Hey! Today is my first day of Winter Drumline!!! I'm actually a flute in band, but I also play the piano so they wanted me to join pit, since they needed more people.
I'm REALLY nervous. Any advice you could give me?

make sure you practice a little bit outside of practice. Ask for help as much as needed people may get frustrated that you keep asking for help but when your done playing the song the BD will compliment you not them. Dont ask your BD to turn DR. beat up....I have had many headaches because of that. good luck do you know what music you are playing yet?

Since it's pit.. make sure you don't point your index finger. XP Curl it in. It's a lot easier to play, plus you can play faster. x] Also, don't keep your elbows close to your body. Yikes. Not good. Also, you don't need to rely on only your arms. Move around! Rawr. Make sure your grip is tight, just not so tight that you can't move fluidly. It should be your falcrom that it's tightest, although I would suggest you don't hold on so tight that your thumbs turn white. Be relaxed. Don't forget to breathe.
=P Good luck!
