(((Remember, this is based on YOUR opinion, and no one will make fun of it)))
Way back when, about 50 years ago, when Kikyo shot Inuyasha to the tree, who do you think really killed her? Do you go with the story line and say it was Naraku? Do you think it was Inuyasha with short-term memory loss, or a demon puppet? Do you think it was an act of suicide? What's your thoughts on why Kikyo died?

I personally think it was herself and human nature that killed her.
Herself = Yes, she killed herself to be with the one she loved. Who wouldn't do that? He protected her, loved her back, and more. It was a huge drop when she pinned him to a tree, but I think it was worth it.
Human Nature = It's only human nature to fall in love. And love is a very distracting thing. If she hadn't fallen in love with Inuyasha, or wasn't so devoted to the love, she would have senced Naraku's aura. Plus, many people commit suicide to be with loved ones.
But this brings up another question: Why, if she was going to die, seal him to a tree instead of killing him? I know it had to go with the story line, but is there more to it than we think???

Well, my opinion is based on the story so...
Naraku, disguised as Inuyasha, was the one who fatally injured Kikyou. Kikyou then died as a result of those injuries. She could've saved herself by using the Shikon jewel, but chose not to, probably because she understood the consequences.
As for why she sealed him, rather than killing him, if we ignore the fact that it would be detrimental to the story otherwise, I would say that she could not bear to kill the one she loved.
But the story "Inuyasha" is full of weird plot devices that exist solely for the sake of story progression.

Indirectly, Naraku killed her by slashing her in Inuyasha's form but I think she killed herself as well as she could have saved herself with the sacred jewel, yet she didnt.
Yup I will refrain from writting a novel... ninja

I wouldn't say that Kikyou killed herself. I mean, if you needed a heart transplant but there weren't any donors, you could have someone killed and take their heart, but you wouldn't do that, and it doesn't mean you're killing yourself.
Like I said, the consequences of using the Jewel to save herself was simply out of the question for Kikyou, so she effectively had no way of surviving.

I just go with the storyline that Naraku killed her, but if you want to know the real answer, ask the author. xD

Why would Kikyou use the shikon jewel to heal herself?
It's not a magical wishing lamp. Although she and Inuyasha were going to use it to make him human, using the jewel to sustain her life, well, she wouldn't have wanted that. Kikyou never did want to come back from the dead in the first place. If she took the jewel with her to the other side, it was supposed to have been safe. It was for a very long time.
As for who killed her, what's wrong with the plot?
Onigumo messed up. He grew stronger with the demons that took over his body, creating this Naraku entity, but all those demons wished Kikyou dead. So, disguised as Inuyasha, Naraku ran up and killed her.
Why he chose to do it as Inuyasha, damned if I know. I didn't think he'd care that much about adding insult to injury, and I don't think Naraku would have known or cared about Inuyasha. Maybe it was because she was expecting Inuyasha and Naraku would have a better chance of creeping up... but then again, he came up pretty damn quick.
Naraku killed Kikyou; she wouldn't have wanted her little sister and village to go unprotected. I'm not sure, but perhaps to wish on the jewel and save herself would have been too selfish a wish? I don't know enough to say. sad I suppose Kikyou wanted to go naturally, not be on a borrowed life. If she's going to die, then that's her fate. But she could also take the jewel where no one could reach it since that was the case, and she did.
