Obie woke up Christmas eve morning to the rich scents of breakfast being cooked. Breathing them in deeply, she smiled and turned over to wrap her arm around Ra and rest her head on his shoulder. The whole trip had been surreal so far. It was the Christmas holidays the way she had always imagined them to be. Instead of the pristine, perfectly placed and matched decorations of her old home, the Dobre household was filled with a hodgepodge of bright colorful lights and any kind of ornament you could find, most of which had been homemade by the family. The scents, the music, the warmth, the laughter, the building anticipation for the big day... It was truly wonderful.
Smiling to herself, she kept her eyes closed but tilted her head back to start kissing his neck lightly, running a hand up under his shirt to rest lightly on his stomach.
"Are you going to wake up love?" she asked softly, continuing her teasing kisses, allowing them to become slightly hungrier and more insistant.

Ra had gone out like a light as soon as they had gone to bed. It felt so warm in the family home and it made him miss his a little. At Obie's kisses he opened one eye and smirked at her.
"Are you going to give me a choice?" He asked wrapping his arms around her and rolling her to her back. Smirking he kissed her deeply and shifted to rest his head on her chest.
"What time do we have to get up?" He asked. "It's far too comfortable here."

"Probably not," Obie laughed a little as he rolled her onto her back. She returned his kiss happily as she wrapped a leg around him and ran a hand up into his hair. Smiling as he rested his head on her chest, she played with his dark waves and shifted a little under him to get more comfortable under his weight.
"I don't know. Whenever we feel like it?" she smirked and placed a kiss on top of his head.

Ra smiled and closed his eyes again slipping a hand under her t-shirt to rest on the soft skin of her stomach.
"I feel bad though." He said softly. "Like we should be helping. Or socialising or something." He smiled again and looked up at her with a grin. "I can't wait until tomorrow. You have no idea how long I've been dying to give you your present for."

Obie opened her eyes and arched a brow as she peered down at him.
"You got me a present? Well damn... I'm going to have to go on some last minute shopping," she smirked, though she had to admit she was both surprised and intrigued. Closing her eyes, she smirked at herself. She really didn't know why she was so surprised though. He was always good about giving gifts for whatever the reason. Breathing in the scent of breakfast once more, she smiled and pushed him over as she sat up.
"I better go get started now. Beat the crowds," she smirked and kissed him. "I'll be downstairs if you care to join me," she smiled and slid out of bed to pull on a hoodie over her t-shirt and some socks on her feet.

Ra was going to stop her, there was part of her present he didn't want to give her in front of everyone. But it could wait until later. Smiling he nodded and flopped back onto the bed.
"I'll be down in a bit." He said with a smile, watching her as she walked out of the door.

Maddison was alreading in the kitchen trying to organise everything. They had prepped the turkey, done the last minute food run and now all they needed was to start preparing the evening's dinner and bake some cookies and cakes.
She had decisded everything had to be more perfect this year. It was her first christmas with Obsidian and she was determined to make it one to remember.

Obie flipped her hair back into a knot and slipped a chopstick through it as she turned towards the kitchen at the bottom of the stairs. Rubbing some sleep from her eyes, she stepped into her favorite room of the entire house and smiled as she watched Madison for a moment. Walking up behind her, she leaned on the counter next to her and looked down at the pans she was cooking in.
"That smells really good," she smiled and looked up at her. "Tell me what you need me to do," she smiled.

Madison smiled and wiped her hands on a tea towel.
"Morning love." She said with a smile. "Did you sleep well?" She walked over to the fridge and poured Obie an orange juice.
"I'm nearly done actually." She said handing Obie the glass. "Brad is laying the table and the kids are probably dragging themselves out of bed."

"I did sleep well, thank you," she smiled as she tucked her hands into the pockets of her sweatshirt as she watched her pour some juice. Obie glanced towards the dining room and smiled as she took the glass from her. Looking back to her mother she took a small sip of the juice and tucked a dark strand of hair behind her ear.
"We're really excited to be here. This is Ra's first Christmas," she smiled, saying the words for probably the hundredth time as she looked around at all of the preperations. She wasn't sure why she kept reiterating that fact, other than the fact she felt as if it were her first Christmas as well and maybe she was trying to stress how important it was even for her without letting Maddie know how her previous Christmas's had been.
"What do ya'll usually do Christmas Eve?" she asked with interest.

Madison smiled broadly and started to dish up the breakfast.
"I've been so excited to have you here." She said looking back to Obie. "This is going to be such a good Christmas, and I really hope Ra enjoys it." She smiled again and thought of something.
"He won't take offence at the nativity scene and things like that will he? I mean I assume not as he wanted to experience christmas but I think it's best to ask?" She fussed as she continued her task.
"Ususally on Christmas eve we just prepare things. I like to bake sweets with Sadie. Brad's family are Czech so they have lots of fun traditions. The boys decorate the tree and then I make a huge dinner." She smiled and another thought came to her head. "Ra can eat fish right?"

"No, he won't take offense," she smiled warmly, shaking her head. "He's not extreme in any form or fashion and truly I think he's more intrigued about the whole thing than anything else. He loves learning about new things. I really think he's going to love all of this even if it might seem a bit tame compared to Eid. I went with him to celebrate in London with his family, it was a lot of fun," she smiled and sipped her juice. "But yes, he can eat fish. The only thing he's not supposed to eat is pork."

Madison smiled and nodded.
"Good, I don't want him to feel uncomfortable at all. And I'll remember to give him some vege sausages or something instead of Gamon tomorrow." Smiling to herself she walked out into the hall and called up to the children to tell them that breakfast was ready. Scrambled egg on toast. Nice and simple.
"Will the two of you come to midnight mass this evening?" She asked as she started to pick up the plates. "Again, totally optional." It was still strange for her to think, here was this girl, her daughter yet she knew nothing about her. "Do you drink? We usually have mulled wine when we come back."

Obie smiled and pushed herself away from the counter to drift over towards the dining room with a couple of plates in hand.
"Um... no. I don't drink," she smiled and shook her head. "Niether does Ra. Morning," she smiled and nodded to Brad who had seated himself at the table with a newspaper and mug of coffee.
"Morning Obie," he smiled warmly, folding the newspaper and tossing to the side. "How did you sleep?" he asked, sitting back as she placed her plates in the middle of the table.
"Very well," she smiled and tucked some of her hair out of her eyes, glancing towards the stairs and wondering if she should go stir Ra again.

When Obie had gone downstairs Ra took the oppertunity to take a shower and change into some jeans a shirt and a sweater. Again he felt familiar nerves. Despite reassurences, he still felt shy around her parents especially her father and brothers.
Taking a deep breath he made his way down the stairs and into the dining room.
"Good morning." He said softly as he entered the room. It felt so warm in the house, he loved all the decorations, the cards and the lights.
Madison smiled at Obie.
"Sensible." She said as she placed the plates down. "I'll make a non alchoholic version too."
At Ra's appearence she smiled brightly at the shy young man. It was a good job she was used to that with her youngest.
"Morning Rashne." She said with a smile. "I was just asking Obie if you would like to come to mass with us tonight. I understand if you would want to give it a miss but the offer is there."

"Good," Brad smiled happily and looked up as Ra walked in.
"Good morning Rashne. I trust you slept well too?" he asked, gesturing to the seats to his left for them both to sit down. He was glad to have them both here for Christmas. There seemed to be an extra charge of electricity this year, an extra bit of anticipation in them all, even in the kids. It was almost as if they could sense that this would be the first complete Christmas that the family would share.
Obie smiled happily as Ra walked in and held her hand out to him as she sat down in the seat that Brad had gestured to. Looking up at him, she smiled for a moment, then looked back at Madison.
"Um... I don't know. I haven't been in a long time," she smiled and glanced up at Ra once more. She wanted to go, if only to be able to share everything with her new family, but she didn't want to leave Ra on his own for a few hours if he didn't want to go.
Just then Sadie bounded in with a bright smile and kiss for her mother's cheek before plopping herself down in the seat across from Obie's.
"Ya'll talking about tomorrow? You're going to love it Obie. Everyone is going to be here. You'll get to meet Grandma and Grandpa and Opa and Oma and everyone," she smiled happily.
