I think The Beatles are one of the greatest bands of all times. In fact, I'll bet they'd win if the all-mighty Led Zeppelin wouldn't crush them like an ant under a fat man at a movie theater.

The Monkees are pretty good, but the Beatles would be a whole lot better than the Monkees. It's like the Rolling Stones and the Kinks... Rolling Stones of course!!! They have a similar sound but you just have to agree that the Beatles have more of an original sound in each and every one of their songs!

*sigh*
As much as I love the Monkees (huge fan of the show when I was a lil one), I have to agree that I prefer listening to the Beatles. I like more of their songs then I do of the Monkees.
Though I will certainly listen to "Daydream Believer" whenever I darn well feel like it. razz

How in the WORLD does this relate to the Stones vs. the Kinks? Were they ever a rivalry? Because if they were, I had no idea.
Anyways.
Most definitely the Beatles.

Hmmmm....Let's see who can....
...Play their instruments? ...Write their songs? ...Maintain their career after 30 odd years? ...have an airport named after one of their members? ...not be an american copy of a great band from a great city?
s**t, I can't decide.

What kind of competition is this? The Beatles, in their eight year or so long career, became the most popular band in the world! And after all that time, they still top the sales list of top selling groups (and Led Zeppelin, the runner-up, isn't even close to them). So yeah, I like the Beatles better.

Popularity doesn't = quality. The Beatles do rule, though.

I'm going with the popular choice. The Monkees tv show really gets annoying when you have to watch it so often.
