Ammy yawned and stretched in the darkness of her home. She had finally become accustomed to waking in this dark slightly moist cave. She could hardly move due to the size of her belly, but she had a horrible thirst. She'd have to go get water, but she felt particularly bad on this day. Or she could go get Kaede, then water. What if something were to happen along the way? She'd certainly like to have Kaede there if that was the case. She got up, carefully, Immediately she feeling dizzy with nausia. She moaned lightly as she padded out of her den in the direction of Kaede's home. Each step was further to the right or left as she went, teeth gritted with pain. "I hope the pups are ok in there," Ammy said as she desperetly waddled to Kaede's. This amount of pain just can't be good, Ammy thought.

She was bounding towards Amy's den currently. Her own stomach being slightly bigger then it had been the last day she had seen Amy. "I hope she's ok..." Kaede said aloud, going as fast as she could. Amy had had her pups in her stomach for a while now, she wondered when it would be time. If she should stay with her friend. Oh, what should she do?
"Amy?!" Kaede said aloud seeing her friend quiet close, stomach bulged as large as it could be on Amy. "Amy are you alright? You shouldn't be moving so much, what's wrong?" she asked, seeing a strange expression on Amy's maw.

"I'm not exactly sure Kaede..." Ammy said drowsily. The world kept turning sideways, and the ground was shaking. Only thing is, Ammy knew it really wasn't moving, and she was sick. Or... maybe it was the pups. They kicked quite a bit now, unlike they had since yesterday. "I wish I could make it to the watering hole, but I don't think that's going to happen... it's too far away," Ammy said between pants. She plopped herself down into the grass and whined, "Is it time Kaede? Do you think it's time?" Ammy didn't know, but it had to be... She was more than happy to have her friend by her side, to help her out.

Kaede watched Amy and stood next to her and leaned against her leg in case Amy felt like she might fall over. "The watering hole? " Kaede peered towards it, it really was too far from them to make it if Amy was sick. What do I do what do I do? she thought panicked. As she plopped herself down Kaede moved out of the way. Oh! How she wished she knew some of the lionesses around here! "I-it could be Amy ummm..." she wasn't exactly sure what to do. If only Goma was here!
"Just keep breathing deep okay? Lke this,"Kaede breathed deep in and out and she peered at Amy. She felt so bad she might feel so bad, "Do you want me to get you anything Amy?"

Ammy winced as she cried out from the pain. This had to be the pups... At least it would all be over soon, and she'd be skinny and have a family too. "No Kaede... Just stay with me," Ammy said, panting heavily, trying to immitate the breathing modeled by Kaede. She laid on her side and pushed, howling as it came... The first pup... It was mostly white, with a mostly black saddle and a purple diamond on its forehead. She started cleaning immediately. A male. "He'll be Ukabe," Ammy said tersely, knowing that this brief rest from the pain would be just that-- brief.

Kaede nodded to Amy and sat close to her, tail wagging, she was trying to reassure Amy, tried to pay attention if what Goma had told her was true. "It'll be alright, don't worry...I'll stay here with you don't worry," she said softly as she nuzzled Amy's forehead. She wanted Amy to be okay.
Before she knew it a little white pups appeared, male, she named it Ukabe, Kaede smiled, it was so cute and so small. She didn't say a word, but just stared at the pup in awe.

He wiggled and squeaked and wriggled and squeaked again. It was so cold! He tried to snuggle against a fluffy warm thing. He nuzzled his head against it and smiled a little newborn smile. This was his momma he was sure.
And he was Ukabe.

"Thank you Kaede... You have no idea how much this helps," Ammy said gratefully, while snuggling Ukabe before the second pup came. She could feel it coming very soon, and laid down to take the pain. Ammy had always had a low pain tolerance, and found this to be the worst she'd ever had in her life. She stretched out, readying herself when the waves of pain rippled across her. She cried out again, pushed again, and, after a while, was once again relieved. She tiredly turned to clean off the second cub. It was another male, but mostly purple with the same little black patch its brother had on its eye. "Taka-Okami," Amaterasu said, panting. It was all over, her two pups... she continued to clean the second, still wishing for water. I'll get it later, Ammy thought as she proceded to fall in love with her pups.

Little cries fell forth from a little white muzzle as the pup squirmed next to his brother slowly and tried to find whatever it was that pups needed at that moment. Taka-Okami had no clue what it was, had no clue where it would be, but he knew his little black nose knew what it was smelling, so he followed it as best he could.
A little squeal came from his small, wet muzzle as he worked his tiny body over the dirt of the ground towards whatever it was.

Amaterasu sighed of exhaustion but still managed to curl around her pups. "Thank you so much Kaede," Amaterasu said, turning her attention to her friend. "You're a lifesaver. I would have been very afraid had I been alone. But now we have a problem..." Ammy said. "I've got newborns in open land... I'd like to get them to my den, would you help and carry one?" She asked. They were extremely vulnerable, Amaterasu feared for their safety now more than she ever had.

Kaede was still in awe of the pups, life was a beautiful thing. But it made her worry, if she...if she and Goma...she shook her head slightly as if she had water in her ears. The pain Amy suffered scared her a bit, but she would not say it aloud. "Of course Amy I will," she said with a nod. She watched the pups, only two, but so full of life.
She got a bit closer, nosed the more purple one with her maw, and gently shifted it so that she could pick him up gently in her maw, and she held him softly. Kaede stayed low to the ground, and waited for Amy to get the other before they started moving.

One was gone! Ukabe wriggled and squeaked and searched for the other smaller fluffy thing (that was his brother) and whimpered. It was gone, he wanted it back. He snuggled himself against his mother even more, he didn't want this fuzzy thing to leave him either.

Amaterasu got up again, still fairly tired. "I can walk, I don't think I'd want to go any faster than that though," Ammy said to Kaede. She smiled as she reached down and gently closed her jaws on Ukabe's scruff and lifted him gently. It made her a little nervous... Grab too tight and she might hurt him, but grab too loose and she might drop him... She adjusted her jaw until she found what she thought was good, and started off towards her den.

Padding his tiny paws over the dust of wherever he was, Taka searched in vain for something, something he didn't know where it was. Two toned eyes were still viced closed from being born.
Why was he cold? Why was he alone? Why couldn't he feel anything? Why was he asking why?
Another squeak fell from his white muzzle as the pup tried to find his brother and mother in vain, but something huge walked away from him. Wagging his tiny tail furiously and scootching on his belly, Taka mewled sadly.

Amaterasu could see her den, she hadn't gotten far before the cubs came. She sighed a sigh of relief... She just wanted to rest for the remainder of the day. She padded inside her den, set the pup down and curled around it tiredly, looking to Kaede to bring Taka to her as well. She smiled happily at her friend.

Kaede followed after Amy rather slow and calm, making sure little Taka would be secure and safe. She smiled as he mewled, it was so cute! She was getting rather fond of the two little balls of fluff that were born from her friend. She brought him into the den adn placed him down next to Ukabe and stepped back, admiring the picture before her eyes of a mother and her sons.
"They're beautiful Amy...very hansome..."

Mommy! He felt somehting warm around him then he felt the ground but the big thing was there again. He squeaked and nuzzled his head against her stomach till he found something. What was it? Curiousity got the best of him and he wrapped his mouth around it, pulling quite softly.
Food!
He pulled back, squeaked happily, then felt his brother beside him, he went back to the food and wagged his tiny tail. Things were as they should be.

An expression of surprise lept quickly across Ammy's muzzle at the pup. She knew it was natural, but she still hadn't expected it. This is awkward... Ammy thought. Kaede was still right there!
She turned to her friend, "If there's anything I can ever do to repay you, Kaede, you let me know, ok? I'd be more than happy to pay you back," Amaterasu was truly grateful. But she was tired, "But for now, I'd like to rest... If it's not too much trouble," Ammy said, hoping not to offend her best friend.
