Sid was of a mind to take a late night stroll through the village, though the mood only struck after he had bad it through the better part of a bottle of vodka. With his mind buzzing and his liver reeling, he ambled over to the community message board to see what was new. It was a little hard to focus on the words, but the theatre flyer caught his eye. It was touching, it was inspiring, it was enough to make him go back to his duplex and get a red pen.

He wasn't exactly in the right frame of mind for editing, but it was something that he was coherent enough to correct the worst of it. Mission accomplished and with still a good amount left in the bottle, Sid went down to the lake to find Billy. As he emerged from the jungle it occured to them that nearly every time to came to visit he had liquor on hand, which at the moment struck him as being funny... as opposed to just sad.

Billy had thankfully just come back from a successfull fishing trip, and with four fat fish strangled in various tentacles and one half gobbled hung from his half formed beak. He crawled through the shallows over his smooth rock to comfortably sit back against the bank to eat it. He liked this time of day when no one was out swimming and splashing and... dirtying his lake. He froze and looked up at the tiny dancing little lights befor he could hear anyone approaching, and he wondered if the shock of the oxygen had sent his mind into the beginnings of an acid flashback.

Sid was too drunk to give much thought of how he must look from a distance at night, which these days was one of his main reasons for drinking. Alcohol was a wonderful, glorious thing that made him forget about the fact he glowed in the dark, had teeth like needles, and... Damn it, he was thinking about it again, but at the very least it kept him from caring much.

He trudged over to Billy's lake, bottle in hand, and by way of greeting he said, "I saw your note."

"Shite! S'bloody you! S'bloody mad th'way yerarse glows, mate, y'know tha'?" Billy sighed, the fish dropping with a sad plop in the water in front of him. "Wha' note?" He thought for a moment as the fish wobbled closer, and then lit up in realization, "Ah! Aye, y'saw th'flier? T'ink anyone'd be interested? I figure people coul' do jes'... wha' e'er, and we coul' watch 'em look li' idiots n' sech."

"I think so... I just... you coulda..." Sid shook his head and took another drink, which really wasn't helping him to find a tactful way to say things. "Where'd you learn to spell like that, man?"

Billy twitched and coiled his limbs to hoard his fish protectively against his chest, "Spell li' wha'?" His smile had fallen into a frustrated frown.

Sid shook his hand and held out the bottle as a preemptive peace offering. He knew he shouldn't have said that, but currently his already feeble voice of reason was drowning. "Nevermind. I fixed it."

Billy glanced over the bottle befor offering up one of his fish, "Wan' anytin' t'eat? I jes' wen' shoppin'."

Sid's first impulse was to politely decine, but who was he fooling? "Sure, why not?" He took the fish and reminded himself it would help ease the coming hangover just a little if he ate something. Eating the thing raw and whole didn't bother him nearly as much as it should have. Maybe it was the alcohol in his system, glossing over all the unpleasantness, or maybe he was just getting used to it... Hopefully it was the alcohol.

Billy traded the dead fish for the bottle, and took a welcomed swallow, "Wha' d'y'mean y'fixed it? Y'better no' ha' ruined me flier, tha' t'ing took nie' on' t'ree hours t'scrawl!" He may have been exhagerating, he may not have been.

"Oh, I didn't ruin it," Sid said, wincing at the feeling of the fish working its way down. "I just... Nevermind, it's fine."

"Point taken." Sid glanced back down the way he came. "Anyway, I just stopped by to say... I admire your penmanship. And if you want, you could, y'know, let me proofread stuff."

"Eeh," He wove a tentacle dmissively, taking another swig befor offering it back, "Sushi's best when y'catch it yerself, eh?" Regardless of his frustration with his own illiteracy, it was reassuring to spend time with someone who didn't cringe at the idea of fish heads.

"I suppose so... Haven't tried a yet," Sid said. If it did, he'd likely only have his teeth to rely on. The thought made him gesture for Billy to hand the bottle back. Why did he have to keep thinking about this crap?
