Shade moved slowly through an open field with snow covering the ground, her body was slightly bruised and battered but her muscles were bulging. She'd been training Vib forcing him to fight to the best of his ability.
The kalona mare let out a loud snort, the snow came up to about her knees and she hated it because it slowed her down.
Behind Shade little Morgana was moving with her head down eyeing the world ahead of them. The snow came up to the foals belly and chilled her to the bone. Morgana let out a loud sneeze and shook her whole body trying to get the blood flowing so she'd stay warm.
She'd been watching her grandmother and father fight, her father lost and was left with deep gashes apon his hide at all times. The fighting made Morgana want to be strong like the kalona she considered her family.

Calamity sighed contently, the violent green of his eyes hardly visible through his narrowed eyelids. He trekked slowly through the snow, both annoyed and resigned to the winter blanket covering his lands.
Shades scent wafted across his nose, carried by the biting breeze. He unflapped his great wings and took off across the pristine field, spotting his dark mare easily against the snow. As always, little Morgana was tagging along. She reminded him of Faust so much...and she'd probably end up just as damaged. Cal realized through much experience that inferior soquili tended to have issues when raised against the high expectations of the Kalona. It wasn't natural, and it always ended badly.
Landing almost soundlessly a few meters in front of Shade and Morgan, Calamity smirked softly and nodded in greeting to them both. "I wouldn't call this ideal weather for a walk, ladies."

She paused in mid step and shook the snow off her back, "indeed it is quiet a good day for a stroll." Her tail twitched back and forth behind her and nurged him with a wing "you don't look so happy to be out in it though."
She grinned flapping her own wings sending snow flying with each powerful stroke. She looked down slightly at Morgana, like her ftaher the sparkling filly hated the snow bound land but she delt with it alot better than Vib.
Morgana stared at him silently for a long moment then nodded "hello Calamaity." She twitched her tail lazilly across her flanks, soon she'd be large like them and she could really get Shade to fight with her.
For a moment she thought of Misfortune and wondered wher ehe was at the moment. Shaking her small head she strode forward between Shade and Calamity.

"Guten Abend, Morgana." On his still-undicussed travels several weeks back, he'd found a land with soquili that spoke thickly with the same foriegn accent Shade pronounced. He found it curious fun to slip in bits of the phrases he had learned from the Kalona there.
"Ah, well...this weather neither pleases nor displeases me. It is what it is, and even I cannot change that. So, are you going to tell me why you're walking with the slightest limp? I probably wouldn't have noticed it without the snow tracks..."
He jutted his chin in the direction the pair had walked from. Sure enough, one of the steps dragged a bit longer than the others. Calamity raised an eyebrow at Morgana, telling her to take notice. Tracking was an important part of hunting...of being a Kalona. As such, he knew quite well that he had lied. He certainly would have noticed NightShade's limp without the snow. But he had his reasons for blurring the truth.

Morgana twitched her ears then spoke up herself "She's been teaching daddy to fight yo the best of his abilities...and take a beating like a stallion." She stamped a hoof in the snow and shook herself, her eyes noted the snow tracks that they both made then shook her head saying that she udnerstood.
Shade chuckled deeply at Morgana "i have been training him, he did get one good kick on my leg and that would be why i have a rather bad limp." Her leg hurt like hell but she'd never admit it.
"So you've been to my homeland have you?" She shuddered att he thought and for a moment she feared that he might have met some ghostly figure from her past. She shook the fears away and looked at him once more.

"I've been many places, love." He smirked and paused thoughtfully, his eyes focused not on Shade, but little Morgana. His adament dislike for Vib was not particularly well hidden. How to admonish Shade for helping that worthless creature without hurting the filly's feelings?
He cursed himself the moment the question crossed his mind. Better she learn now that later how useless and pathetic her father was. "I still cannot comprehend how you spend any amount of time around Vibrant Shades of Death without hurling. I could not do it."
His lip curled upward into a sneer. "Why do you waste your time around him? It's beneath you." He wanted to say more, but held his tongue for the moment.

Shade chuckled softly 'All are beneath us Calamity, why not put them i ntheir place even if they think it's to 'help' them?" Shade tossed her mane, she may have been injured but it didn't hurt her pride. Shade had fought Vib with a blood lust forcing him back into a corner till he snapped and lashed at her with blind fear and furry.
"Lessers need to learn their palce in this world, there may be fewer kalona but we are superior, and it's time they learn that lesson." She snorted loudly and laced her ears back for a moment.
Morgana didn't mind the mean words said about her father didn't even make her flintch, atleast not on the outside. She enjoyed this talk for the most part, even if she too was a 'lesser' in their eyes.
Morgana's ears twitched listning to the sounds around them. The world was so bland with the snow drifts covering it, but atleast the flowers were gone.

"Ah well. You will do as you please." He shrugged nonchalantly, resolving himself to have words with Vib if he ever had the misfortune of running into him again. He would not deign to order his mate around, but he would give Vib every reason in the world to never come near his lover again.
"So," he began, changing the subject before it spoiled his even temper, "what other mischief have you two young ladies engaged in?"

Shade threw back her head and let out a laugh, it was dark, cold and calculating. Shade was beating Vib down for a reason and one that she would not divulge to anyone. The spark in her eyes was great filled with an unsettled bloodlust.
She paused nostrils flareing as she caught the scent of a small herd nearby. Every muscles in her body was tensed like coiled springs ready to release their energy. She grinned again the glow brightning, if any had even through Shade 'kind' they had never seen her like this. She liked her lips brushing her tongue over the sharp fangs that lay hidden beneath her muzzel.
Morgana watched Shade tense then looked up at Calamity "we havn't been up to much, i'm just waiting to grow," she stamped a hind hoof, the filly was impatient to be big so she could train with Shade and become strong and begin putting her own plans into action.
Her deep red eyes followed SHade's two toned ones and she stared into the distance she couldn't se eor smell the herd beyond the next hill but just by Shade's actiosn she knew they were there.

Calamity laughed at little Morgana's impatience. "It will come, soon enough. You'll miss the simplicity of childhood then, too. The grass is always greener, as theysay."
His attention was pulled from the filly to her surrogate mother, who now had all the appearance of a starving cougar. He caught the herd's scent, but marvelled at the changes it had made in dear Shade. "Someone is either very hungry, or very much needs to slake her urge to kill. But which could it be? A little of both, perhaps?"
Calamity laughed and narrowed his eyes, his green irises glittering bemusedly.

The her tail was twitching, but only slightly the spade barely moving an inch from side to side. She laughed suddenly a dark blood curdling thing that echoed from her throat, "no i'm saving that for two things a unicorn or a ghost from my past."
She narrowed her eyes and stared into the distance again as if that 'ghost' was gonna come flying in from her homeland to land infront of them. "Ghost indeed..." she was talking more to herself than to Cal and Morgana but she suddenly turned and started walking once more.
Morgana was standing there for a moment confused her tail twitching lightly then she turned to look up at Calamity above her. She pranced forward again to catch up to the black shape ahead of them who seemed to be waling stiffly muscles still poised and tight.
She looked up and spoke quietly to Cal now "she speaks often of these 'ghosts' i'm not quiet sure who they are because she won't tell she just bottles it up and hides it from everyone, but i sometimes thinks when she attacks my father as she does she's actually seeing someone else in his place. Who am i to say for sure i cain't climb into her mind and see what she's thinking."
