Perilas had debated on which terrain room would be best for this class. Finally, he had decided upon one of the more temperate rooms, with some trees and a waterfall. He had lowered the temperature some to make a bit more comfortable for the students.

Ligeia was running alongside his dragon towards the classroom that they were supposed to be going to for Vorel's first class, it was so exciting. The dragon had come to so many of his classes and waited so patiently, listened to what the teachers were saying even if it in no way pertained to him and now it was his turn to get to learn, "This is great Vorel! Your first class thats all yours!" He said, fluttering his wings.

The two of all but slid to a halt in front of the classroom and looked up at the door, made sure it was the same as the one that was on the paper telling him where to go before opening the door, letting Vorel in first before he followed after him.

"Woah!" It was amazing! Like his father's classroom but it had a waterfall in it! Vorel nodded in agreement then both of them turned to look over to the teacher.

"Hello Mr. Coleman!" He greeted.

"G'rei oiorcai!" Vorel said, sitting back on his haunches, tail swishing.

Both it would seem were quite excited for this class.

(( "Good Day!" ))

Perilas grinned at the two's enthusaism. "Hello," he returned their greeting. "Today, Vorel here is going to get to learn how to use his breath weapon attack." He looked up at the frost dragon, to make sure he was listening.

"So I figured we'd start with these first." He gestured to where several buckets of water sat on a table. "Let you get used to actually using your attack, Vorel, and then we'll move onto something else."

Freezing buckets of water Ligeia wondered to himself then looked over at Vorel who was looking them over, closely. They had made popcicles before then there was that incident at the mall with the gold fish... He flushed a little at that memory, but never had Vorel froze anything so big as these, "You can do it." He told his dragon, nodding, he was sure that he would just have to put more into the icy cloud.

Vorel walked over to look down at the buckets of water, then drew in a deep breath. If Ligeia thought he could do this then he was sure that he could! A little bit of fog trickled out from between his teeth before he released his first attempt at the freezing of the buckets... and he succeeded in freezing one to the table. Oops. He should probably have aimed that a little better? He gave a grummbled the started to draw in another breath to try again. No buckets were going make fun of him, not when his partner was looking on, "Gaurenne tondargaet." He muttered at it, trying again.

Ligeia patted his wing, assuring him that it was ok. After all when they had tried to make popciles he'd ended up freezing a couple cups together and knocked one over and froze the juice to the floor...

(( "Be Ice." <_< Two hella long Draconic words for two tiny one in English. ))

Peri chuckled softly, hopefully soft enough that the frost dragon wouldn't hear it and be offended. He thought about saying something encouraging, but Vorel seemed to already be concentrating on his next attempt, so the man kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to become a popcicle...

Vorel released his next breath over the top of one of the buckets, then drew back to look it over. A pointy toothed smile spread over the maw of the dragon. Yes! Take that you bucket. It looked pretty well frozen and stuck to the table as well. His tail lifted up to poke at it then he turned to look at Peri a moment as if to check that he had done it right. If so he would take care of the rest of the buckets.

At the freezing over of the bucket Ligeia clapped his hands for his partner.

Peri grinned at the frost dragon's excitement. "Great job." It would take him quite some time to pry those buckets off... Oh well, maybe he'd just turn the thermostat way up and let them melt free.

Vorel's tail swished in a happy way, yes. He had one it the way he was supposed to! He then turned back to the bucket to look one over then reached over to grab it with his clawed hands, squeezing it. There was a crackling sound of the ice inside as it was broken up inside the bucket, that itself was a little bent up, and Vorel snapped up some of the ice shards. He chewed on them as the turned back to his teacher to see what was next.

Peri chuckled, then gestured for the two to follow him over closer to the waterfall. "Now that Vorel's got the idea of the attack down, we can see how he'll fair against a bigger target." The man grinned and pointed to the waterfall. "Since he's got the idea down, now he needs to figure out how to use more power. When against an opponent, chances are they'll be larger than those buckets and you'll need more power behind the attack to have the same effect."

Both Ligeia and Vorel starred with wide eyes at the waterfall that they were shown. Vorel was to... freeze it?

"You can freeze moving water?" Ligeia asked of the teacher. He'd never thought of the idea of moving water freezing over before since well... it was moving but...

Vorel stepped closer to the waterfall as if he were trying to size it up, he didn't want to give up without trying after all. Especially with both the teacher and his Ligeia watching. He had to try to freeze it even if it were more then he'd thought of doing before now.

Peri chuckled. "Aye, though this isn't moving all that fast, so it'll freeze easier. Only if water's moving too fast will it not freeze. That's why the edges of rivers freeze. That's where the water's slowed down more."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 20, 2006 11:20 am

Vorel looked over at the teacher, seeming to be taking in what he was saying then swished his tail back and forth in a thoughtful manner. The edges froze faster then the rest of it if it were moving? Would it be the same for the waterfall? He flapped up into the air, looking it over for a moment. Maybe best to begin with the edges? If could get some progress with the first breath and sort of... build upon it from there. So he took in a deep breath and released it out, aiming for the edges of his target to begin with.

Peri turned to watch as Vorel started his attempt. The man wasn't really sure if the frost dragon could entirely freeze the waterfall, but that as a goal would help the dragon learn how to use more power.

The man watched as the edges slowed and began to crystalize. Well, it seemed Vorel had listened to him, at least. He grinned at that thought.

When the breath had been sufficently used up Vorel sat back on his haunches to look over the work that he had thus far acheived, the edges were frozen over just as the man had said they would be. The easiest part of this. The rest... He tilted his head to the side, blinking his blue eyes before he drew in another breath to give it another shot. He would try his best to finish this task, he'd stop when told too. Or when he winded himself, whichever came first.

Ligeia stepped closer to the water to look at the ice that he had made so far on the water's surface before looking over as Vorel drew in another deep breath for his next try. He gave a whistle, "Come on Vorel!" He called, clapping his hands to give encouragement, becoming the Frost Dragon's personal cheerleader.

Peri grinned at the pair. So enthusiastic. They rather amused him. He was sure that the Boss was happy about this pair. They'd turned out well, better than some of the other dragon and child pairs, especially those where one hated the other.

The man glanced back over to see how much progress the frost dragon would make on this attempt.
