Don't worry. This happens to everyone occasionally. There are several ways you can fix this. You can:

1. Faze through the scene.

2. Continue playing the part by yourself untill you can rejoin the rest of the group.

3. Ask for the group to help get you back into the story.

Fazing through the scene.

For this to work, you have to view a role play as you are all writing a single story. You should be able to place all your posts together with a little bit of work and be able to make a book from it. This can open a lot of possibilities for your story.

If you are so far lost, like locked in a closet alone in a corner (Joke) but don't exactly know how you will get out of the situation, then you can always do a 'faze' techniques. Consider it this way when you do this, what your character is going to do is not relevant to the story, so you can leave it out and 'faze' through it.

Example: War decides to go and train by himself for a year in the mountains. For that year, nothing really happens. You don't know what to post so you can do this, 'War decided it is time for him to train before the judgment day arrives. He walks to the white mountain tops to train by himself. He stays there for a year, surviving on his own, by hunting and using his powers over the flame to stay warm.'

I just 'fazed' through the whole year. I didn't need to say that he trained by hunting a fox on the first day, then went fishing on the second day, frying the fish with his fire techniques. They don't need to know every step he made in the leaves that crunch beneath his feet in the fall, just before the snow falls. Of course this only works for this example because everyone is training for the year, so he is still on the same time as everyone else. You don't use this when you are training for a year and everyone else in not, for then you are a year older and the rest of the players are still a year behind you.

Confusing I know. Better example to follow.

2. Continue playing the part by yourself untill you can rejoin the rest of the group.

You do this when what your character is doing is important, or you can't figure out how to 'faze' through it properly. You just skim over the facts of what your character does, try not to get into the nitty, gritty details. You don't need a post that takes an hour to read. The highlights untill you meet the rest of the group is fine.

3. Ask the rest of the group to help you get back with them.

Do this in ooc (quotes). They are usually more than happy to help get you where you are suppose to go.

The easiest way of getting unstuck, is to not get stuck at all. Try to stay with the group and do things that involve people. This should help people get, and keep a role play thread active. If you know you wont be on for a few days, leave a message telling them so. You group should understand, and then they can try and post around you, so as to keep your character in, but less involved.
