Asikari. King of the KusiniMwezi. A land he secretly thought to be dying, no matter how hard Ari had wanted it to live. Ari, his ari. He groaned slightly under his breath as his lifeless gaze remained poised over the river. He was seated on the hills, stiff and looking completely miserable. His tail flicked ever so slightly. How could he bring life back into this lands? Oh my ari... How could he bring life back into Ari?

He shut his eyes, bowing his head a moment. What should he think about? How should he be functioning? And those cubs! Those three little... poor... cubs.... How was he supposed to raise them? He was tired... so tired... He did not want this kingdom any longer. Everything was falling to pieces.

Umo made his way too his kingdom, a long journey when he did not want to leave Kika's side. She was due soon and even though he wanted to be there, he could not anyways. He was coming here on a mission... a sad one. He wanted to be with Kika eternally and that meant leaving this land and going to his new one, the swamps. He walked, his crimson eyes full of nervous tension. Though he was happy to have finnally have time to come to the Kusini Mwenzi, the home that helped him so much when he first began is life... and now he wanted to leave it. He enjoyed Asi's company and enjoyed coming here. He would still visit. This was home after all, even if he had only spent a short while there. So, with a light heart, he headed towards his Kings land.

As he neared the Mwenzi, he spotted a form upon the ground. He cocked his head. Was it Asi. After all this time, he as excited too see him... but upon closer inspection his king did not look pleased. Umo spoke. "Asi, is that you?

Asi's ears flickered, the only sign that he had heard Umo's words for a long time. He continued to stare at the river, his body still hunched. After a moment he turned his head slightly so that his gaze could catch sight of Umo. "Yes?"

Umo padded closer too Asi and already he could see the sorrow on Asi's frame. What sorrow and tragedy had taken place when he was away? Umo came closer too his king, his head cocked and confused. What was troubling his friend... "Asi... is something wrong?" He asked quickly. If someone was attacking the kingdom, he just may as well miss Kika's birthing. Even if it killed him.

"My dear Asi... you look horribly saddened today? I feel horribly for coming with what i Have on my mind... on his terrible day it seems." he said thoughtfully though respectfully to himself more than anything. He was here too ask for his leave, permanently... but he would not leave without his heart with Asi. No other male had Umo's complete trust. He looked to Asi as a friend and a lord... but seeing Asi like this made Umo wince inside.

"Have I come at a grievous time?{/b]

What could be worse than a son turning against his own mother? What could be worse than a mate gone? What if Ari died not knowing how much he loved her... Oh gods. She was gone, forever. He moaned slightly, willing the thoughts away; begging them to leave him alone!

"No... no, no..." He muttered, not sure what he was saying no to. "No. Yes.. Ari.." He groaned and shook his head, staring at Umo. It wasn't fair for Asi to be doing this to his long time friend. "I be... jus' worried aboot my mate 's all.." He tried to reign in his emotions, he even lied to Umo. Umo should come first, it would not do to tell him his queen was dead.

"Wha's tha, aboot news?" He said slowly, trying to get his mind moving again.

Umo was startled at his kings words and his actions. He could not comprehend what could make his dear friend Asi talk in such a way. What had happened when he was gone. Umo went closer to his friend, listeneing. Oh, no... Asi. "Worried... Why?" He asked quietly though he suspected something had gone horridly wrong. Umo wanted to press onward but... Asi was not telling him.

"Forget my news... It is trivial. Asi... please tell me what is wrong? Your face is pained and your voice is pained... you are in pain." He said, looking very stern though calm. "It is bad to keep things inside oneself."

"Did Ari... did she pass on?"

Asi winced at Umo's words, and very slowly he nodded. How could he explain how though? Where? He couldn't say anything about it. It was just... too hard. "Was this aboot the news?" He said, his voice harder and more persistant. He didn't want to talk about Ari's death, or her being dead. He didn't want to think about it.... why? Why.

Umo balked for a moment. His queen... dead. How could Umo comfort Asi? He stepped closer to his friend, his shoulder touching his. He was silent. How could he spill the news to his friend at this horrible time?!? He shook his head, not sure how to begin, but it was obvoius Asi did not want to talk about it. So, he simply began by speaking.

"Kikawaida is going to give birth again soon." He said simply, staring off into space.

It seemed to take a few minutes for the meaning to actually register in Asi's mind. "Ah... congrats.." He said softly. And then looked at Umo for a moment. "Yeh no will be stayin'ere, will ya?" He said, though ti was more of a statement than a question.

Umo winced as his king spoke. Was this a wise decision? He looked away and shuttered with a sigh. He nodded. "Yes... I would like to join Kikawaida fully... and be her mate eternally. The swamp pride... they are religous. I fear they will not fully accept Kika and I as a mated pair... if I was of another pride." He said softly, looking down. Something told him this was a mistake... but his heart said something else. He closed his eyes and lowered his head. "I do wish to come back now and again and visit you... you are my good friend Asi." He said.

His head lowered greatly.

"...I feel like... I should not do this too you... but... I love her Asi... and the cubs... I-I" He stuttered. Umo never stuttered... Ever. His voice was growing in pitch too. "Sometimes I feel like I regret not having a mate in my own pride-n-no... I don't regret it... but... she will not leave the swamp lands unless chased out..." He lay down, his head burried in his paws.

Asi frowned at the other male, shaking his head slowly. "Do no be upset Umo... tha' be the righ' choice... I do no think.." He trailed off. That if Ari was in a pride he'd live seprately from her. Never would he! "Yeh can always visit with yer family... yeh will always be excepted 'ere..."
