Aila stood in the gymnasium, stretching out herself. It wasn't that she was performing-- she'd given that up long ago and really did prefer to be behind the scenes-- it was more habit than anything else. Being in the gym meant limbering up. Besides, it wasn't like she let her skills get rusty, nor her body. She was still in good enough shape to perform if she decided to go back to it.
The woman smiled at the couple of other performers gathered. She knew all of the older performers that would be playing the larger roles. Only a few of them were here, though. They were warming up as well out of habit-- they'd be spending the practice helping out the new performers with their parts, as Aila could only be in so many places at once.
There was a feline boy, Ryuk, who was going to play the part of Frosty. His pristine white fur gave off the perfect impression of snow, and they had some ideas for a modified costume to make the part even more, but it would not take much. He was a sweetheart, and everyone loved him-- another reason he'd been assigned to the role.
The resident diva was cast as one of the children, and assigned to help with the trainees today. A dark-haired, dark-eyed woman of hawkish features, though human. Liara was not pleasant to be around, the complete opposite of Ryuk. Aila despised working with her, as she usually just made trainees feel worse about themselves more than she helped.
Now, all that was left was for the clock to hit the appropriate time to begin.

Ramajan had been glad - overjoyed really, not that he'd admit it though - to find his name on the cast sheet. He'd auditioned for a part and had actually gotten it! That was a major 'first' for him. He hadn't even looked at the other names in his excitement.
At just the appointed time - he wanted to be neither early nor late - Ramajan arrived. He was dressed in loose-fitting clothes and sneakers - though his gymnastic shoes were carried in one hand. He wanted to be ready for today.
He tried putting names to faces as he looked around, but he hadn't really met any of the older performers yet. He only knew a few by reputation. Such as "Prima Dona Liara" though he knew nothing of how she looked. And white-furred Ryuk, an easy enough person to spot.
Aila was also known to all, no matter what sort of talent you wished to showcase at Kalaido, she'd be there directing stage set-up. Without even really talking to her he liked her, mostly because he was interested in stage workings and hoped to get behind-the-scenes experience as well as hone his skills as a performer.

Shima was faintly surprised as she saw her name on the cast list. She hadn't been expecting it, but either way, getting in or not was fine for her. Shima couldnt deny she was happy she got in, but not very surprised either.
Shima had spotted Levana's name on the sun list. Surprisingly, Levana was the only trainee who tried for the sun, everybody else got snowflakes.
Shima walked into the room, with her earphones in her ear at a relatively medum volume, as she switched songs on her IPod.
Looking around for Levana, Shima came in a little after Ramajan. As she saw him inside the room, Shima felt a sense of dread.
He would be working on the trapeze with her. Shima walked through the door, trying to ignore him. Currently, she was wearing her hair up a long braid, black shorts.. that were short, a white long sleeved shirt, with a black sleeveless shirt over it.
Glancing at the teacher, Shima stared around, hoping the others would arrive soon.

The cast list had gone up and Levana had been ecstatic about getting the roll of the sun. Sure it wasn't a large roll but it was the largest offered to the trainess so Levana was pleased with getting it. Tem of course had to put his two sense in on the matter, exclaiming there was never any doubt she'd get the roll and Ima had concurred with im. Levana certainly didn't have the confidence they had since it had been her first time out on the trapeze but their confidence in her payed of.
So, dressed in a pale blue leotard with a deeply cut back, ballet pink tights, hair pulled up in a tight ponytail and gymnastic slippers held in her hands Levana entered the gym where practice was to take place. Upon entering her eyes moved directly to the director and none other than miss Prima herself, Liara. Upon looking upon the current star of Kaleido Stage Levana got the sudden sensation that Liara was not a person she'd want to become friends with. Those cold, calculating eyes were enough to put Levana off and cause her to scout Shima whom she had known gotten a roll as a snowflake.
Spotting Shima not far off, Levana walked over to her though she kept directing her attention to Liara to see how the woman was going to go about rehearsals and the treatment of the new trainees. Levana had made it up her head already that she wasn't going to back down from the woman. That cold stare was enough to light a fire in Levana and encourage the trainee to fight against whatever the current star could throw at them all.

((I hope it's okay that I post here....))
Arahila was more then a little depressed that she had not been well enough for the auditions and instead had spent that crucial day (and a few more after it) in bed. Slipping in through a side door she stayed as close as possible to the walls, watching the others enter and begin to warm up. She really didn't want to get in anyone's way, or even be noticed for that matter, so she didn't bother approching anyone or even waving at the people that she had come to know. A piece of her told herself that there wasn't really room for a contorshinist in "Frosty" and that she would have plenty of time to not only perfect that but other skills before the next show...but she still felt out of place and almost embarrassed to not be a part of it.
Maybe she could ask to help out back stage...? As the thought crossed her mind she looked around for the girl in charge. Aila...at least she assumed that she would be the one to talk to. THe thought quickly dissappeared though as Arahila's general social awkwardness took over. Why would they need help backstage? They have people assigned to that. I would probably just get in the way. So she resigned herself to sitting off to the side, in her black leotard and leg warmers, watching the others as she went about stretching. If she wasn't going to be in this production then she was going to practive like crazy to not only get in the next one put to get a part that she wanted. Stradling, she pushed herself into a full split and layed her body down flat in front of her, without almost any effort, and propped herself up slightly to ocntinue watching the others.

(( no probs))
Kayla trudged down the hallway towards the first practise for the upcoming production of Frosty. Up untill the night before she'd been pretty happy having landed a small role and been given a chance to work with soem of the people who'd made Gaia's Kaleido stage a sucess so far.
Then in her stupidy she'd watched a tape Rose had lent her. It featured a production done on Earth by their kaleido stage. Kayla's audtion paled in comparison to the things they could do and she felt like she'd only been accepted out of need.
On top of that she'd seen something amazing, a pair of girls had done a silk aerialist routine and Kayla had been inspired, she wanted to do that it was gacefull and silent but so moving. Unfortunately now that she had practise every day she'd have no time to attempt using the apparatus at all.
Walking into the practise Gym she tried to cheer up, she had a part and she needed to practise to do well with it and gain other ones. Glancing at the rest of the cast she hurridly began to stretch so she'd be ready when Aila started to give orders.

It had been one of the great surprises of his life when Shea had found his name on the Frosty cast list. It didn't help matters that he was on trapeze, a discipline he wagered he was even more horrid on than trampoline. When he had read the posting, it had taken every bit of his ability to summon a "happy place" so as to not to fall unconscious on the spot.
Still, he supposed it was too late for any of that sort of behavior. He had been the one to audition, after all. Shea clenched his cold, shaking hands and silently stepped into he gym. He had at least seen the majority of these people before in passing, but his hermitlike ways had kept him from speaking directly to any of them. He had no inkling that anyone present possessed diva qualities, or that others might have strained relationships. Shea was a clean slate. A clean, naive slate.
His wings flattened against the slits in his black, sleeveless shirt that had been specially cut for them. He padded over to where the others were and sat down on a tumbling mat, content to wait for further instruction before he did any wild stretching that might inadvertantly injure those around him.

Aila smiled at each of the trainees as they entered the room. She waved to a few of them as well, though she didn't know any of them very well yet. She'd been too busy sorting out the details of the play and hadn't had time to work with any trainees just yet.
She motioned to the floor before them, "Please, go ahead and start warming up. I'm just going to talk for a few moments, and it'd be wonderful if everyone was ready to go by the time I finished."
She motioned to her two assistants, and they began circulating amongst the trainees.
Liara of course zeroed in on whichever trainee seemed to be the most uncomfortable/shy and began offering suggestions in such a way as to make them feel even more inadequate (feel free to post this as you, if you feel your character would meet the description)
Ryuk, on the other hand, smiled warmly at Arahila, going over to her, "Hey, I know you didn't make it, because you were sick..." Ryuk made it a point to know the names and appearances of all the trainees so he could help them as much as possible, "But if you want to get involved somehow, which I think you do since you're here...you could probably talk to Aila. She's always willing to take help backstage."
Aila continued, "Congratulations on a successful audition, all of you that are here! It wasn't easy deciding which parts would be the best for you, but I hope you learned a bit about yourself in the process. These practice sessions will meet every other day, after your regular classes. I'm assuming you're willing to make that committment, since you auditioned."
She adjusted her hair self-consciously. She felt as though she ought to be wearing her mic, but she had taken it off so that she could concentrate on the kids, "If you feel now that you cannot, please speak to me in private and we'll see about finding you a replacement."

Arahila was surprised when she heard someone address her and sat up quickly, embarrassed to have been caught spacing out. She had secretly been daydreaming about having a part in Frosty...but that was besides the point. Coming out of her split, she stood smoothly and smiled awkwardly at the guy, soon placing him as the famous Ryuk.
"Oh...um, thank you. Do you really think that she could use my help? I've never done tech work before..." Her hands played with eachother nervously. Arahila had always been a slight fan of Ryuk and she was estatic that he was talking to her, but she was trying her hardest to not let it show. If she was going to be working here then she was going to have to be calm about dealing with her idols. "Is it okay to just walk up to her?"
((Out of curiosity, did you name him after the Deathnote character?))

((I had no idea Ryuk was a real name. xD I made it up. Liara too. <3 So no.))
Ryuk smiled, "Of course she could use help. We don't have that many people working here yet, so there's always too much to do and too few people to do it."
The furry boy turned to watch Aila, smiling fondly, "She does a good job with it, though. And sure, she doesn't bite..." he bared his fangs, "much." he teased, waving her in the direction of Aila and wandering off to help out another Trainee.

[[ I hope these assumtions I make about Liara are OK. She seems like the type to do a bit of studying up on people so that she knows just how to push their buttons. ]]
Once Aila indicated they could start their warm-ups, that's exactly what Ramajan did. He felt a bit disapointed that he'd only caught a glimps of Arahila, was she hiding or something? He hadn't taken the time to get to know anyone beyond names, but he already knew he liked Arahila. In a friendly way, he certainly wasn't thinking beyond friends at the moment.
His disapointment must have shown on his face, he figured as much as soon as he saw Liara heading his way. He likened her to a shark, from what he had heard. Seeing what could be weakness, she must have picked him out.
"There's certainly no juggling involved in Frosty," she said. It sounded casual as she circled him, like a comment on the weather. Ramajan tried to focus on his stretches, but he didn't take kindly to being picked out like this.
"Keep your breathing even while you stretch," she said, her tone suddenly switching to hold the authority she held before changing once more to that soft, amused voice. "It's not really a game suited to trampoline, now is it?"
She was trying to break his focus and it was slowly working. Game! He knew there were some that didn't take juggling seriousely, it irked him to no end.
[[ And I'll leave off at that for now. If it's allowed then feel free to take over Liara if you want her to move on to your character. ]]

Shima spotted Levana and ran up to her. Putting her hands up for a high five, Shima and Levana grinned at each other. Backing away, Shima sat down in the open area to warm up.
" Congrats! You made it as the sun. " Shima whispered, bending down to do a warm up. Shima was currently doing stretches, legs spread wide, as she bent down to straighten her back. Shima glanced around to see a woman with a cold expression, talking to Ramajan. Boy, Shima was glad she wasn't being commented by that women.
" You know, that lady over there? She looks like somebody who just got a gift of rotten meat. I wonder if her face .. is permanently that way. " Shima whispered to Levana.
" No offense of course. "
Shima glanced away, to look like she was doing her exercises in order to avoid Liara. She put her arms behind her back, to do sit-ups.
Boy.. I have no idea why I picked the trampoline. If I knew I was doing it with Ramajan .. I would of gladly picked the trapeze. Oh well. No use crying over spoiled milk. Shima may be a ditz and sleeping alot, but she hated to ponder on one subject.

Kayla listened to Aila and watched the other while she stretched, she wondered what practise would be like. Would they do the same move over and over again till it was perfect or the whole routine and sort make sure that everything was decent and then work on the bits that didn't look so good.
Kayla's biggest concern however was music, she was easily distracted by it and she liked to find the rhythm and dance. She hoped they started practising with the music soon becuase She was going to need to learn how to use it as cues but ignore it at the same time.
Finishing up she smiled at Shea, they were the only trainee in the room she didn't recognise so it must be him. Shea was supposed to be the other trapeze snowflake, Hopefully they'd work well togeather.

Shea stood slowly but remained hunched in on himself. He was certain that if Liara focused her attentions on him, they would never leave. He stretched for a few moments before noticing Kayla's smile. Tentatively, he returned it, edging over closer to her under the guise of some strange lunges.
"Hey, Kayla right?" he asked. Shea stopped his improper warmups and held out his hand.

(That would be awesome, Umbra. XD))
Levana grinned at Shima as she sat down on the floor to begin her stretches. Bending one legindian style,e stretched the other and proceeded to stretch down the extended leg. "Congrats to you for getting a snowflake roll."
The sound of Liara's voice cause Levana to look up to see who the poor victim was. Ah! The red-headed boy whom she had seen but never actually been introduced to yet. Raman or Rajam, something like that. Whether she knew the boy or not, Levana felt a bit sorry for him as Liara circled him like a predator would it's prey. "I think it might be." She chuckled. "Mother always use to say tha tif you kept your face in a bad position it would stay that way." Levana smirked then moved back to her stretching making certain to get every point of her body stretched out and limbre for whatever practice may involve. Afterall, she wouldn't want to dissapoint the diva of Kaleido Stage.
Well....if anything I'll be able to learn some things off of her while she performs.
