Due to issues which are in the past (meaning that we should forget about it so don't bring up any drama here) I think that we should have a rule stating that you cannot use anyones gaian username against them I.E. checking there PMs for placement PMs, etcetera.

I leave this thread for two days and come back to this? x.x Anyways HERE is the point of the rule...
You may not log into someones account to see if they have a position without their consent, you may not forwards the placement pm to anyone and you may not show it to anyone without the consent of the PM owner.
This is to ensure that a game doesn't end up ending early because someone goes onto someones account without the person knowing and getting this person sheeped. It has happened in three games so far and we can agree it's not fair. We can also agree that if you don't want this to happen don't give out your password BUT this rule is to ensure no one is sheeped because they have a placement pm due to the fact that someone snuck onto their account. If you or someone decides just to get one someones account for another PM and you happen to see the pm contact the pm owner and the GM immediately so it doesn't get out of hand.

You can't have rules against things that you can't prove. :/ It's impossible to know if somebody was in another person's account. If it's any consolation, it's already (or was?) against the rules to quote or screenshot the placement message.

Surrecrux, I'm sure he's is implying that if it IS found, then that person should be swiflty, but gently, delt with. We've had someone reveal positions out of boredom and log into accounts to "glance".
And the event where this happened before did not make it any better by that one person posting the crap instead of the one who did the offence.

I also support this rule.
It would not be fun if someone who didn't have a position knew more than they should.

Dukes is right, there shouldn't be any exceptions. Unless it's a mule account, you should see any inbox other than your own.

o.o I said view a lot. Estellio Estel I think Zae can back us up in saying that the idea behind the rules is to stop people gaining any proof whatsoever of another person's identity. If somebody else were to see their placement message, they will know, with 100% certainty, that person has a position, and therefore it ruins the entire trust aspect of the game. For example, if the newsreporter wanted to get into an alliance, and the other person/s didn't trust them, all they'd need is their password for absolute proof. The game's about playing with trust. Get what I'm saying?

But what I'm saying is that unless a person breaks Zae's initial rules by screencapping or quoting the placement message, they really don't have any proof, and we don't have any proof that they did it. ^^; If they were to break her rule, they'd be dealt with anyway, no? How about a better rule: "You must delete this message, and any other messages from me regarding your position, immediately after reading them"? That would be far easier to deal with. As for people reading gamemasters' sentboxes, um... how about we use a mule for sending messages? Only Zae, and the gamemaster, will know the password, and she changes it every game, in case the gamemaster gave the password to somebody else for a temporary update or something. I like what saxe is trying to do, I just think it could be dealt with better. ^_^;
