupted her, she jerked her head back and coughed, the water had begun to go the wrong way. She coughed again, throat and nose burning and jerked her head in the direction of the voice, "What was that for?" She croaked, staring at the male with her brilliant blue eyes. She stopped abruptly and straightened, embarrased. She had never met another male besides Ashura before and as such, didn't know how to react to such.
Her heart beat rapidly in her chest as she thought franticall of what to do. "Oh! Um...I-I'm sorry. You startled me." She stammered, taking a step back. What was she to do? Run? Running was a good idea, but she didn't know if he would follow her or not, which would just make things more complicated then they already were. "I....I didn't mean to intrude...." She murmured, watching the winged male with wide eyes. He was truly a fine specimen, his colors remeinding her of fog and clouds, both of which she loved. A faint blush rose on her cheeks. Oh dear...

At the female's sputtering, Gustave made a move to go to her rescue. He only made it half way around the fountain, however, as she had saved herself from certain death by drowning. Her uncomfortable flashes of emotions uneased the male a bit, for he rarely dealt with unsocialized beings. He figured he'd take the conversation slowly and smoothley, as she was obviousley distressed and sure as heck didn't need any sudden bursts of energy or movements. Sitting down as to not be so threateningly tall, he attempted to eas her. "Woah, woah, it's okay. You aren't intruding." He smiled broadley, adjusting his wings. "I'm sorry to have startled you."
Taking it one step at a time, he gave the female a few moments before supplying his name. "I am Gustave, m'lady." He dipped his head lightly, antlers brushing the ferns. He wouldn't ask her for her name, as she was obviousley already a nervous wreck. He decided he'd allow her to offer her name if she wished it, but would not ask for it before then.

Imena shook her head, horribly embarrased, "No, no, it's my fault," She replied hastily, "I should have watched where I was," She spluttered, sure her blush was evident for a mile. He must think I'm an idiot. Her body shook a bit but she conciously forced herself to stop. Shaking would make things worse.
"Oh...A pleasure to meet you, Gustave." She bobbed her head, this wasn't going well at all! Why was she acting like such a fool, "I-I'm sorry about this," She stammered, avoiding his eyes, "I-I must look like such a fool, yes?" She didn't need an answer, he was probably laughing at her in his head, "I'm Imena."

ooc :: x__x sorry this took so long. i was typing it at the same time as a trivia event.
This female was far too unconfident. It was unsettling. "No no, it was my fault. I popped up out of no where on you." He nodded firmly, as if to say that was his final word on the matter. His sternness with the comment, however, quickly melted to a kind, gentle persona, however, and he smiled again. "You aren't a fool, Imena. Don't worry about it." The poor girl's uneasiness was rather distressing, and Gustave had to wonder if she had a bad upbringing. Voicing such a thing, however, didn't sound like a very could idea, so he just kept the idea to himself.
Taking the silence to observe his guest, he sat back and examined the markings on her sides. The spots were unique, almost glowing, nothing like he had ever seen before. She was one that would not be easy to loose in the dense fogs he loved so much. "Are you from the Temple, Imena? I've never seen you before."

Imena gave an uneasy smile, "Alright..." She conceded to the firmness of his statement and a faint chuckle escaped her lips, "It's just....I've only been with Ash so....'ve never really met another malu..." She explained hastily, having a desire to explain this to him. She cocked her ears and glanced at him, the blush still clingning to her cheeks, "Ah...I don't know actually." She replied, "I've been here since I was a baby, but I've never really known where I'm from. So I guess....I am from the temple?" She mentally smacked herself, both for her answer and her actions. Why was she acting this way? She never did this around Ash. But Ash is like a father, murmured a voice, And Gustave....is clearly not. She shook her head, silencing the voice.
"And you?" She replied softly, "Are you from the Temple?" Probably not, Imena had explored the Temple many-a-time in her attempts to tire herself out through exercise. She knew much about the Temple and had at least seen, many of the malu that resided here.

Gustave supposed it was possible to not know where one was from, though he was certain he knew precisely of his own origins. His parents were deom the northeast, somewhere where they spoke in different tongues. An ellegant language, his parents had spoken. It slurred and swayed like the wisps of fog. He, however, was not from that region. He had been born here at the Temple, one of two pups in his parent's only litter. His twin sister had left the area with her parents when they were juveniles, and he had stayed here. With the fogs. Thinking over days long gone, his eyes misted over as if he were someplace far away from there, drifting in a cloud or floating in the sea. "I, too, am from the Temple." He nodded, not wanting to bore her with his family history and shortening it greatly.
"Do you like the gardens, Imena?" Gustave's voice had become dreamy as he cast his glance about the plants.

Imena blinked at him in surprise. He had been from the Temple? Then why had she never seen him? Her ears twitched at the next question. The gardens...ah, she remembered them. Especially the times when she had been scolded for messing them up, and had to go fix it. She gave a lopsided smile, "Yes, I guess I do, though having to put flowers back where they were originally isn't so much fun," Unconciously, she was relaxing in the males presence, though had she known of it, she woulkd have been as tense as a board. She glanced at him again, not wanting to seem obvious that she was looking at him curiously.
"Why do you ask?" She commented absently, her mind drifting a bit. She was reminded about her energy. She still had far too much left over, and she wouldn't get to sleep anytime soon that way.

Reading confusion in her eyes, Gustave straightened for an explination. "Let me clarify. I was born and raised here at the Temple, but I am nocturnal. I'm rarely out in the daylight, actually. Usually, I sleep when no one is home at the Nature Pack, save for the few other nocturnals there." He paused for a moment to take a sip from the cool fountain. Not too cool, as that would have pained his stomach, but cool enough that it was tastey. "And when I am running about the Temple every night, I shelter in the fog. Deadly things come out to play when the sun goes down, and I really don't feel like dealing with them. The fog is my sanctuary." He smiled and pawed at a flower absently, flitting his wings a bit for thier lack of movement.
At the next question, he looked about him again, looked about at all the little plants and native garden ife. "Well, I don't know. I guess I just had it on the mind. It really is a nice place..."

Imena narrowed her eyes, inside she knew he had meant no offense but something inside took offense to his statement. "I see," Her murmured, her tone becoming distinctly more icy, "I should have seen you though, for I walk in the night as well," She watched him as his drank and raised her head in a haughtish look, "Fog..." She murmured, eyes half-lidded. Fog? Why...why did that stirr something inside her? Something painful and something that shouldn't be revealed. She shook her head, "Pardon me," She said softly, "Perhaps you could take me with you on one of your adventure through the fog?" She suggested softly, watching him.

The tone in the female's voice concerned him, and greatly confused him. He looked at her perplexed for a moment, unsure of how to respond to her cold statement. What had he said that had made her take offense? He hadn't a clue. Instead of digging through their conversation, he tried to make ammends byt continuing his kindly attitude. "Really? I suppose I've never seen you as I stay in the fog. And my coat blends with it quite well, so few have seen me slinking about." He paused, wondering if she should warn her of the things that go bump in the night, but he was sure she knew. "There are vicious ones out late, aren't there? I tend to keep away from them. I don't deal with their dark deeds, as I'm sure you do not either." Such a pleasant maluess surely had nothing to do with those who were so evil and dangerous.
Why fog had had such an effect on her, Gustave would surely never know. It was a curious thing, really, but he didn't delve into the matter, giving her the freedom to bring it up if she really wanted to, or leave it lost to him for as long as she pleased. He wasn't pushy by nature, and tonight was no night to start, right? "Surely, if you'd like. It's never really all that exciting, though. I simpley enjoy it because I always have, and, as a maluess has so wisely told me, the mist is just an extension of my god. I follow the god of fog, you see." He smiled and nodded proudley.

Imena nodded absently, not really paying attention to what he was saying, she was already past it anyway. She twitched an ear in his direction as he spoke of creatures of the night. "Indeed...." She replied softly, she had encountered them on her many treks about the Temple, most had been...unpleasant and she had carefully watched Asha deal with them when she had been younger and had learned well from him. "It is curious though.....why they would choose such a life...." She shook her head and smiled at him, "I'm rambling and I apologize."
She nodded slowly, "I would, indeed. Ashura is pleasant company but....you get tired of the same people after a while, right?" She was lying, she'd never get tired of Ashura, but there was something about fog that disturbed her and she needed to deal with it alone. Ashura needed his own life and she needed hers, "The god of fog?" She commented, latching onto that subject, "You and I are alike then," She smiled warmly, "I follow the Goddess of Dreams and my dreams..." She shook her head, "Ah, you porbably wouldn't care about that now, would you?" She chuckled and dismissed it.
She shouldn't talk to him like that, she sense that he wasn't interested in getting very intimate with her. Someone else was in his life and though they could be good friends, she shouldn't share something lke that with him for a while, until they were really friends. Now they were just acquantinces.

"Rambling is perfectly okay, Imena. No problem with it at all." He smiled, trying to get the female more confident in herself and comfortable with him. It was a tad unsettling how she kept apologizing for things said and kept changing her mind. He let it go, though, and looked over his shoulder at a sound. Dismissing it as nothing more than a bug, he turned back to the gorgeous female with a smile. "Dreams and fog are alike in some ways, yes." He nodded, and let her drop the topic on her own. "I wouldn't mind listening, but perhaps another time?" He really did want a friendship with this female, as he rarely met a nocturnal malu that he liked. She was a rarity to him, and an alliance or companionship of some kind could be quite benificial. She seemed to need time to get to know him, however, and he respected that. He was, after all, nocturnal, and could very well be like those beasites outside the garden haven for all she knew. "When the fog settles in tonight, I'll take you on a stroll through it. It's quite calming, really, even for someone who does not follow my god." He smiled patiently.

Imena nodded, "Of course," She replied, and moved a bit away from him, "That would be very nice....but I'll have to see," She grinned faintly, "Sometimes my goddess wishes for me to spend time with her." Energy lanced down her her muscles and her eyes sparkled, "I apologize, but I must go." She glanced at the sun, only noon, good. "Well talk again then?" She bobbed her head, the energy lancing down again, she needed to run or she joking thought she would explode with energy.
