The Tavern's fireplace is warm, cosy and inviting, the perfect place to come and chat amid the gentle hisses and crackles of the log fire. Welcome!

Last night I started a Nightmare on Elm Street Marathon (Ijust bought the box set of films), soooooo good, but it did give me the wigginses. Got the other half to watch tonight (films 5, 6 + 7). That's about it, how about you?

Hello guild siblings.........

I like the Nightmare on Elm Street Saga, I have seen up to part 4. And another thing.....Freddy would kick Jason's a**, hard core,.....I just finished reading Eragon, WOW what a great book. I sincerly recomend it. I just started reading the second in the trilogy titled Eldest. So far it is equily good, I am a third of the way in and Im still waiting for the action to start. I hope it doesnt dissappoint. The third and last is scheduled to release next year some time. So untill it hits the shelves I have "Dantes Inferno" on deck.
What are your fave reads? What have you read lately?

I totally agree about Freddy! And to boot he has a wicked sense of humour for a horror film villain.

I will have to give Eragon a go if it's that good. At the moment I am totally hooked on books by James Clemens and Trudi Canavan. Two excellent fantasy writers, they both have one series out already and are midway through their second!

Oh, and it's good to see a new face in the guild other than me and the Major, welcome!

@ Crafty - Nightmare on Elm Street is class, but I've not seen no.7, any good?
I've not been up to much, y'know. Went fishing the other day, didn't catch any thing tho'.

@ Cernunnoz - I'm not big on Fantasy books, I do read horror, but I get bored easily so the story has to be relatively fast paced. I'm currently reading The Secret of Crickley Hall (James Herbert), I'm only half way through but so far, it's brilliant.

number 7 is good, but it lacks the sense of humour that the others have because Freddy isn't Freddy as such.....I won't say any more as I don't want to spoil it if you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a watch though mrgreen

thanx for the tip Major. I will look into that one. Though I do lean twords the fast paced fantasy I do pick up a horor from time to time. My two faves are "IT" and " The Shining" by the Great Steven King. I have been promising myself to do some classics, I believe I said earlier that, I have "Dantes Inferno" on deck. Is that considered a horor??? The last good movie I have seen is " Meet The Parents" Extremely funny!!!

Steven King rocks! I used to have all his books but when I moved house I had to have a bit of a clear out, though I love horror I do tend to go for fantasy now, particularly if the story is complex. I like to have things to think about!

I never read Dantes Inferno, you'll have to let us know if you find it a good read.

@ Major - I forgot to ask earlier, what type of fishing do you do? Personally not my cup of tea but my partner sea fishes a lot as we live by the coast.

I love living by the coast so very much....I used to fish all the time when I was younger. Since my family moved here to the coast we have tried fishing. My daughters love it ( but I do bait all the hooks). The treasured fish to catch here is a nice big Ling cod...........It is very relaxing just hanging out at the waters edge and we spend alot of time talking and laughing and bonding.

I rarely get to fish in the sea, I live more inland. I tend to go fishing in local rivers or take a day out to go to a lake, it's so peaceful and relaxing and a good laugh to go with some mates and take some beers.

EDIT 15th DECEMBER - I see you have gone for a new look Crafty, and very nice it is too redface

Awwww, thanks Major. I love the collectibles but they didn't go with what I was wearing, so I have had to completely change my look!

I also thought it was quite festive~ish

I was worried, for a moment there I thought that you had gotten to close to the warm crackling fire here.....lol.....what a relief.

It is my little one's 2nd birthday tomorrow! We had a little party yesterday, I posted some photos in the new photo album thread, hope you all like them.

As for Christmas, now that I have bought all the food and sorted everything else out yes, I am feeling pretty festive but also really nackered and we aren't even there yet.....Perhaps I should hibernate for a week or so to prepare?
