After a second night of feeling sick and weak, Victor had made up his mind to try and get to the small clinic he saw in the village earlier on one of his exploritory trips, he was too stubborn to try to call the labs, the first few days he had been on the Island nobody had even answered him trying to call on the intercom, so why should he bother calling them now?
Either way, he had hardly been able to get up that morning until the sun had come up and it had gotten warmer, he had also noticed the needlemark on his arm and assumed it was a insect bite and that was the cause of this whole problem, this sickness.
Victor had gotten just about halfway across the Village when he started to feel unwell again, he had managed to eat some beef jerky that morning and he didn't want to throw up again, not in the middle of the village. with a groan, Victor sat down, hoping the growing pain in his stomach would pass

It was morning, and that meant getting breakfast in before a good sulk. He didn't like keeping raw meat in his mini-fridge, it just wasn't practical. After going about a daily ritualistic routine that involved everything from brushing his mouthful of teeth to pulling on what little clothes fit him to some stretches that aided all seven of his limbs, he slipped out the door.
After the outburst with Thom he'd tried once again to make an effort to calm down and not get emotional in any way. Emotions always, always seemed to lead to trouble. Walking along deep in thought, he almost missed seeing the human sitting a couple feet away. He was vaguely interested by the sight of this potentially new guy. It was becoming quite rare to find people unchanged that didn't sport labcoats. Though he was a little hungry, it could wait. He didn't have it in him that day to mess with the guy, but he was almost sure that his appearance could do that for him.
Staying several feet away, he let his tail swish slowly back and forth. The question was one word, but it seemed like enough. "New?"

Victor looked up towards the voice, having to shield his eyes against the sun and blinking at Zach's appearance, but wasn't completely surprised and was otherwise occupied (and distracted) by the growing pain in his stomach. Victor looked back down towards Zachary's feet. What was this guy turning into? "I've been here a short while..." Victor grimiced visibly as he held onto his stomach and cursed, feeling as if someone had punched him in the gut, hard "********"

"Well, welcome to the jungle." Zach spread his arms in some mock form of greeting. His wings spread and folded back, always itching to flap. "I guess you've heard it all, so I don't have to repeat the story to you."
"Looks like my reputation precedes me," he said dryly, misinterpreting the gesture and obscenity. His frill flared slightly, but he otherwise didn't make any move to continue walking or approach the guy. People being angry at him for having a controversial opinion - how was that fair?

Victor shook his head, feeling his heartrate rise as he groaned, panting slightly as the pain grew. "N-no, not you.." Victor tried to explained and cried out as his hands, and feet begin to throb painfully, like they had been shut in a door, or had a weight dropped on them. With a pained hiss he held out his hands and arms in front of him, looking for whatever the cause could be for the pain, his eyes widening in fear as the flesh of his arms and body started to pucker, and form blister-like growths, quickly hardening and becoming rooted into his skin as black and white scales.
Victor stared stupidly at the growths before looking back at Zach, as if he had an explaination for this. "..W-what?.." was all Victor managed to ask as he cried out again, his feet had started to hurt so much he had to move them into a new position. The initial shock had started to wear off as a new pain started to focus in his face, making Victor realize what was happening to him. "No!" Victor shouted as if he could wish away the progressing changes, he started to get up and promptly fell back down with a scream, his feet felt -broken- daggers of pain stabbing into him, he couldn't stand. The changing man moaned, and felt his face starting to push -out- which Victor covered with his hands, but that couldn't stop the rapid growth that was occuring

There didn't seem to be enough time to comment further. The shouting and other assorted noises made the situation a little more obvious. Zach shielded the front of his snout-like face with one hand, hiding his stretched expression of disturbance. His eyes darted uneasily around to see if there was anyone else nearby, and then returned to the spectacle a couple feet away. This wasn't his thing at all. It was bad enough when he was changing, but to watch someone else... it was difficult. At least it wasn't Kaveri, though, just some random guy. Yeah. The less he cared the less this would be a chore to watch. His tail had stopped its lazy swishing, lying prone along the ground. It was part of the process, part of the price, it wasn't going to last forever, but it would be several minutes that would make him extremely glad he wasn't the one changing.
He could keep walking. He should have. Just leave the guy alone to whatever fate he happened to have. The black and white scales that solidified on the man's arms indicated a reptile. But in this moment of crisis he was frozen to the spot, watching with the same morbid fascination as he had several other times. If only changes weren't accompanied by shouting and screaming and blood, he wouldn't have felt so guilty for watching. They were almost surreal, but at the same time more real than they should have been. It would only be a couple minutes. Why couldn't he just keep walking and pretend he'd never stumbled on this?
He struggled to find his voice again, giving the man a slightly muffled explanation. For how terrifying the spectacle looked, he sounded strangely casual about it. "You're, uh- you're changing."

If Victor had heard Zachary's oddly casual explaination, he gave no sign, he was almost entirely in his own world of pain, it was almost like the dragon-man wasn't there. Victor's eyes were clenched shut but that hardly stopped the tears of pain that had started to roll down his cheeks.
With agonizing clarity, Victor could feel the bones of his face cracking, breaking, growing and reshaping as his face thrust outward. More scales appearing on his face as the growth continued, blood seeping from between the scales of his growing snout, the flesh feeling as if he scratched it, the skin would tear right open. Blood leaked out, covering his face, fingers and the front of his shirt, some dripping down onto the ground.
Victor's breath was coming out raggedly, having to gasp and pant, causing more blood to splatter out from his bleeding face as he moved to get onto his hands and knees, a mistake on his part as the sharp throbbing pain of his hands returned with a vengence, causing him to fall forward, and right at Zachary's feet. Victor reached with his bloody hands, wanting to grab hold of something, something real, something tangable, something to distract him from the pain, but whatever he touched was another lance of agony.

Seeing changed people was a common occurrence, but seeing changes was not. He was watching someone being reduced to nothing more than an animal in their panicking and doing absolutely nothing. It was just getting weirder and weirder, but the sight of blood wasn't what disgusted him. He'd seen so much blood already that it couldn't force even the slightest amount of bile up in response. But this man's face was dripping with it, like he'd been gouged right in the face under that pair of covering hands. Zach now had not one but two hands to his own snout, acutely aware of how lucky he was that the same thing hadn't happened when he'd grown a snout. His frill had spread wide. There was nothing he could say or do for this person.
So much blood... Was something going wrong with this change? He'd never seen anyone bleed this badly from a change unless they'd injured themselves. He took a step back, away from those blood-soaked hands. He didn't want this man to reach out for him. There was no help to be given. He wanted to get away from this change, from this reminder.

Blood, blood, pain and flesh thats what filled Victor's mind and senses, He saw Zach take a step back away from him, and Victor tilted his head to the side to look up at the dragon-man, his lips moved as if he was going to say something, Victor wanted to ask Zachary for help, to get help, tell him how much it hurt, to make it stop.
But Victor couldn’t say anything; Instead he let out a howl of pain, his tailbone suddenly forcing itself out, tearing out the back of his shorts as it grew, developing a black and white peppering of scales as it elongated , lashing from side to side as new nerves developed and triggered randomly and painfully
More blood dripped and leaked from his newly developed snout, bleeding from between the scales as with a groan and an audible crackling, his jaw extends outward, moving slowly and soon becoming better adapted to his snout. If Victor's mind had a pressure gauge for his pain threshold, it was rapidly approaching the red-line.
The changing man writhed on the ground, rolling onto his back as more blood ran over his face, some of which got into his mouth and Victor coughed it out harshly, closing his eyes tightly as his feet and fingers started to stretch out, the bones within popping, and then the digits swelling. The last coherient thought that Victor had before he blacked out was that he was glad he wore sandles that day.
The changes for the now unconscious Victor had finished for now, the lizard-man breathing in short, wheezy breaths, his limbs twitching, indicating he still was alive, but something was wrong.
It wasn't long after that the guards in a jeep came down, and while keeping a wary eye on Zach, they scooped the unconscious Victor up, put him in the back of the jeep and quickly wheeled away, taking him back to the labs
