Walking along the many paths that surrounded Traverse Town, Faust was looking forward to picking up a new book about Medicines. But today, the young blonde looked rather different then he usually looked.
His skin was pale and there were bags under his eyes, his hair messier and messier everyday. He seemed to be mored dazed also, eyes half lidded and tired looking while he toddled along contently. He was perhaps, thinner then he was, but not overly.
He had a reason, one he wouldn't tell one AT ALL, the others he would if the outcome didn't threatened his personal life. But things could always be worse, Johann usually told himself and really, he didn't look as bad as it sounded. People could only JUST notice the slight change anyway.

Rogue hummed to herself as she walked along one of the many pathways in the place she had come to know as Traverse Town. Her hands were clasped behind her back as she looked around in awe at the snow that was falling to the ground.
"It's so pretty..." She said softly before she heard another pair of footsteps crunching the light fluffy snow up ahead of her. Lifting her emerald eyes from the falling snow, her gaze fell upon the one and only, Faust.
"Hey!" Her steps became faster until she reached the boy, a smile across her lips. "It's been so long, how have ya been?" She asked, before her smile faded, but only slightly.
"Are ya feelin' alright? Ya don't look too well." She spoke softly as she lifted a hand to his forehead briefly. "here, lemme jus'..." She lifted up her other hand and ruffled his hair slightly, fixing it to look more neat. "There." She grinned.

Standing straight, Faust thought he heard the voice of someone famillar. Stopping in his tracks, he barely had a chance to turn and see who it was before the face of Rogue was right infront of him.
His eyes widen for a moment in suprise, before he continued to smile happily at her. "O-oh, hello Rogue." He said softly, his stutter hardly there anymore. "I-I'm alright. I.. just haven't been feeling too good lately."
It was true, in a sense. "But I'm g-getting better, how about yourself? A-any business in Tr-traverse Town?"

Rogue frowned slightly "Been sick? Ya shouldn't be outside then, it might make it worse, this coldness."
She clasped her hands behind her back as her frown disappeared, a happy smile currently in it's place "Well, as long as ya are getting bettah, then Ah guess Ah'll let ya off the hook... this time." She winked playfully before shaking her head.
"No business... just... looking around, this place is amazing, and with all this snow it just looks so pretty!" To emphasize her words, she stuck a hand out to catch some of the falling snow, "But Ah'm doin' good, amazin' actually... what have ya got yaself up to in Traverse? Anythin' in particular?" She asked as she dropped her hand.

Looking slightly disappointed at myself when she frowned, the smile soon returned as he waved his hands infront of himself in an apology. "S-sorry"
Smiling softly again however, Johann patted the school bag at his side. "Oh yea, I-I'm on my way to pick up a book about medicine's. I-It's a new one and should... help my studies."
Again the truth, to a certain extent.
"How about we d-do a bit of Christmas shopping? I-I havent done any yet..." He suggested hopefully.
He had some money on him, and with how nice Rogue wa sto him, he would like to get her a gift also.

"Don't apologize, just take better care of yaself, alright?" Rogue grinned, "A new book? About what?"
At the suggestion of Christmas shopping, her eyes lit up. "That would be so fun, of course, let's go!" She linked arms with the boy and smiled "so what do ya want for Christmas, Johann?" With him being her only friend, she wanted to buy him an amazing present, even though she didn't have a lot of money to do so. She can always buy presents for her family later.

"Dont worry.. I will.. " Faust smiled more, feeling that his day had just gotten better.
Not only was he getting the new book he had his eye for a month, but to share it with his closest friend! Life was getting better despite certain happenings.
Having his arm linked with the girl's was an odd sensation for him. Perhaps because no one had ever "invaded" his personal space so much. But her excitement was comforting to him. "I-It's Medcines for poisons and drugs. You know... Antidotes of sorts."
At her question though, Johann looked baffled. A gift? For him? His father gave him gifts but... No one did. "Oh, well.. I... I-I'm not sure.. How about you?"

"Really? That sounds interesting but... what kind of poisons? Like... poison ivy?" If there was one thing Rogue was not aware of, it was medicinal things.
"Ya ain't sure? How can ya not know, Ah mean.... Actually, Ah don't know what Ah'd like either... just surprise me, those are always the best presents." She grinned as she looked around, "hmm... what store would ya like to go in first?" She asked, turning back to Johann.

"O-Oh... Well... Mainly poison's in other drugs and... O-overdoses. Like how to treat someone if they have opium a-and are suffering side effects." It was just an example, he wouldn't dare say Morphine in case they linked it with him.
"Y-yes, suprises are always nice." His smile seemed a little strained for a moment as he tried to agree with Rogue. Not all suprises were nice as he had found out.
"How about we go get a a-a hot chocolate to take out a-and go to the park?" He asked, a slight blush showing clear across his pale face.

Rogue's mouth formed an 'o' as she slowly began to understand, "Ohhh, so ya mean like pills and such! Ah get it now." She giggled at the thought of 'poison ivy' being her previous answer.
She pondered his question before smiling and nodding enthusiastically "Oh yes, Ah'd love that! Hot chocolate is so delicious at this time of year, and I bet the park looks even prettier than these boring streets, let's go, let's go, let's go!" She giggled again and she started walking faster, "Come on Johann! I wonder if we can get them with marshmellows and chocolate sprinkles!"

Faust himself gave a small, quiet chuckle at Rogue's giggle, finding it rather cute. Not everyone was like him or other people he knew.
His eyes widened though as he was tugged along faster then they had been going, gripping his bag a little tighter with his other hand.
"Oh! Y-yes! It would be m-my treat of course." He said, catching up her side. "And, if you see something you like in a window on the way.. Tell me.

Rogue turned and smiled as Faust responded to her giggle with his chuckle, slowing down slightly as he spoke though.
"Are ya sure? 'Cause... 'Cause Ah have money too... Ah don't want you spending all ya money on meh, but tha same to you, anythin' ya see that yawant, just tell me, and I'll think of buyin' it for ya." She teased with another giggle, happy that she was finally having fun with her friend.

"Oh, don't worry about money. I have plenty one me." He nodded softly, giving her a reassuring nod.
"You dont have to worry. About getting a g-gift for me.. You being m-my friend is enough of a g-gift." It was the truth, he wouldn't let anyone hurt Rogue.
No, she was too valuble to let go. He woudln't know what he would do if he didn't have a friend like Rogue to keep him going.

Rogue smiled brightly "Are ya sure?... thank ya," she said, squeezing his arm slightly before continuing "But, Ah'm definitely gonna buy ya somethin'... 'cause... I want to." She spoke like it was a reasonable answer to any question.
"You are mah best friend, ya don't know how grateful Ah am to have ya around, Ah just have to find the perfect gift for ya, or else I wont be happy with mahself." She spoke proudly and determined as they walked up to the door where the beloved hot chocolate was waiting.

"I.. It doesn't have to be big... If you a-are.. Anything is good from you.." There was a deep blush across his face at what she said, wishing he could say most of the things she could say so easily. Prehaps when he was older.
It's like he wasn't going to try and get her something big anyway. It was the least she deserved.
Coming around the corner to the cafe, Faust looked all the more excited, not as tired as he looked before when walking up the road. It wouldn't matter if he didn't get that book today, not with Rogue around. "Do you want a cake o-or something to go with your cocoa? A-and marshmellows?"
Might aswell get the order ready now!
