Nyumbani stretched out her small paw, flexing her nails and letting them sink into the soft earth. She smirked lightly, imagining it to be some creature that threatened any one of her 5 sisters. Still, she hadn't seen mother in a while, and she'd needed time by herself. So she had stolen away from her siblings for a short while. She would soon return to them, and protect them as she always did. In the mean time the task could just be left to mother's 'chosen'. The thought made her stomach churn, as if she wasn't worhty of the family. But as the overly dramatic one stated, she shouldn't be worried about keeping the family safe at such a young age.
Her nose wrinkled in disgust of thought of her stupid sisters. She hated every one of them, yet loved them more than anything else in the world. She'd die for them, more than once if she had to, even if it wasn't possible. They were her life, and without every single one of them there would be no purpose.
A sigh escaped her lips. She tried to be loyal to mother, she really did, but sometimes it was so hard. What was she to do? She couldn't very well watch every single sister, not to mention they didn't find her guardship very noble. In fact, if anything, they despised her for it, or like the lazy one, didn't care. Then there was the sweet, innocent sister. Nyumbani slapped her tail on the ground, trying to deliver it a hard punch. Stupid. She was SO stupid sometimes. The cub, or rather more of a juvenille now, shook her head at an invisible force.
Perhaps something would come up. She could very well prove herself just yet, despite her mother's ignorance of the good she did for the family.

Khari, blinked, to find herself in the middle of the forest. Where had she thought of? Hadnt she controled.. her thoughts properly? She looked around once more, and shrugged. It was no trouble to look around a bit, maybe even have a meal. She lifted her paw and to be sure that her claws, were fit to hunt, and set them down. "A meal would be a good thing, at the moment. I wonder?" Deciding to travel, by flight, she hovered a few inches above the ground, and her wings moved silently.
She darted in between trees, and obstacles before, she accidentily veered her wings and tripped into a tree, tumbling down to where Nyumibani was. She instinctvely closed her eyes, willing herself to stop, before she screeched to a stop. "Phew!" She said tiredly, before blinking in surprise again. She was.. right behind something, big, or furry? "What am I meeting these days?" She widened her eyes. A Lion? She tapped her paw on its shoulder and asked quietly.. "Did I harm you during my fall? My Apologies!"

Noyama was so lost in thought that she hadn't noticed the feathered beast come tumbling down to land on her until it was far too late. "OOOF!" she managed to gasp as the wind was knocked out of her chest. Startled, she leapt to her feet in a flurry, eyes flashing to match outstretched claws and fanged maw.
However, as she looked she saw possibly the oddest looking creature she had ever seen. It was a lion, with a bird stuck to its back! She stared for about four more seconds before she fell over, laughing. As a general rule Nyumbani tended to ignore anything that wasn't family. They were all worthless and not worthy of her talking, but this thing was different. She had never seen anything like it in all her life, and it was well worth talking to.
"I didn't know you could get avian's stuck upon you," she cackled, her breath coming in short gasps between laughing fits. "But it sure is entertainment!"

Khari, had a bewildered look on her face as the lion burst out laughing. "Avian wings? They are not stuck! I was born with them! Entertainment?" She said huffily. She stood up quicky, and dusted herself out, before flapping her large wings again to hover slightly above the ground.
"I assure you, I am not a source of entertainment, far from that. I dont suppose you'd like to be a source of entertainment with me if I am one?" Khari remared dryly to the laughing lion. "Keep laughing, I hope you dont hyperventilate, and you do remind me of a hyena." She looked thoughful when she added the last part in. "Oh do stop. I am not THAT funny. Although I do give myself credit if I bring out happiness in others?" Khari said cheerfully. "Although thats not my domain, but its happy nevertheless."

Born with them? The thought was amazing to Nyumbani, and she suddenly forgot all about family pride and protection, and only about learning more about this obviously out of this world creature that was in front of her. She'd never seen, or heard of such a thing in her life, and she wasn't sure she wanted too, now, if they couldn't even take a cheap joke. Hell, she'd be happy if one of her sisters found her humorous, or mother or father, no one else, of course, they could go stick it, but still.
This one was confusing, though, she couldn't make up her mind if she was a happy or angry individual. The correct terminology should have been, "I hope you hyperventilate," not with a don't stuck in there. What an odd, odd creature. Nyu had thought the wings were strange.
"Domain?" she questioned, her laughing obviously stopped with the others possibly demented behavior. "Whatever do you mean?" She herself had never seen a hyena in all her life, spending every single second in the jungle, so she had no clue what the other spoke of. She could only assumed it laughed to much, though if there were lots of hyena's where she came from, she could see why.

Khari considered not explaining the works of gods to her, but this lion had already seen her wings. She shook her head and started to explain. "Gods and Goddesses co-exist with lions here. We have our respective powers, of course we do, then how would we be different?" She rolled her eyes before she realize she was getting off track. "Well, and domains are what we rule over with our powers. Example. One god is the god of pleasure. Another could be happiness. Another is loneliness. My domain is not happiness. Do you get it and are following along?" She asked curiously.
She set her feet back onto the ground, and illusioned herself to look like a regular white lion. "If I explain to anymore people aside from you today, I'll have to take it out on someone. I didnt.. ah.. expect other lions to be here today."

The small cub was completely taken aback by the other's display of illusion. She couldn't imagine changing colors, physique and likewise in the blink of an eye. Until then she had no idea what the other was speaking of, but now it became readily apparent that it was some form of magic, what mostly they dreamed up in the world. Greatest in her mind of all, was the fact that this could pose opportunity.
"There aren't other lions," Nyumbani firmly stated. "Just you, and me. You're not a lion." She would hold true to this to the day they died, for they most certainly could not have been of her kin. Whether that was better, or worse she couldn't determine, but obviously having one of such power sitting in front of her did nothing to change her attitude about the situation.
"In any case, if you come to near to my family, I'll have to kill you." It was a simple statement, which she fully intended to carry out. "Otherwise, I think we could be friends, oh bird lion." She raised and eyebrow. "And change back, the white hurts my eyes."

Khari stared directly into the eyes of the other lion. Her instincts told her, that this wasnt the type of lion she should associate it. In a way, Khari felt .. she was going to be used? She decided to reserve her opinion, and just converse for now. "Thats quite a insult, but your free to express your own opinion." She shrugged. This wasnt the first time she had recieved that reaction.
"What would I do to your family? What reason would I have to do it?" She raised her eyebrows. "Tell me one good reason why I would, in the first place, kill your family. If I had any intent of killing, I would've killed the first lion in sight, mainly you." She said annoyed now to be straightly accused. "The only thing I have intentions of killing is my food. And I dont think lions feast on other lions, as far as I knew."
"Friends, huh? I dont suppose I like your definition of friend already." She muttered under her breath, before complying with the 'request' and changed herself to a darker color.

This lion was STUPID! Honestly, she'd heard that excuse a thousand times. "You live a sheltered life, don't you? Or do winged things not have to worry about death so they don't care about miniscule little lionesses' like us?" There was no way in any day or age that she would appreciate this other one, now. It wasn't often Nyumbani even admitted another existed, let alone request a friendship outside the family. It was the young cubs own fault, and Nyumbani had no regrets in dismissing the matter.
"True lions will do unspeakable acts for no reason," she stated, knowing it full well true. Often, gaining the trust of another was simply the way of crushin another's dreams later. "I'm sorry you don't realize that." She was truly sincere, but growing quite tired of dealing with the foolish - all powerful, or not.
"Friends are people that stick up for each other and are honest. I'm honest." With that, she rose onto her feet and went into the dense forest, if the other followed, it was a sign that Nyumbani could count on her to be a friend someday. If not, well, who's loss it was could not be fully determined.

"I do live a sheltered life, but many lions do, dont they? I dont see why you compare us a different. We DO worry about death. But it's the same with you also, right? We both hunt, prey, love, cry and die? I dont see whats any different, aside from a little flying and of this and that." Khari said stiffly.
"True? What is considered to be a 'true' lion, as you say? Arent you the only one who can define for yourself what a true lion is? Those lions you speak of, appears that we have varied definitions. I would call your lions .. heartless? Most certainly, not true." She paused. "If those are the lions you have met, I can see that it's not your fault your perception is like that." She felt genuinely sad. It wasnt a wonder why this lion had snapped at her like that. Who was she to understand this lion and her suffering when she barely had the same sort of experience?
Startled by the sudden leave, Khari stood up, an ran after the lion. "Dont leave yet!" She darted into the forest, alarmed that she may have lost sight of the new lion, before she spotted her moving figure. She increased her pace to catch up. "I'm sorry if I offended you."

Nyumbani held her hard gaze, trudging ahead with determination matched by none in the jungle. It was how she intended to survive. The other lion, worthless, or at least she thought until the sound of crashing forest reached her ears. A small beam of hope crossed over her mouth and she gave the other a smile.
"You followed!" she exclaimed, as if it was the most wonderful thing in the entire world.
"You have perseverance. I respect that." She gave the lion a nod of approval and let out the purr of the youth. "No offence taken," she drummed from the back of her throat. "Why is such a winged creature out here, besides? You said you hadn't expected to meet lions. Perhaps I could be of assistance?" Nyumbani was strange in her ways, but once loyalty was won, it was hardly forgotten.

Khari, sensing that she had passed some sort of test, lightened up at the other lion's smile. "Why wouldnt I follow? Your my new friend.. I think?" She turned to the other lion questioning, as if asking for confirmation, if it was okay to call this other lion a friend. "Your more beautiful smiling then frowning." Khari said happily, falling into step, and settling the same speed of pace with Nyumbani.
"You quite straight-forward and truthful, I respect that too." Khari said with a wistful note before brushing the matter away. "I wander, explore, and do pretty much anything I want. Thats why I'm here I suppose." She said thoughtfully. ".. assistance? I dont think I came here for anything. And Honestly I dont know why I thought no lion would be here. I suppose because at first glance, it looked empty." She gave a gesture with her paw to the silence. "You cant hear much, just us walking around and talking." She gave a intent stare to the lion walking besides her though. "Although maybe I can help you? You looked trouble when we first met?"

Nyumbani was extremely happy she'd at least found someone other than a family member she could count on. With all the dults about, she didn't think it could ever have happened, but here she was talking peacefully to another soul. She stopped dead and looked at Khari sharply. It wasn't a bad looked, but it was one of questioning. The other had told her she was 'beautiful'. Nyumbani had never been told that before, and even though Khari hadn't meant much by it, Nyu took it as a lot. She said nothing of it, but a faint smile came to her lips to show she was overjoyed with the compliment.
Nyumbani thought it was wonderful to do whatever you wanted. Unfortunately in the jungle, it was dangerous. Not only did you have to escape mothers eye, but also every other little living creature here. The bugs were horrendous sometimes, crawling under your fur and making you smell and become raggled. The leopards were the worst, however. They may have seemed nice, but they were tricky fools.
It was true. This place was quiet. Sometimes it was far too quiet. "Family matters," she answered softly. "Its hard when you have six siblings." She shook her head, realizing mother might have gotten a tite worried by now. "Speaking of, I must find my way back. We'll meet again sometime, right, friend?"
It had occured to Nyumbani just then she hadn't gotten the others name. "Oh!" a chuckle escaped her lips. "And I'm Nyumbani."

Khari looked blank at the question look sent to her at first, but her mood quickly changed to pleased, that she had caused something of happiness to her new friend. She believed, that there was nothing better than putting someone else's happiness over your own.
She looked alarmed. 6 siblings? "I.. cant ever imagine taking care of that many littles ones." She gave a sad smile. "You should be enjoying life, while you can. Cant anyone help you, to let you have free time?" Her face fell, as the lioness announced that she had to leave. Apparently, this lioness, didnt have much of free time now. "Of course, we'll meet again. In fact, expect me to visit, wherever you are." She gave a pat to the other lioness.
"Thank you for your name, Nyuumbani. I think this is the time where I say Farewell?." She bowed, as a polite gesture and left.
