Padding along Mugen's eyes were up towards the sky, head in the clouds, he was there too, flying again as he walked. Somehow he knew that nothing was in his path today except green grass blades that touched his side as he walked through the open area here in the roguelands.

Violet hues looked around, no one here, not even Eira? Strange, when had he wandered too far from seeing which way Eira had gone? Ah well, thigns were better between them, which made Mugen happier every moment. He had finally told Eira how he felt, and things were only going to get better, he knew that for a fact.

"What shall today bring as I fly?" he asked aloud. Perhaps a new friend yes? Would be nice, yes, would be very nice.

To those who had yet to meet him, the steely blue lion dancing about the savvanah must've looked completely insane. His eyes were shut tight, his paws moving about to some unheard beat. Worst of all, he was humming. Humming some unknown song he had made up right on the spot, which, in his mind, went perfectly with the melody nature had provided him with. The buzzing of bugs and the ruffle of grass had laid out a rhythm for him to enjoy. The birds were singing merrily to the backdrop, adding a beauiful harmony to his melody. All together, the African Orchestra put on quite a show. At least, to those who could understand it.

As he bounced about, not paying any attention to where he was going, he nearly crashed straight into a wild dog. Had he had been a lion of temper, he surely would've brawled it out with the creature. Had he been a lion of larger stature, there was a good chance he would've won. But his shorter than average hieght and content mood, coupled with a full belly, made him merely open his eyes in shock. "Sorry, stranger! Didn't see you there."

Mugen wasn't paying attention, he was flying, so nice, Eira was there too, had the most beutiful wings any could think of. They shined in the light of the sun, they were flying together, she was smiling, laughing, then they raced, he let her win. It was so nice in the sky, but then he came crashing abck down to earth when something hit him.

Getting knocked off balance Mugen rolled over but landed on his feet again. He shook his head and looked before him to see a lion. The lion apologized? Thatw as new. The lion also wasn't attacking him, perhaps he would be Mugen's friend? "Hello stranger, think nothing of it, I was flying, wasn't paying attention to what lay before me, my name is Mugen."

Perhaps it was unusual for the king of beasts to not attack something that could be considered weaker than him, but Juke had been a sort of pacifist since birth, and much prefered to expend his energy in dancing and humming. The only time at which he would turn tooth on another living creature was at dinner time, when he was especially hungry. It was the way of things, after all, and he couldn't go against something like that.

"I'm Juke." The male nodded as if it was a completely obvious fact. "Nice to meet you, Mugen." The rest of the dog's statement perplexed the musician for a moment, and he cocked his head subconciousley. Flying? The creature didn't have wings, though... Well, he had a marking of wings, but no real wings. Suddenly, he realized an explination for crashing was probablley in order. "I was dancing and humming."

"Dancing?" Mugen asked, tilting his head? Mugen didn't know how to dance, or hum, what was humming anyway? Like the birds sniging like they did? "Its nice to meet you Juke, I must say, your so much different from stories I've heard of rogue lions. I'm so glad I have run into one like you and not one of those like from the stories," he said with a nod.

Mugen sat back on his haunches, his tail wagging, "What brings you this way Juka? Heading somewhere or just out for a walk? Walks are nice, I like them myself when I go flyin," he said with another nod, a smile upon his maw all the while.

The rouges Juke had run into had always been pleasently pleasent. Then again, they were of his kind, so perhaps that had something to do with it. There were bad apples in every group of course, and perhaps that's where Mugen's stories had come from. "Dancing... Uhm, sort of like this." The small male bounced about for a few moments, closing his eyes and letting the rhythmic beat of nature take control of his body. After a short while, he stopped, coming back to reality, and smiled. "That's dancing."

At the next question, Juke had to think harder than he would have preferred. What really had brought him this way? Where was this way? He looked about him for a moment, taking in his surroundings. Oh yes, he knew where he was. "I was just out and about, really. Listening to today's song."

Mugen watched as Juke seemed to demonstrate how to dance. So it was like flying, only not flying. Like, closing his eyes like he did when he did fly, but moving his paws around to bound back and forth for random reasons? But was he supposed to bounce to a beat, then if so, what? Dancing seemed to be confusing, he wondered if Eira liked dancing at all.

"Dancing seemes interesting, flying is so nice though, the clouds are so nice to fly through," he said with a nod, tail wagging. "Today's song? Where is the song coming from,"Mugen darted his eyes around, saw no source for music that he could ehar. Strange, very strange.

"But how do you fly without wings?" Juke had finally posed the question, although he didn't want to seem rude. Perhaps the dog meant flying in a different sense, not totally like the singing birds. The confusion was whiped from his mind quickley however, as he himself was posed a question. How could he not hear the music? It was constantly on Juke's mind, always playing and replaying. It was different every day; some days speedy, some days slow. It always shaped his attitude, deciding for him if he were to be out going or soft spoken fr that particular day. "Well, it comes from everywhere. Can't you hear it? Listen closely..." The lion closed his eyes, focusing in on the tune. "Start with the wind. Listen closely. From there, hear the bugs and the beasts, and lastly the birds." The birds were always the stars of the chorus, stealing away every title. Juke had indeed tried to speak with them in the past, but they were always too high and to far off to hear him.

Hmmm, Juke did not know of the flying either? Perhaps he was the only one, the only special one. But then again, gods and goddesses had wings, so why couldn't he? Perhaps someday the wing markings on his back would be wings and everyone would know. Everything would be envious of the wings that he had, envious that he could fly.

"I do have wings, just hard to see the real ones, if you close your eyes and think of wings from your back, you can fly then," Mugen looked at his back and sighed, "These wings won't spread out yet, but they will, someday they will." Mugen listened to Juke and nodded, adn tried to listen to nature, it was working somewhat, but not as great as he thought it would be, but it was his first time. "I can hear it...somewhat..."

The lion couldn't help but smile. Hearing just a little of the music was still hearing, and it wasn't that often that anyone bothered to even so much as try. He sat down with a small thud, a grin spread on his maw from ear to ear. "Well, I'll try flying next time I'm dancing about." Juke nodded cheerfully, flicking his tail at a fly. Suddenly, he realized that he had never returned the question of why he was out and about. "So, Mugen... Why are you about in the rogue lands?"

Mugen smiled and curled his tail around him while he sat and smiled, knowing that Juka would try flying sometime. "Just out for a walk I suppose, to clear my thoughts, try and focus on what is important to me, flying helps me there, must be focused to fly amongst the clouds so high up you know," he said with a nod as if everyone knew that for a fact.

"Sometimes its just nice to get away, meet new friend."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2006 2:32 pm

The lion nodded in agreement, completely understanding that getting away was quite nice. He was currently a loner, though he honestly didn't want to stay that way forever. It was nice to be able to clear his head and dance without judgement, but on those days that he sought companionship, it was hard to come by. Perhaps some day he would join a pride, find a mate, have cubs. Those thoughts had drifted through his mind recently, though he was still rather young. Not even in his prime yet, just barely an adult. "Mm, yeah, being alone is nice sometimes. But then again, so is being with others."

"Yes, being with others is nice. I like being around Eira a lot, I've known her since we were little," he said with a nod. He had no doubt that someday he might come across Juke again and he might be with another, a female or a pride mate. Not all rogues stayed rogues forever, that he knew. Mugen himself wished to have a family, but sometimes he thought himself too childish to have a family, to be a father. But then again, that could be a good thing right?

He looked over Juke and smiled, "You, you have markings too, so interesting they are," Mugen was obsessed with the wing markings on his back. So he was also intrigued by Juke's markings as well.

Juke cast a sideways glance at his rump, examining his markings. The pattern had never been of much interest to him, really, nor had the coloration. It was a nightly color, and he was more of an early bird. Sometimes, the male found it quite funny how he was miscolored for his lifestyle, and how he should've been soem shade of pink rather than a slate blue like he was. "Thanks... I really like those wings." He nudged his head in the direction of Mugen's own coat, towards the pecular wing markings he shown. They were quite intricate, more so than his own, and the lion took a moment to admire them.

Mugen puffed his chest out at the statement about his wings. He was so proud of them, so very proud. "Thanks Juke," Mugen stood up and padded closer to Juke, tilting his head at the markings, "Sometimes markings mean something, the one there looks like a backwards wing, " he said motioning to Juke's back leg, "Then that one is swirling, perhaps you have swirling energy and happiness inside you, would that make sense?" Mugen always tried to find a depiction for others markings when he could.
