Not too far from his makeshift cave home, knowing his siblings and mother weren't too worried about him, he now ventured off to make friends. He was much better at speaking now, but from time to time he would skip over words and the phrase would come out strange, but understandable. Slightly bigger now, being the juvenile he was, his tail flicked leisurely as he scanned the area.
Was he by himself? Well, darn. Finding a rock big enough to lay across--this had because his favorite past time--he lounged against it, feeling sleepy. He loved taking naps, but loved to play as well. Being the gentlest of the three cubs born from Ishara, he liked to take things as they went, if slowly. But eh. Time for a short nap, unless there was someone else about that he missed when looking around.

The tiny female cub danced over the rocks and the dust and the grass, her paws daintily tapping the ground as she swayed too and fro with the beat in her head. Maru was quite the amusing little lioness, from her red arrow socks to her royal chest marking to her shock golden eyes and black fur she had been hand picked by her father to take his place and reign as queen of their pride, but she didn't care yet. All she wanted to do was protect everything and everyone she loved. End of story.
Yet... today she was just out and about, somewhat far from her little pride yet not too far that she'd not know her way back. Maru was quite skilled with the knowledge of what was where and how to find it or get back to it.
Taking a deep breath of clean air and slowly letting it out of her muzzle, Maru danced further over the ground and beamed up at the sun for making her fur so warm.

The soft tap-tapping of paws alerted sleepy Tota'keke as he lolled about on the sun-warmed rock. Tail flicking, he opened his green eyes halfway in time to see a black and red female cub. Startled to full wakefulness, he sat up straight, eyes wide open. He could have sworn this area was empty, void of all others. But maybe he was wrong... Quietly, he jumped off his rock, landing softly on all four paws. A new friend, maybe?
Tota crept towards the female, wanting to see if she would be able to spot him. She herself would probably be harder to find if the sun hadn't been out and about, but then again, he still wasn't very good at his hiding skills. He practiced them daily, but still was very good. He'd be a great hunter one day, though, he knew it. He was going to be the best, and serve his pride well... once he grew up better. Deciding it was boring just stalking the cub, he called out. "Hello!"

Shock gold eyes flicked over to the large dusky red juvenile as he plopped from the boulder to the ground. It amused her that she was being stalked, but she kept her dancing up all the same, not really fazed by the fact that he was doing it. After all, she was being trained by her pops to learn how to become a great fighter. Maybe this would help.
But he came out of hiding... oh well.
"Well hello there. What're you doing stalking little females out on the savannah big boy?" Maru asked playfully, winking a golden eye so he saw she was fine with whatever he did.
Her little body curled up as she sat down on her left hip and watched the much larger male before her. He was quite cute with his white mane and markings on his butt. He was so much bigger though. Pity, she was tiny and he'd probably crush her.

Oblivious to the female's obvious flirtations, Tota'keke cracked a sexy smile (unknowingly) at the female. "Sorry, thought you might attack me, so I decided to test my skills. You're probably a lot better at stalking than I am, anyway," he reasoned, coming to a stop in front of her and laying down abruptly so they were face to face. "Tota'keke," he said promptly. "And you?"
For a little cub, she seemed pretty bold, and Tota liked her already. His tail flicked out gently, where a small breeze picked up, making his mane floof a bit before it died down. Green eyes watched the little female with amused emerald orbs, not quite sure how he could take this female. She seemed fun, though. "What were you doing earlier? You were walking... strange." He didn't know that she was dancing.

Grinning playfully at him, Maru stood up on her hind legs and immediatly struck her little red paws into his white mane, playing around with it as it pluffed up and a smile on her face. After she was happy enough with what she'd done to it, which was to ruff it all up so he looked like a giant teddy, Maru sat down on her hip again and winked a gold eye up at him.
"You can call me Maru, cutey." She told him with a mischevious giggle, her eyes dancing with inward fire that was burning in her very soul. The reason she'd been chosen for what she was going to do in life, or at lesast part of it.
This male though, he was incredibly soft around the edges. But there was that pesky size thing again, his age didn't matter to her, it was that he was rust red(which she actually found quite sexy) and the softness that she was swooning over. She might have been a cub, but Maru knew what she liked gods damn it all.
"It's called dancing." She beamed up at him, suddenly spastic, "I do it all the time. Just dance to a beat in my head. Don't you do it?"

He wasn't so naive that he knew what Maru was doing, but was too shocked to make a move to stop her. She played with his mane--what was up with that?--and once his mane was all poofed up and he looked like a big, fluffy teddy bear, he blinked a few times, completely surprised. "Um... thanks," he said, eyeing the girl. "Pleasure to meet you, Maru," he said, smiling, missing her mischievous giggling as simple laughter. He fumbled with his words momentarily, unable to say anything.
A heartening soft blush was on his face, but he wasn't sure why he felt so embarrassed, yet liked the attention. "Dancing?" he asked, feeling extremely awkward. "A beat in your head? Afraid I, um, don't know what that is, Maru. Oh, and you can call me Tota, if you'd like," he added, polite, gentle, and nice as always. "Is dancing fun?" he questioned. He was sheltered quite a bit, since he didn't know too much of the world yet, even as he was a juvenile.

"You're welcome." She grinned brightly at him and admired the way his puff of mane swayed in the wind now. It was amusing. "It's nice to meet you too. I haven't met many outside of my own family and pride, what's it like where you come from?"
She was curious, if she was to be the queen of her pride she would have to learn quite a few things in her life. Or at least a lot in the span of a few months. She wasn't sure when it was going to happen, but her father had always told her that he'd chosen her to be the next leader for her mark. She was tapped, that was true at least.
"Dancing? You don't know what dancing or music are?" Golden eyes flashed with pure horror. Dancing kept Maru sane when she was dealing with younger siblings, dancing kept her happy when things went bad. So how was it possible that there was another that didn't know what dancing was?
"Well then, Tota, would you like me to show you what dancing and beats are?" She smiled up at him sweetly, like a cub her age should have done though it was only a mask for the grin deep below. Darkness came in so many forms, she was but one of a form, though wicked she wasn't.

"I haven't, either," he agreed. "Where I come from? I just moved here with my family a couple months ago. I might leave; there's nothing to do around here, really." Maru seemed to act a lot like she was really important, though she was really nice and fun.
He wondered if she was a princess traveling around to discover the world, but then mentally shook away the idea. He was dreaming a hard dream if that was true. Anyway, how bad could it be, he wondered, to wander and learn on your own? He'd seen a lot of rogue lions and lionesses that were younger than him wandering about and looking happy and carefree.
But he preferred a pride; where he could hunt for his family, protect those he loved, and enjoy himself and not feel... lonely. A lot of the rogues he saw as he traveled with this mother and siblings was that the rogues were often alone. None of them traveled with any pack members. "Well... okay. I'll learn how to dance with you... provided I don't look stupid in front of my brothers," he added, looking chagrined. He blushed with embarrassment.

Maru's tail swished for a moment as she pondered his words, then again she was sure that if they just moved there that she wouldn't have really known where she came from either.
"Leave for where? You're still pretty young to leave your family or are you moving all together?" Maru asked, a little tad bit of concern weasling into her voice as she spoke.
Being how she was the little female couldn't help herself, she wanted to protect everything and anyone. That was just how she was. Everyone in her pride was her children in different ways though she was one of the youngest.
"You won't, no worries." The little female said with a wink as she danced around him, her tail swishing from side to side and her hips dancing. "You just have to let a song from your heart make its way up to your head and follow it."

"I'm pretty sure I came down from the mountains, but I was asleep when my mother decided to move from our last home," Tota explained, trying to figure out what he couldn't quite remember. "Too young to leave?" he chuckled and winked at Maru, somewhat beginning to feel a little more comfortable with her. "I'm not that young, compared to you. But you're probably more prepared, haha." He talked carefully, not wanting Maru to worry. "When I'm a bit older I'll be moving out on my own. Who knows, I might even find your pride."
Tota'keke decided enough was enough. Maru was a friend, and he didn't need her to worry over him. "Don't worry about me, Maru. I'll be all right." He watched as she 'danced' for a bit, and his green eyes lit up with laughter. "Afraid I can't quite follow your advice." Instead, he merely lay down, occasionally batting at her tail. After a little while, he flopped a bit, turning on his backside to watch her. He blushed a bit as he tried to figure out what was wrong with him. He was starting to feel uncomfortable again...

"I worry about everyone." Her little heartless marked chest puffed up and she patted his cheek lightly with a red paw. "I like to protect things, you aren't any different sweety."
One of her golden eyes winked and she danced around him before glancing down at him. He was like a sloth on the ground, but then most of the males in her pride were so she had a feeling that this one wouldn't be much better. At least her father, Kol, knew how to hunt, so he wasn't as bad as some were.
"Don't you know what music is?" She asked him as she turned and flopped down on his belly with her own. He was considerably larger than she was, so all four of her legs lifted off the ground when she flopped on him and it left her scrambling to get her paws underneath of her.
Finally getting up so that she could lay down on his belly and chest, Maru flicked both of her ears forward and glanced down at him, crossing her tiny paws on his chest and smiling at him with dancing golden eyes.
"I'll have to teach you what music is then." A smug look crossed her face.

Instinct hit him as Maru scrambled atop of him on his stomach, where they had both they tummies touch each other. Currently under control of his male pride, he suddenly flipped over, having Maru tumble right under him so that she now was on her back, with him standing over her as he stared into her gold eyes. As a preteen, he wasn't even sure what he was doing; his logic was pushed aside by gut instinct, and he leaned down so that their noses touched before he moved to speak into her ear, his voice husky-sounding.
His logic screamed at him from deep within, but again, was shoved aside. Tail flicking languidly, a sexy smirk on his muzzle, he spoke into her ear. "Teach me, then. I'm sure that once I learn, you'll like it all the more when I bring you your prize." He loved to hunt, and practiced all the time, although he always seemed lazy and sleepy during the day. But ever since he met Maru, he found himself mentally fighting, losing always to his male instinct. This little female was driving him crazy. "It's nice you worry about those you care about, Maru," he continued, licking her cheek slowly.
"But it's better you worry about yourself, don't you think?" He then lay on his side, curling around the small black female cub with a sharp, sparkling green eyes. His heartrate thudded dangerously, but he ignored in favor of fighting back his sudden interest. He nuzzled her on her stomach, and then turned away to look at her straight in the eyes before a confused look overtook him. His logic had come back. "Wha...?"

Resisting the urge to simply swoon at his words and the feel of him above her, Maru wrapped all four of her legs around him and pulled him down onto her. Oh she was a cub but she didn't care at all. Dark red and that smirk? Heaven.
The male could truely drive her crazy, whatever prize she would win it didn't matter to her at all. Her prize right at that moment was being able to be like this. The innocent eyes he made at her when his personality switched back over just made it cuter.
Though the thought ran through her mind that he was older than her and she was just a cub, the little princess of darkness reached up and licked his nose gently, a sultry look plastered over her dark features and her eyes half lidded with happiness.
"I'll worry about anyone that I want to worry about. And what's this 'prize' you speak so of?" An eye closed in a wink as she flirted with the dangerous side of the spectrum for a moment.
That was a problem though, she loved darkness, she loved danger, she loved to dance along the edges of what was known and what was accepted as right.

It was all he could do to not just drag her off somewhere by themselves, regardless of age. Tota'keke's ingenius dark side was on the verge of making sure Maru... well, he wasn't sure yet. His gut instinct knew things that he had yet to learn... at least, the terms and definitions of the sort when he grew older. For now, though, he was on the line between his good little juvenile self and his darker side, controlled completely by something unseen. His blood pressure rose to new levels as he was pulled down toward the small female, gold and green eyes clashing together, creating sparks he figured could be seen, but knew, somehow, weren't there.
Flickers of his innocent self flashed from time to time through his green eyes, but they always disappeared just as suddenly; they were too overcome by the eagerness that now dominated Tota's eyes. The same sexy smile from before appeared on his face as Maru licked his nose, which he promptly returned, though more slowly. Leg muscles quivered a bit, but he stood firm. "Prize? What prize would you prefer? The prize I mentioned could be just about anything now, couldn't it?" he said, smirking. "Such a beautiful picture you make, Maru," he commented lightly, winking right back at her.
He then nuzzled her, gently nibbling at her ear before he stopped, mostly for a breather and to relax. He flipped over again, Maru on top of him as he closed his eyes, breathing in her scent. If his mother saw him right now, he'd be in huge trouble... but for the moment, it was just him and little female cub. They were by themselves, and he doubted his mother would look for him right now; after all, they were within a pride she felt was safe, so for the moment... he opened his eyes and allowed a relaxed, sexy smirk appear on his muzzle as he curled his tail around Maru's tail.
