Come here and review anything.
Books, movies, CDs, people, armadillos, I don't care. I'll start off with a rant I put into one of my various angst filled blogs about the Decemberists new CD The Crane Wife.
Quote: I bought the Crane Wife by the Decemberists the other day, and I have to say that its not terrible however it also isn't wonderful. All in all its a very underwhelming CD, though maybe its one that will grow on me. However, in comparison to the last CD I bought, Yes, Virginia by the Dresden Dolls, it really just doesn't shine. Mainly because that CD is friggin' AWESOME. I'm slightly disappointed in you Decemberists. First you lose a guitar battle to Steven Colbert and Peter Frampton and then this, this Crane Wife album. Come now Decemberists I need you so I have my daily dose of Folk Rock. Don't disappoint me so. *sigh* However, I did download Billy Liar which made me remember that they Decemberists don't play only very slow and monotonous music, they are still my gods of Folk Rock.
Now please feel free to shun my feeble attempt at making conversation. 3nodding

I suppose it was one of those CDs I had to listen too more all alone with my ipod to really enjoy. The Crane Wife officially not the worst CD in the world.

I shall rant about a certain movie I just saw: Eragon.
It sucked and I didn't even read the book! Where was the character development? Why was every conversation so cliche? What the hell made Eragon so "worthy" ...?
They spent too much money on unneccesary effects and not enough on writers >:E
And what the hell are they doing making movies when the third book isn't even out yet?

The fact that they could come up with a movie that was more cliche than the story it originated from ASTOUNDS me. *shakes her head* I haven't even seen the movie, but it would seem that I don't want to anymore.... mrgreen

Even that was disappointing. I'm gonna read the book just to see if they add up... I figure all the "destiny" crap had to come from somewhere...

The "destiny crap" was in the book, alright. rolleyes If you think of every heroic cliche you can, about 80% of that is in the book. I still might be tempted to see it for the dragons, too. neutral But even those look like birds with strange bone structures from what I've seen in pics. Not really the traditional European style, like in the book....

And now Slim shall review the most recent movie she's watched. biggrin Quote: Yesterday, I saw The Producers for the first time. I must say, I'm VERY satisfied. While I'm never one to dislike a musical, this one in particular was fabulous! I found the music to be catchy, the acting to be perfect (with the exception of the guy that played Max....his voice just irked me. sweatdrop but that's not his fault....), and the comedy to be both old and fresh. 3nodding Why, I even laughed aloud a few times. It's just all-around good stuff, though there is some mature content (but I'm quite certain almost everyone here can watch it).
