Order: Tues, Myso, Kate
Angeni pranced along the forest floor quite content. She had finally gotten to sneak away from her parents for a bit since her brother and sister had begun bickering again. Glad that she hadn't fallen into the fight herself she continued on her way.
Of course, being at her young age, Angeni had no clue where she off to. She just knew that she was going somewhere. So, when she finally made it to a stream she smiled brightly and skipped over to the clear water she got herself a drink. It was different from her mother's milk, but she would watch her mom do it, so she didn't see why she couldn't.

As she did every other day, Starbuck was busy building dams to pen in a minnow. She had gotten one end nice and built, and was working on the other side when she heard a disturbance down stream. How annoying, she thought, that someone would dare to bother her while she worked. This was /her/ stream, and no one else was allowed to use it. Okay, so maybe that law wasn't in place yet. Some day, however, the little babe knew it would be. In fact, there was only one other Malu she would ever happily allow into her minnow-cage, and that was Aurora, her lacky.
With a huff, Starbuck waded through the current down towards the intruder, muttering about stupid babies and their silly habits. "Hey, YOU!" She glared at the other. "What do you think you're doin', huh? You're scarin' away my FISH!"

Angeni's ears had already perked at the sounds of something wading through the water. Even though she didn't give it much thought until she heard someone yelling at her. Popping her head up she blinked and listened to the other young malu.
Giving the new malu a confused look she asked," me? I'm not doin' nothin' bad. I just got thirsty." Finally her mind had worked through that the other malu had said fish and her face instantly lit up. "There's fish in water??" She looked in the water excitedly," I want one!"

Starbuck crinkled up her nose in annoyance. "Stop yelling, gosh. If you yell you'll scare them all away. Duh." The little grey maluess turned her body around and started wading upstream, back towards where her dams were being built. "If you be quiet, I'll show you how to catch one. Maybe." With a confident throw-back look, she moved along against the current, stopping only to inspect the first dam for breaks. Luckily, it hadn't broken under the weight of the water while she had been busy yelling at the other pup, and she could continue where she had left off without much delay. Turning back around, she noticed how far behind the other was. "Well, COME ON already. Gosh."

Angeni blinked as he remained overly excited as the other maluess said she could possibly teach her to catch. Taking heed to her words Angeni waded as best she could, slipping every once in awhile, but catching herself. As she walked her way there she mumbled to herself about her complaining about her yelling while she was just as loud. Sighing she made her way to the maluess and tilted her head in curiosity to the dam. Looking up to the girl she asked rather dumbfounded," what's your name?"

The little malu watched the girls from a distance for a few moments, nose scrunched up lightly as his attention was distracted from hunting grasshoppers. His thoughtful frown shifted to a lopsided grin as he carefully made his way down to bank, quietly making his way closer to the young maluesses. When he deemed himself close enough, he fluttered his little wings and spoke evenly, "Hey, what are you doin'?" He leapt from the stone he had been standing on above them to a clear space near by - a tiny step, but made more formidable by the extra effort that was afforded it. Glancing toward the dam, his lopsided grin returned as his confidence boosted his attempt at conversation. He hadn't had much interactions with malu outside of his litter, but he was bold enough to throw himself into other discussions. "Nice dam."

With the new voice she instantly swapped her focus on the new malu. The boy she found was rather cute looking, but Angeni wasn't a girl to admit such a thing so bluntly as another pup would. Smiling dumbly though she blurted out her words with glee," she's gonna teach me to catch fish!" With her young, bright eyes she looked back down to the dam and then her attention zoned in again to the cute pup ontop of the rock.

"I'm Starbuck. Now shush for a sec while I get everything ready." The little gray maluess went to work fixing up her trap. When she had completed it, she jumped out of the stream and stared at the current, waiting patiently. "They'll come, don't worry 'bout it."
Unfortunatley, if any fish were comming, they would've been scared off as /another/ pup found it their mission in life to annoy the heck out of Starbuck. She looked up quickley, ready to yell, and suddenly stopped dead. He was smirking? She could play that. With a smile that could win a medal, she went along with the game. "Thanks. I make them all the time." After a thought, she jumped back on the conversation. "I haven't seen you around, have I? I think I'd remember, what with that fur and all..." She winked slyly at him, and flipped a glance to the other female with them. A shy one, maybe? Like that silly Aurora? Wait a minute... this male looked an awful lot like her sidekick. He couldn't be a scandal baby, could he?

His smirk broadened into a smile, shrugging lightly before he quipped, "So that's how you spend your freetime?" Stepping down toward them, he glanced at the dam. He nodded his head as if approving the structure before looking back to the gray malu pup. "Oh, I'm not easily forgot. I'm Oric." He grinned, turning his face to one angle before his eyes followed to look at the other maluess. "And who might you two be?" He didn't recognize Starbuck, though he knew Aurora had apparently made a friend. He didn't know the nature of their relationship, but he knew that he and Aurora differed in their boldness and personality - so he could guess.

Angeni easily caught onto how smooth Starbuck was able to present herself. So, she felt that she should be able to pull off the same act. Smililng cutely to Oric she gave a nod," I'm Angeni, nice to meet ya." As she looked from the two, the words about Oric's markings made her curious. Glancing down at herself she then looked to the other two and wondered if she could be easily forgotten for her simple colors.

Starbuck smiled inwardley, pleased that Angeni had found some confidence. Awkward and shy little things were her speacility, it seemed, to bring out of their box. That's what her plans were with Aurora, after all. Such a bitterly antisocial creature, that tan Maluess was. With a sigh, she pushed her lacky from her mind. "Lovely name, buddy. I'm Starbuck." With a slight look of hard to get, she made her way back to the water, wading into the pool she had created with the two dams. A few minnows were already falling prey to the clever trap, causing a swell of pride to warm her wet body over. "Y'know," she said casually as she crouched down, "you look an awful like this pup I know." She took a moment to pause, readying her muscles. A panicing fish was darting about before her nose, unsure as to why it could not continue down stream. She pounced, landing with a splash on its little body, and quickly grasping it in her tiny jaws. Confidently, and dripping wet, she turned back around and tossed the wobbley creature towards Angeni. "You wouldn't happen to be one of those scandal pups, would'ja, Oric?" She cocked her head lightly and waddled back out of the pool, smiling at the other maluess.

"Nice t'meet ya, Angeni." He stopped suddenly, mildly shocked at her accusation of his being a 'scandal pup', but he recovered easily and shook his head. "Hardly a scandal, more like a misunderstandin'. And yeah." He glanced at the floundering fish, stepping forward to put a paw on it before pushing it closer to Angeni. Letting his hind paws fold beneath him, he sat and looked from the dark female to the gray that stood in the water. "Guess you're the one Aurora's mentioned?" She hadn't spoken much, but usually Oric and she weren't for gossiping with one another. Shaking his head, he shrugged idly, "So my siblings and I are legendary, then?"

Angeni had missed Oric's words when she saw the fish fly towards her. She reached out in attempt to get it, but missed and landed with her face in the water. Quickly she sat up trying to regain her pose, but knew it was to late. Pouting at the fish she noticed Oric put it closer to her and she quickly pounced and cupped it within her paws glaring at it. Then, looking up to the two she gave an embarrassed smile and wondered who Aurora was.

She hadn't truely meant the title scandal as an insult. It was more of a... marker? One she had used in conversation with Aurora and in conversation with Eclair. "Yes, I know Aurora. She's my... friend." If Oric truely was Aurora's brother, she didn't feel like calling the pup her side kick. It sounded... cold? Yeah, a bit too cold. "Today's the only day I haven't run into her this week, actually. Must've slept in for once in her life." It was known to Starbuck that her chum was quite the earlier riser, and it had been odd that she hadn't met her at their usual spot. Obviousley, though, the grey maluess had gotten over it, and went to work on the dams without her. "So, Oric. Angeni. Want to go swimming?" She smiled wide.

The young malu pup shook his head before laughing, "I figured. She's been out of the den alot lately. Don't know where she is now." He looked back behind him, as if to glance toward his den. He supposed that Aurora was still sleeping there, but it wasn't his concern anyway. Did Mother even know he'd left? She'd find out sooner or later, he only hoped she wasn't too angry with him. Looking back toward Starbuck when she spoke his name, his lips spread in a smile once more before he took a bounding leap into the water. Droplets flew in every direction and once the splash cleared, the pup shook his eyes free of the stuff before using a paw to splash water at the two females. The water was only up to his ankles, and he wasn't sure about going deeper without a parent around, but if Starbuck made a move for deeper waters, he would follow. Oric was not to be outdone.
