I've been wondering.
Since Nightmare did the intro and ending for the Deathnote Anime, they've gained popularity and gotten a lot more media attention.
Good, right?
But, now we get the phenomenon "Nightmare = Deathnote?" (Which the band replied with a "What? Of course not.")
The two seem undeniably tied together.
On top of that, half of the new Nightmare "fans" only like the intro and ending of the series and dislike the rest because it isn't 'anime' enough for them.
Not all fans, but some.
Bad?
I know this place is semi-dead, but some people still visit.
So, thoughts?

Honestly, Death Note is how I got into Nightmare. I loved the intro, so I looked up the band, then fell in love with the members, and the rest of their music.
I think if people like them and are introduced to Nightmare because of it, there isn't a problem. :/

I like Nightmare and Death Note. I think it's awesome that they're doing to themes for the Death Note anime, but it doesn't mean anything really, except "we're playing music for the anime."

I've heard of Nightmare before Deathnote, it wasn't until seeing and hearing Alumina that I've became obsessed with the band.
I love how Misa's ringtones is always Alumina. xD;

OMG! nightmare did a death note photoshoot.. they look so realistic 0.0 anywaysss.. i dont think deathnote=nightmare.. i a correct affiliation. 0.0 but they do go well together xd my goshnesss deathnote is awesomee! but nightmare is more awesome scream

I love how Misa's ringtones is always Alumina. xD; It's pretty much the same story for me, except I hadn't listened to their music since I heard they were doing Death Note. Tokyo Shounen and Alumina got me back into them.

Well I'm not afraid to admit that being a Death Note lover got me into Nightmare. sweatdrop But that was only the introduction, I like a lot of their songs better, and just because I started with The World and Alumina doesn't mean i'm miseducated. sweatdrop

Naito has always been there on my list of bands I like, but I never really spent a ton of time listening to them until their contribution to Death Note. Then my appreciation really sky-rocketed and I have their new album on repeat a lot lately.

It happens with a lot of bands like that. Unfortunately there will always be those people who will only like it because it was anime but you know.

What Neurotic Valentine said is true, that some people only like it because it was in the anime, although I have seen some posts of people saying that the OP and ED doesn't fit the series at all T.T (I think it does though, cause many Death Note fans grow to love it)
Well, yes, like a few others here, I first knew of Nightmare through the OP and ED songs of Death Note. From there, I got really interested in the band, and listened to more of their music, so The World and Alumina wasn't really my top favourites. I think their song Tokyo Shonen got me hooked with the band.
So I guess to those whom only like the ED and OP, and hate the rest of the songs, are not fans of the band I suppose.

I did hear of Nightmare before Death Note. I liked their stuff so I was pretty excited when I heard their songs for Death Note cause I love that series. but Nightmare is just amazing and I agree some of my friends have fell in love with them cause of Death Note... So in a way it's a good thing but in another way it's bad for the people who only listen to anime openng and ending songs and then dn't know anything else about the band or their music. <3
