Once again, comes Mel's yearly (? XD) effort to make the guild more active.. like it used to be. -insert reminiscing here- Anyway, GROUP has been falling into a mess of inactivity due to your crew's school and life problems. So we'd like to have some suggestions of activities etc. that we could do to get new members, and make old ones active again.
My one idea was to remake my advertisement thread in Registered Guilds. That's about it. XD
Oh, and make new threads. New threads are awesome. <3

i really like the story we made up 10 words at a time, we could hold a contest to write a really good story, winner gets something, maybe have a bunch of different subject books (i.e. fantasy, sci-fi, etc.) and have discussion rooms in each, maybe a different book for each subject, hold a poll for favorite kind of book. i'll post again if i think of more

Sorry if this sounds.. er mean (?) but lately it seems as if the book of the month gets decided upon kind of late. I haven't been on for awhile, so it might just be me.
And I understand if people don't really like this idea, but maybe we could have threads for recommendations for certain genres (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, ect) or new books that are coming out.

hmmm...
what about some threads or something on different authors that people have spoke about and know of etc. and ppl can write when books are due to be published etc. stuff like that.
yeah more activities and stuff tht'd make more people join and def making it seem more fun lol.
Hmmm... i had an idea and it's gone . . . I get realy confused and things about the book of the motnh and stuff lol so maybe making it easier some how and making it so that people actually know what the book is about so there could be a section that says book of the month then a smaller one inside that saying ideas for say January 07 then people could write their suggestions and maybe a reason and that and then after 1 or 2 weeks maybe decide overall right this is the book then do a title of some kind saying what the book is and the author for that month. If it was for January 07 though decide halfway through dec 06 so in the month before or even 2 months before os people have a chance to get the book because in some cases people may have to hunt around a bit for it.
What about if there were sections for the different authors overall so there would be for example:
Darren Shan.
Malorie Blackman.
etc.
and then in each of those a series like in
Darren Shan - Saga of Darren Shan - Demonata
Malorie Blackman - Noughts and Crosses.
ETC.
If you know what i mean.
Can't think of anything . . . Adding morepolls and even bringing in different things such as movies relating to books and that. Soliek talking about movies that have been made into books liek typically Harry Potter,Lord of the Rings, Series of Unfortunate events, etc. theres loadslol.
I don't know anyway have fun thinking lol my hed hurts... sweatdrop blaugh dramallama llama!!!!

I have another one cause i went from the guild and came back and it's not very attractive if you know what i mean lol it's just a bit blah... sorry... so maybe if it was more brighter, funner, more interesting blaugh blaugh

It's me again hehe. I thought what if you or someone (not me lol) can create a reeeeally cool sig. that you could give to people who are members and that like me and Bemused Dreamer etc. which would help to advertise the guild more if there was a link on it as well and stuff hehe what do you think... blaugh I'll probably be back again with another idea hehe maybe smile

thats a good idea! like it could say G.R.O.U.P.! and all around it could be a cool logo! im new here and the way i found it was because i searched the guilds for books, if i saw that sig i would have been here long before

double post sry but i know we could put like those card things like they have like those GIB cards and stuff cause i saw one for like a guild it was runescape guild but we could make one for Are guild and put it in sig

Another thing we could do, which would be totally unrelated to books, though, are like a big time event once a year. In another one of my guilds that I'm in, there's a huge Christmas donation thing where members with a certain amount of posts in the guild can wish for something and (using funds that are donated by the members) the items are bought. And in another guild, we have a mini-convention where there's little shops set up and the guild is made public for one day so that non-members can visit, too.
I like the new banner idea and revamping the main page. And if someday I get motivated enough, I MIGHT be willing to try making a banner (won't be that pretty, probably).

Hey, ouuu yeah that open idea sounds like it could be gud and work hehe. Having post prizes etc. would be gud as well might interest more people. Yeah that card idea sounds good that people coudl put on a sig yeah cuz i mean if we all were to put about this guild in our sig sumthin interesting and tht and with a link then i reckon there'd be loads more people join up and i need a new sig hahaha. blaugh blaugh blaugh I'm gona look at other book guilds etc. if any lol and see what they've got to try and rob ideas might be back again blaugh blaugh blaugh blaugh ninja here i go. . .

I have been on the hunt and there are lots of other book guilds and they have nice banners and pics and different stuff also i found a guild that does a monthly book as well this months is a series of unfortunate events i didnt even need to be a part of it to know what book it is this month hahaha! It was right on the front page nice and clear maybe you could do something like that which makes it clear so you could have January's book is : ...(title and author) and a pic or something like that and then have all the bit about what the guild is and stuff like that you might wanna check it out i can't remember name ill have to go look again and come bak (yet anohter post sorry) but yeah maybe that's an idea.

well,2 days ago the ideas i'll put here seemed original but now it isn't any more emo anyway.
I love the idea of this guild.I may start a 10-word-story sometimes but with more strict rules so it won't go astray.
I had these ideas:
1-Membership cards:If the crew agreed,I can make them at fair prices,10g each.(because i love the guild)
2-Another subforum:It'll be called "summary contests"for example.Members who read the book of the month can make a summary of it.Then,there will be voting on the best summary of the book of the month.The winner will get a prize.There will be a guild mule that will receive an entry fee for the contest e.g.500g.An item will be bought for the winner by the sum of entry fee went to the guild mule.people will get prizes and those who couldn't have the book will know what it is about.
