[Madeline - 50% Tree Kangaroo]

Life was simple for Madeline. After her latest changes, she found that nothing more than a large comfortable tree was enough to make her day. Today was no different, and she decided to walk the familiar path from her duplex to the tree she had "claimed". Its branches spread out over a soothing creek and the noise was quick to put her to sleep. She deftly climbed the branches and snuggled in for a mid-afternoon nap in the sun.

[Charlie 100% Clownfish]

Charlie sighed at the relaxing atmosphere of the creek as he lay in the shallow waters of the creek. He had been lounging in the water for a long while as he calmed his now fully formed, still aching gills. Soon, he had heard the sound of the trees surrounding him rustle, and he instantly leaped up on his flimsy, but somewhat working legs. "H-hello?" He asked, looking around and hoping his imagination was running wild.

[Autumn Chandler, 25%, Grey Kangaroo]

Autumn had wandered into the jungle, mostly to get away from people & have a change in scenery.

It hadn't been long since her first change; it had only been a few days. It wasn't anything too major. Her ears had become pointed, a few spots of grey-ish fur appeared on her arms & legs.. Her fingernails appeared more claw-like, & her toenails had become the same way, prompting her to wear sandals for the time being. A small little stubby tail had also started to grow. If anything, Autumn was just glad she wasn't growing scales.

The changes were still enough to make her feel a bit self-concious about herself, even though the same thing was happening to everyone. Her body no longer hurt from the changes, although she still felt slightly sore.

As she wandered along, she stumbled across a little stream. Not noticing the sleeping figure above, she sat down along the edge & sighed.

Upon hearing someone speak, she noticed someone else at the stream.. Someone.. Orange? She wasn't sitting close enough to fully see, but he didn't seem like he was lucky enough to grow fur.

[Bing- 100% Corsac Fox, nonmorphic. Huzzah for experimenting with new but oh-so-similar animals!]

Where the sand of the beach ended and the trees of the jungle began, where the stream met the sandy grass, Bing was there.

And he was burrowing like crazy.

It was more of a necessity than an actual instinct, considering the fact that he couldn't reach his duplex's doorknob, let alone open the door himself. He's been at it all week, only taking a few breaks to catch some lunch and fool around. Dozens of holes were dug up around the sandy clearing of the place, the placement of the holes were random, but they were part of a intracate tunnel system underneath the ground, all of it organized. At least, all in Bing's mind.

This was a product of not only from necessity, but also from the feeling of boredom taking him lately.

His ears pricked up slowly from one of the holes, moving around before he crawled out. Bing shook off some of the dirt from his body and looked down on his masterpiece.

Finally done.

Madeline's ears perked at the sounds of footsteps below her tree, but she was far too comfortable to devote much more attention than that. Her clawed fingers scratched lazily at the folds of what would eventually become her pouch and the careful observer would see her long cylindrical tail fall from the foliage and sway slightly in the breeze. She was now completely awake and alert, but maintained a relaxed posture, one eye opening in an attempt to view her surroundings.

Charlie shivered, he knew that he was no longer alone now. As his slimy feet groped for a ground that would keep them still, he scanned the area, somehow able to just a little with his queer eyes that gave his veiw a pshycadelic contrast. His gills ached as he adjusted to breathing in air, but his feet soon slipped on a smooth rock, sending him back to the cool waters. "GAH!" He managed to squeal as he fell.

Autumn just watched as the stranger tried to step onto land, but fell back into the water. As far as she could tell, he was some sort of a fish.. A clownfish, by the looks of it.

Seeing the fish-man made her mind quickly think, Be happy that you're turning into something furry, & not a fish.

She didn't say anything or do anything, except just looked up at the trees. It was only then that she noticed someone else lounging about in the trees, startling her at first. She couldn't quite figure out what it was this person was changing into, but it seemed that the girl had lucked out, if that was even possible, as well & didn't have the misfortune to turn into a lizard or a fish.

Autumn finally decided to be the one to speak up & finally say something. "Um.. Hello?" Her voice was somewhat quiet.

Where did everybody come from?

Bing's ears flicked this way and that, listening to the sounds of life in the forest. The splashing, the walking, the sound of the wind rustling tails and other things.

How long have I been digging? He wondered to himself, wandering the forest.

He stopped and looked around, a sound in the trees caught his ear, he looked up in the canopy to see someone up there. Well, that was ethier a lazy spy, or an islander. Bing had his money on Islander.

"Hello?" He squeaked from the ground.

(Ryan - 50% Little Hairy Armadillo)

Ryan floated lazily down the river. He found, after his last change, in which his back had begun to bow out and harden into the plates of an armadillo, that while on his back in the water, he made an excellent boat. Well, maybe after his next change he would. As it was, the water covered his now hairy chest. He just floated better now was all.

He lay stretched out in the water, his head pointed downstream, while his legs pointed upstream. His armored tail, which was about a foot long, hung underneath him in the water, dragged towards his head by the current.

This floating down river, minus the horriffic changes to his body, was just like what he did as a little kid on camping trips, drifting down a river towards one of the great lakes. It seemed strange that he felt so calm and nostalgic. It must have been his armadillo side.

One of his large ears swiveled upon hearing splashing. He listened intently, but most likely it was an islander. He simply let the water carry him towards the sound.

Madeline had expected hearing one voice, an inevitability she'd hoped to avoid so as to carry on with her nap, but the three voices startled her out of sleepiness, especially since one had come from someone in obvious distress. She climbed down from her perch carefully and glanced at her visitors.

Autumn was the only one immediatly noticeable and Madeline squinted, trying to figure out what she was turning into.Anonymous mammal, she concluded. She didn't notice Bing right away, that is, until she stepped on his paw.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" she blurted, half hoping it was a real animal, but she'd had enough experience with jungle wildlife and nonmorphic Islanders to know better. "Did you guys here that shout from the water? I think someone might be hurt..."

Charlie whined at the once comfortable rocks now causing an extreme pain in his submerged back. "Crap, crap, crap!" He mumbled to himself under the water. He tried to stand up again, but it was no use- his individual legs now stiffening into only a tailfin. The fishy man groaned again.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 29, 2006 11:05 pm

"********!" Bing yelped, the pain on his small paws seemed almost to the point of crushing. The ringing curse settled down into a whimper as the little fox withdrew his paw, licking it a little to cool it down a little bit. It was the only thing he could do to nurse it.

"It's okay...." He said hastily, "It's okay...."

Autumn nearly jumped as someone else spoke up. She quickly looked around as someone else wandered over, a fox of some sort it looked like.

She turned around again as something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. Floating along in the water was another Islander. She wasn't sure what he was turning into, although an idea did come up in mind.

Autumn looked back at her clawed feet & wiggled her toes. She had mostly wandered out to the jungle in hopes that she could get some space to herself. A whole crowd had gathered here, it seemed.

She got up to her feet, & began to walk away, just as someone inquired about the shout. By then, she had already walked past a few trees & was possibly out of range of visibility to some. She hoped that no one would take offense to her leaving; she just wanted a little more time to herself.

The load cry of '********' was enough get Ryan to sit up in the water. He was having trouble with his new hearing, since things sounded louder and closer than what they actually were.

There was someone walking away, just then going out of sight. Whoever else was there, since he was sure he heard other voices, wasn't visable to him. Unable to see beyond a bend of a river, and unsure of how far away the shout came from, Ryan simply opted to shout his question out.

"Hey, whoever's there, are you okay?" It was loud enough to carry through the forest to the others, but they may not have been able to tell how far away he was, due to the distortion caused by the trees.

"I'm really, really sorry," Madeline was genuinely upset that she had hurt this fellow Islander. Though she was more comfortable with her changes, she had yet to get used to the new sizes of everything. She'd have to watch where she put her big feet, and pay more attention to those unfortunate enough to lose their ability to walk upright through their transformations.

Before Madeline really had a chance to introduce herself, the relatively unchanged girl had walked away. Madeline shrugged it off, she understood completely how uncomfortable the changes could make you, especially in a more social setting. The jungle certainly wasn't a place Madeline would have expected to make new friends.

A new sound from the water focused Madeline's attention once more on the cry she'd heard earlier and she ran to the water's edge, glancing once more back at the fox man.

"Hello?" she shouted out over the water.
