hokay.
so, recently invited, need to create this first thread~

some of you know me; some don't. i started drawing when i was around 13 and don't really have much to show for it, as i haven't been one to actually draw very often.
pirate

right then~
newest to oldest, these are from '04 to present (er, present to '04).
most digital stuff was done in painter7.
User Image
commission i'm still working on (need to clean everything up and add a smidge of color). i almost wanted to scrap it from the very beginning until things started going alright, but i'm still clueless about her far leg. i've drawn and redrawn it in all sorts of positions several times, and i'm still not happy. if anyone wants to do a redline, be my guest.

recently completed commission~ her right (viewer's pov) leg's a little ********, but i.. had no motivation to correct it.

oct '06.
random sketch of a tektek'd avatar; i like big butts, and i cannot lie. :'D

User Image
may '06.
the.. only thing i drew from late january up until the end of this september. straight ballpoint pen + composition notebook + a bit of oC coloring~ couldn't fix the anatomy/awkward suggestion of masturbation due to the medium, haha.

---
User Image
dec '05.
doodlething i'm probably only still fond of due to a love of the.. ******** bizarre. highly questionable anatomy, ahoy!

---
User Image
sept '05.
semi-serious cg effort in oC3plus. that's not her hand.

---
User Image
aug '05.
i think i would really like this if not for having drawn her body so hastily and the horrible foreshortening job on the leg (hurr).

---
User Image
starting to get more of a handle on anatomy, minus the fake tits. :B

---
User Image
feb '05.
experimental thing in oC3plus, funky anatomy. she's my succubusthing~

---
User Image
dec '04.
my.. fursona (shut up) of the same name.

---
User Image
nov '04.
my first and only full-blown cg (did i mention i don't draw very often?), of someone else's time-traveling assassin character, drawn for a contest that ended up winning. stylistically, i think i prefer the wip sketch, heh.

so, there you have it.
i uh, really like female anatomy. a lot. (yes, i draw boys, but they're not very interesting)

HELLO, ARTFAGS. 4laugh User Image

I have seen that last one before, maybe in your dA?

You really have a way with making sexy women. What inspires you? What're you thinking about?

Do you ever draw guys?

Nice stuff. x3

I reeeeeaaally love that second one. So nice. @_@

You do have quite a talent for drawing the ladies. Nice folds too.

The faces look kinda weak in only a few of your pictures (in the first and last pictures), but the rest is just fab.

always loved your work, kitteh. very inspiring. you've got a way with the female figure that i wish i had. the line work you put into these really enhances them and shows off the figures very nicely.

the blisterplease.jpg one looks pretty good. the composition is pretty fun although i was confused with the hand. only when you noted that it wasn't hers was what made it click for me.

crazy spork i am

it's tough being a boy in a woman's world

girls are so pretty and interesting

emo

Nice work though, seriously. Aside from the problems that you already seem to be aware of, I can't say I see much to suggest here.

I really quite like the dec '05 doodlething

Your line quality is just lovely. heart It's so feminine and fits your subjects perfectly!

You should draw more!

I really hope that i can someday draw the female form as fluidly and naturally as that. The line quality, as zeebee said is just so nice..i love how you can keep the coloring so subtle and minimal and still achieve the softness and volume.

All the forms look so soft..i really admire that in girly art, from you and artists like Milo Manara..

i'm working on it.

How did you learn? XO

and i'm also really curious to see what you can do with the male form. nothing wrong with drawing girls all the time, but it would be interesting to see how your style articulates other subjects.

@tish -- mhm, several of these are in my dA, i think (..i haven't been there in quite some time).
i catch myself staring at people and the way light plays on things quite a bit, whether i'm out and about or in a familiar place with familiar people, but i guess that's typical artist behavior. i guess dreams are another typical answer. i tend to randomly visualize things. beyond that, pin-up and fetish photography/film are an obvious big one, and art-wise, my favorites generally fall within art nouveau, surrealism, and lowbrow/pop-surrealism.. i guess my favorite thing is the idea of taking something pretty and delicate and making it a little disturbing or somehow corrupted, the whole loss of innocence thing. or things that are just straightforwardly provocative.

@tawney -- thank you. <3 i have noticed that my preoccupation with bodies has lead to a weakness when it comes to faces; i've been trying to keep an eye on that recently, but i think it's going to take more vigorous practice than i've been putting into it~

@sporkii -- ha, yeah, i tried to make the skintones noticably different to avoid that confusion, but i probably should have made the contrast between them more stark. :B

@dr. v -- it's just i.. how am i supposed to so enjoy drawing something that doesn't have hips emo

@page boy -- <3
haha, i don't knooow. when i first started going for it, after attempting to draw anime fanart and finding it horribly boring, the first gallery i ever spent a good amount of time at was elfwood (lulz), which introduced me early on to artists like wen hsu and stephanie pui-mun law (i actually just checked back there to find their names, ha. man, i loved wen hsu)~ and i think a big part of why i draw girls in the manner i do is growing up with that body type, esp. big hips, prodtruding hipbones, feet with high arches.. it's easier for me to build upon what i'm familiar with, and i've always been attracted to girls with that slender-but-voluptuous thing going on, so i guess i've surrounded myself with what i like to draw.
the only serious art class i took was in my freshman year of high school, the ap art program they had there, which i quit after a few months due to not finding it that rewarding.. :/ i've never had the opportunity to take a figure drawing class or sit in on a class with a live nude. ;;

my boys are not that interesting~

and and
thank you all for the kind comments i didn't address. heart

well, i'm sure that just as with anything else, if drawing boys was something you really liked enough to do all the time they could be just as interesting.

or maybe everyone just likes looking at the female form that much more.

I guess i'll jst keep at doing what i do. I've taken a number of traditional art classes, although i have very very little experience sketching the human body from life. I can relate to what you said about drawing what's familiar to you. Most of my females unless i put in conscious effort other wise tend to have a body type similar to mine: slender, long legged and slightly boyish/athletic. i still think it's funny how drawing a pair of really nice boobs and an a** is a bit of a challenge for me, if i want them to come out really really nicely. Feet, hands and legs dont give me nearly as many problems.

i just gotta practice X3

um as for your WIP, with what i can tell from the far leg, it's draw as though she were sitting more side ways to the viewer, but her butt is definately drawn facing the viewer, so maybe we shouldn't see as much of the profile of her leg, and it could be foreshortened from behind more.

i'd really love to red line it but i dont have a tablet with me at home e___e;;;

i really love being able to see that whole 'artists subconsciously place parts of themselves in their art' thing in effect; it's pretty remarkable when you see a photograph of someone and notice some resemblance to the way they've come to draw people~
ha, yeah; i rarely draw huge boobs or anything because i just.. don't know how they really work. :'D
i like your way of going about anatomy. :3

that's how i initially drew it, with her leg sticking directly out and basically hidden from view apart from her lower calf/foot, but i couldn't get it to look right to me. j~j
