Do you cosplay?
  I do indeed!
Why would I do such a thing?
You mean it's not normal to dress like this?

It's about time we have a thread for this. You all like to dress up as Wonderland characters, right? OF COURSE you do! Well here you go. Post links to the costumes you've seen or bought or made. Discuss how-tos and wherefors. Have at it!

For my part, I'd like to share this dress I just found. I'm quite a fan of Heavy Red so it made my day when I came across this new dress. ^^ Tragic Alice is luff.

Navi, that costume would be almost perfect for me. I want to cosplay as American McGee's Alice this spring at a con (AMA) and I'm trying to decide whether to make or buy my costume.
It'll be my first cosplay. whee

That dress is very nifty find. 3nodding

I wish I had the resources and skill to make my own costumes and such. Halloween would be 10x more fun if I did.

you should totally make put it togeather yourself, that way, you can have it totally unique! and can add cool bits to it as well!

I'd buy one of those basic, ugly, "Alice" costumes from a costume store and add my own touches to that. Touches are easy and fun. Making my own costume would be difficult and frustrating. ...Mostly cuz I don't know how to use a sewing machine. xd

I've never seen that version of an Alice dress, it's very interesting! : O

Altering is very easy if you decide to buy something, but usually more expensive if you take that route because costume preices are jacked up WAY high for such cheap material u_u (Meaning costume store prices, not individual commissioners sometimes) To make that first Alice costume might take you back... 30-40 dollars at most. :3 But hey, not everyone knows how to sew eh? I just recently learned myself. >_>;; I didn't want to have my friend make all our costumes.

This summer I'm going as Alice for Akon 18~ xD I can't wait to get started on it. Although, I am not blond, (and STRAIGHT hair just NOT work with my er "curvier" body-type) I'm gonna use a more curly wig instead, yay for altering. xD

(Oh, and I hope this post doesn't make me seem like all high and mighty about costumes... I just... get really excited. ._.;; )

That curly wig thing....somehow it made me envision an elaborately decorated "victorian alice" with pretty sausage-curls....and my vision was very pretty. Now I want to invent one and force some old lady to sew it for me. Old ladies always know how to sew, right? xd

xD Every old lady I've met knows how to sew so far.

That's because back in the day, it was ACTUALLY cheaper to make clothes rather than buy. D: Alas, it is not so today. [/emotear]
