Setting: THE ISLAND WOOOOO!!! More specifically, the beach bar.
(Alan Murrow-25%)
Alan Murrow sat down, alone, at one of the stools in the tiki bar, touching his now-elfish ears in mute horror, the other hand gripped tightly around his glass of Diet Coke. He took some of his Vicodin as soon as his change had occured to help him get through the mind bending pain, but as he slowly became less numb to the world around him, he became aware of the various changes to his worn body--slightly larger teeth, bulky finger and toe nails, longer feet, the loss of some of his television-perfect hair, and, of course, his new ears.
He poured the remainder of the soda into his mouth and continued to stare off into the ocean, where the sun had just begun to set.

[N.American River Otter- 50%]
Colette sighed as she walked onto the beach from the ocean and then began to pad over to the bar, her feet falling softly on the sand. She qucikly shook out her fur before she picked up her bag and then continued to walk over.

Out in the ocean, just inside Alan's line of sight, a strange looking...fur thing...was walking out of the ocean and onto the beach.
He ignored the other islander as he slowly stood up and went behind the bar to pour himself a glass of water.

Colette fanned out her wiskers as she continued to walk over and was a bit surprised to see someone else at the bar. She thought a moment and then walked under the shade of the bar and ran a hand through her hair. Colette sat down on a seat and yawned.

Alan was looking down in the bar when the islander walked under the canopy, so he was unable to really get a good look at her. After fumbling around for a few minutes, causing the bottles of various spirits to clink together, until he found the second bottle of Diet Coke.
He placed it on the bar above him before getting up and seeing the islander sitting at the bar. Alan felt strangely, as if he had seen this strange fur-woman before.
He walked around her to take the seat at the opposite end of the bar.

Colette had waited untill he had been done with looking around before she walked back and got the idea that he really didn't care for her. She sighed and shook her head as she found the bottle of Oragina she was looking for. Colette easily poped off the cap on the bottle and then took a sip before she looked over at the guy.

Once again, Alan stared into the ocean, trying to ignore the other islander's presence. For a moment, he considered leaving and going back to his duplex, to be alone and to stew in his own thoughts and instanteously decided to.
He got up and wordlessly started to walk out of the bar, trying to pass the oh-so-familiar islander. As he passed, he lost his balance on his elongated feet before falling somewhat violently onto the islander in the seat.

Colette rasied an eyebrow and then managed not to laugh at his fall. "Are you all right?" she asked as she walked over to her chair and set her bottle down on the bar.

Alan looked up at the furry woman as she set her bottle down. As she spoke...her voice...her voice.
THAT GIRL!
Suddenly, Alan remembered. The girl from the bookstore...that strange girl...she was here too?
Oh, crap.
Alan looked at her with shock upon his face. "YOU?" he asked.

It took her a moment for things to click. "Ah... You," Colette said and then sighed. "Why did you have to be here?" She shook her head and then picked up her bottle again. "Yes?.. What's your point?" Colette asked and then finished off the bottle of oragina.

Alan grimaced...it was definitely the same girl.
"I could ask the same of you," he started, remembering the confrontation he had with her several months earlier. "Were you working for them?" Alan gestured up the island, towards the mountain and the labs.

She shook her head as a small frown formed on her face. "As if... Plus.. If I was why change me too?" Colette said as she picked up her bag and put the strap over a shoulder. "Duh.... Makes no sence.."

Alan was shocked--he was convinced that it was this girl, this mysterious girl, who had gotten him on the island in the first place.
"But...they could have...to silence you..." His words failed. He rubbed his pointed ear again, subconsiously.
"Who...are you?" Alan asked at last.

"If they wanted to silence me.. They would have probally killed me.. duh," She repiled and then placed the bottle in the recyeling bin. Colette brushed some hair out of her face and then looked over at him at his question. "Hmm... Colette...."

"Colette." Alan confirmed it with the sound of his own voice. "Don't say duh so much. It's a bad habit."
Alan got up and sat down on the barstool, shaking his hands to get the spilled Coke off of them. He was much less hostile now than in New York; the weeks at the island had "mellowed him out." That, and he wasn't exactly out of his Vicodin 'journey' yet.
