One day in the land of Gaia, a girl named RaikouNeko received a random donation from a generous benefactor. Very excited, she went to the GCD forum to tell everyone how wonderful it was for someone to give so freely that way. RaikouNeko I have just received the biggest donation of my Gaian life. When I first saw the trade icon light up, I clicked on it thoughtlessly. Then I saw that I had a trade waiting on me, titled "Happy Holidays!" I thought, "Oh, another donation? I wonder how much gold is in this one. Gosh, I feel so loved." So I click on it. And what do I see? I glance down at the gold amount. 0 gold. Puzzled, I look up. Then I see it: A Whip of Ice. The very item I was attempting to get this weekend but couldn't because of homework. In shock, I offer the 0 gold. Shortly thereafter, a confirmation comes, and I also confirm. I go to my inventory and the Whip of Ice is there. After the numbness fades away, my natural paranoia kicks in. "OMGZ! WHAT IF IT WAS OBTAINED ILLEGALLY! WILL I GET BANNED? AUGH!!!" For a few pages, people commented on how lucky she was, and what their favorite donation had been. This went on for a while...
...and then it happened. Someone else got a donation. And someone else. Then another, and another, and before we knew it, people were giving and exchanging all over the thread!
For 24 hours this went on, and now here's a guild; thank you MingSao!
So, how did you get here? かえない

Pretty much what you said up there. xD I was reading through the threads and realized that I hadn't yet given anything to anyone on Gaia this holiday season so I figured now was as great a time as any. Then it sorta escalated from there?

I'm a lurker. ninja Been lurking in the GCD for about 6 months. And then, I saw The Thread. And everyone was having SO much fun. So I donated a little. (Some tickets to Ming I think was the first thing).. and I was like Oh!! and then I went crazy, used all my gold just giving to everyone and started posting like mad.
Anyway, that's my story. rofl

Yesterdays thread made me nostalgic for the like-minded spree of last february, where I made a great many amazing friends.
This year, it turned out to be the same! Hanging out with some really great people in a thread, targeting the next person who you wanted to make happy... it's really a great feeling! Everyone wins! You give some, you get some, you make awesome new friends!
This is definetley something the community needs more of. and I'm glad this guild is here to protect the spirit of it all!

I lurk a lot in GCD because I'm usually too afraid to post anything. But that one thread in that forum changed me quite a lot. I posted about a person who lovingly donated to me some expensive items and then I decided to start giving out my unused items to people as Christmas presents. I started talking to the people in the thread and I just kept donating and donating and then well...here I am!
All I can say is that I hope this guild gets uber-huge so we can spread that same cheer to everyone. (:

I hope so too! I'm a lurker by nature myself 3nodding I have learned to speak up a little, but my instinct is to watch from the sidelines, and comment only when necessary. But the thread was so much fun, I had to stick around! ;D

I too, am usually a lurker in the GCD. I had actually made a thread about my donating randomly to people and how good it felt... but I ended up abandoning it for the thread that snowballed into this guild. whee
So yeah. I'm here because I gave away a shitload of donation items.
