Okay, so I was sitting around playing Final Fantasy III and I noticed that Cid is in it. Why is Cid in almost every Final Fantasy game?! What makes him so popular?? neutral

!!!!!!!!!!! That's like asking why is Bahumut, Chocobos, Bombs, Maloboros, an airship in almost everyone. Cid is the conerstone of final Fantasy games! He's been in every one since FF2. You can't really have a Final Fantasy game without him. Usually he's the one who is flying your ship, made your ship, owns your ship. I see nothing wrong with cid! Cid's awsome! And now! For your enjoyment. Line dancing Cids! Haha, nice picture. Yes, Final Fantasy has to have something in every game to let them call it a series. ^^

Indeed. Cid is like a Final Fantasy trademark. Along with a lot summons, foes, weapons, etc.

Every FF game has "three" things incommon: Cid, Airship, and Chocobo. Its allways bene that way. ps~ the line dancing Cids are awesome lol.

You all forgot that Moogles are also a Final Fantasy Trademark they appear in almost every Final Fantasy game

What makes him so popular?? neutral Its just a tradtion of FF. Just like there is always a Biggs or Wedge in a FF. Try looking for them and you'll notice them.

Cid doesnt appear in every game. He first appears in Final Fantasy 2j, as the... cranky but dependable airship pilot. Who would have guessed?
Heres a spoiler in bold: He dies.
I dont mind a Cid always appearing. As long as its a good charecters. Somebody should be shot for some Cids.
I like Cid(s). Because I like airships. A Cid who cant give me an airship, or an annoying Cid, is a bad charecter. Otherwise, I dont mind Cid's.
Finally, my opinion on Cids:
FF2 Cid: Viva la newness!
FF3 Cid: He's dead Jim. Until he comes back to life. Later in the game, he brings Desch back to life. Or reminds Desch he is alive. Or something.
FF4 Cid: Looks like FF3 Cid, but does stuff. I like.
FF5 Cid: Mid is Rad. Cid is not.
FF6 Cid: Useless. Utterly useless.
FF7 Cid: Sit down on your chair and drink your goddamed tea! Not a great Highwind, but a great charecter. But yeah, he does ruin the Highwind family a little lot...
FF8 Cid: No words, just vomit.
FF9 Cid: He's a bug that doesnt shut up. Yerk.

But it annoys me that Cidolfus is a bad guy in FF12. But oh well.. at least we got the prentencious Alcid!

Endyearth I do! But it annoys me that Cidolfus is a bad guy in FF12. But oh well.. at least we got the prentencious Alcid! Yeah, Cid being on the evil side was a big change. Although when I first saw him in the game I actually thought that he might help you in the end.(well I guess he does when you kill him and get a summon for it) I hope that the Cids aren't ruined anymore in XIII
