I tend to feel stressed when I'm in a tournament, but when I'm playing casual, my mind feels like it's on all cylinders. I love casual...so much more fun..and more...
...shall I say it?....

How do you guys feel in a tournament or casual space, and what do you do to help you out when you're not doing well?

i am more of a casual player..not really a tournament type deckmaker. anyways:
in tournaments i am just trying to see what sort of combos that are used against me...soo. stressed cause usually i am losing.
casual. twisted i like to pick at my opponents mind. take it apart one peice at a time. make them regret every move that they make over the course of the entire game....it's fun. i feel exilarated (sp?)

How do I feel? Depends on if I'm winning or not, heh. Causual, I'm not as on edge, and I play better. I also tend to get mana-raped less in casual play (I wonder why?).

Yeah, in casual things tend to work for me a lot better, deck-wise. Then again, I rarely play my type 2 decks when I'm playing casual. It's usually type 1.5 or type 1.

-usually when i play casual, i'll let my opponent win the 1st round so i can see his entire deq function, after that i play serious.

Rabbi_MTGRock I have not been able to play in a real tournament yet. I want to. Does anyone know when, where, and how expensive any tournaments are? I would like to play but I am sure I would lose bad. crying Depends on where you are. You can usually get Arena League or Friday Night Magic tournaments started at the local card shop. You just have to convince enough magic players to ask for it, and to actually show up for it. Both have prizes n s**t, but Arena is more of a casual play thing. In Arena League, you play your opponent, write it down, get them to sign it, and turn it in at the end of the day. With Friday Night Magic (which can be any night of the week, not just friday) you have a tournament (usually type 2) for foil DCI prizes. First place and a random roll nomanee get the foil cards. I have 3 foil DCI Cabal Therapies. I used to have a Blastoderm and Flametongue Kavu, but people kept throwing crap at me to get them, so yeah. This month is foil Fact or Fiction (which I traded into my store for a cool 15 bucks of store credit..hello Mr.Cranial Extraction).

Really it just depends on what/who I'm playing. If the person is one of those silent but deadly types, then I'll probably be stressed. If it's a more laid-back person, then I'm more likely to be comfortable, and less stressed.

Regardless of wheter I'm playing casual or in a tournament, I just simply relax, play the game and have fun. ^_^ Even if I lose, I try to learn something from my opponent, shake hands, and just generally display the best sportsmanship I can. ^_^ No use getting bent out of shape about it. ^^
