Is it legal for terachers to show religious movies in a class when they're not actually learning about religion?
Or like songs... do students have to sing religious based songs?
Because my friend is singing a song in her french cclass and even though its in french its still religious..
I'm just curious about that... is it like the pledge? or do teachers have that ability?

Well if it's a private schools teacher's can talk about religion just as long as they don't start saying that this is right and this is wrong based on their beliefs. Students don't have to sing a song or whatever, they can leave if they feel they are being put in an uncromfortable situation.

mmm k.
Just kind of how i see it if a student doesn't participate in something they get minus points and stuff. I figured that'd be the case but I didn't know if it was illegal to play or do something religious without giving them the right to step out.

Actually, if it doesn't have anything to do with the class, and the person finds it offensive, they don't have to do it. Even if the teacher threatens them, they don't have to. It's actually illegal in some (most I think) states to force children to do religious things if it is against the child's religion or beliefs (atheism counts). The same thing stands for standing to say the "Pledge of Allegiance", you don't have to do it if you don't want to.
Note: This is only true in some states, I actually think most, so check up on it first, I don't wanna get someone in trouble!
