It was, as every other day, a sunny day in Gaia, save for the looming clouds which billowed over the sky, casting a large shadow over the city of Barton.
The silver-haired Legend was trotting down the street fairly quickly to keep herself warm, the two ghosts trailing behind her in a futile attempt to catch up. Mayu pulled the pink scarf wrapped around her neck tighter as the chill winter breeze began to pick up once again, making her wish she had chosen a warmer coat from her closet to wear before she had gone out so hurriedly on a walk, eager to see some snow as the weatherman had predicted. She had found her way to Barton since being disappointed that it was not snowing anywhere in Durem, in hopes that it would be snowing in the neighboring city -- and it was not, to her annoyance.
Mayu was wandering about the fountain area of the city at the moment, walking around the majestic fountain in large strides as she warmed her hands in her pockets, Miroku and Kuro desperately trying to catch up as she sped ahead. Finally, the Legend plopped down huffily upon a concrete bench and leaned her head back, unable to continue her mad pacing any more. The ghosts were happy of this, sitting down besides her to watch the fountain flow as they rested to catch their breath.
"" Kuro asked, lookng over to the tired child besides him for a moment before turning his head back towards the fountain.
"" Mayu replied, almost grimacing as the chill wind picked up again. ""
"" Miroku snorted, ""
All three let out a simultaneous sigh as they sat there on the bench, heads leaning back to watch the clouds float by.

Flying through the sky in a zigzag reddish streak was... a ufo! A flying bug!
Nahh, it was just Lue. Not that anyone else could tell, but if they looked hard enough, they'd notice that he was indeed a faint ghost, and had dimmed quite a bit in the last few months as of late. Whirling to a stop in the air, the fire spirit halted rather slowly and turned to swirl around one of the ghosts, a haunted, ashen look on his face.
"... need your help..." He moaned softly, staggering in the air as if he was drunk, fading in and out a bit as he spoke.

"" Kuro commented, eyes following Lue lazily as he hunched forward in the cold bench.
"dumbass,>" Miroku interjected, eyes also intent on Lue now as they watched the ghost swirl about in the sky. ""
"" the other started, shooting up in his seat --- and completely ignoring Lue in the process, stirred up by the impending fight that he and his friend were about to have on the color of fireflies.
The Legend, suddenly snapped back to Earth by the increasingly loud voices of the two ghosts beside her, started with a loud sigh and raised both hands up as she turned to face them, already coming up with ways in her mind to break up the fight. Her annoyed expression changed as she noticed Lue hovering besides them, however, completely ignored by the two bickering ghosts --- and it looked like he was trying to say something, as well.
Standing up and moving around the bench to avoid the commotion which was going on (and attracting a lot of attention, one might add), Mayu stepped up to Lue, placing her hands on her hips as she looked down at the ghost with an inquiring look.
"I apologize for those two beforehand," she said, wincing as her eyes turned to the fight for a second before looking back down at the ghost in front of her. "What do you need?"

"... your help..." Lue stated again, managing to speak louder this time, though flitted over to her and landed on Mayu's shoulder. His glow was eerily soft, as if it was a fire that was about to go out, and his gaze traveled down. Soft claws dug into her shirt as he huddled up into a small ball, trying to preserve the last bit of strength he had left.

"With what?" Mayu frowned, moving away from the bickering ghosts on the bench so that she could better hear Lue. This sounded exciting! Much funner than waiting around for the snow to begin falling, at least.
The Legend, fighting off another gust of cold wind, stepped over to a shady tree which she leaned against as she looked over to Lue with interest. The chatter was at a minimum over there, so she would be able to hear the ghost best without him having to strain his voice, as it had seemed earlier.

"... fading. Follow..." The lizard shook himself and moved forward, zipping back and forth slowly in a kind of zigzag line for Mayu to follow him, though he hovered a moment for her to catch up.
"I'm Lue..." He greeted himself, turning upside down. There wasn't enough in him to talk more.

Mayu followed as she was told, perhaps ignoring the old adage that told her to never follow a stranger to an unknown place.
"Mayu," she nodded, both eyes fixed on the lizard-ghost as she continued her trot. The ghosts would notice that she was gone and follow her, she assumed, giving a small glance over her shoulder at the still feuding couple as she continued to walk. She hoped they would, at least.

The place was in more shambles than it had ever been before. Most of the letters on the building had fallen off ages ago, and the only word that was spelled currently was 'BUST'.
Lue staggered for a moment, turning brighter before fading to the color he had once been, a lizardlike claw wavering up to point at the half-jammed door. The fire spirit opened his maw to speak, but found that no words had come out; he was speechless, it seemed.

Mayu's face contorted into a expression of confusion as she read the sign which was prominently displayed on the building, scratching her head as she mouthed the word silently. Not stopping to ask, however, the child looked over to the ghost for a moment before understanding that he needed to go in.
Stepping up to the door, Mayu pulled on the handle first gently, then with a hard yank as she realized that it wouldn't budge. With no success, the girl reared back to ram the door with her shoulder. Still with no results, and slightly annoyed, Mayu raised her foot to kick the door hard in the center.
The door creaked loudly on its hinges as it opened, slamming into the wall. Mayu poked her head inside the entryway, and deeming it safe, brushed the dust off of her ensemble and strolled in.

Lue silently gleed, raising his claws before zigzagging to her shoulder, laying there gently and feeling as light as a feather.
In silence, he raised a claw and pointed down the stairs, his eyes lingering on a patchwork coat that hung by the doorway.
Loki would need that. He was cold enough as it was, and Lue, as Loki's main spirit, could not feel anything - which meant that Loki was cold to the world. Not dead... just cold.

Mayu nodded, moving to step over the litter so that she could descend the stairs when she noticed Lue's eyes fixated on what seemed to be a light patch of fabric which was hanging by the door. Upon further inspection, she decided that it had to be a piece of clothing of some sorts, and looked over to Lue.
"You want me to take that?" she asked, not waiting for a reply as she took the coat off of the latch on the wall. "I hope whoever this belongs to doesn't mind," she muttered to herself, before turning back around to climb down the stairs carefully, a hand on the railing.
"Hello?" she called, head looking round as she continued down the stairs. "Anyone here?"

"Caaaaaaare...." Lue drawled on softly, resting on her shoulder once more. He was maintaining his form as best he could.
The stairs spiraled down quite a ways, torches lit on the walls to provide enough light to see where one stepped. When they got to the bottom, the lower bit of the stairs was broken off completely, a rather long jump so that whoever was down there, if able to be freed, would not be able to come back up.
It was no wonder why this place wasn't guarded.

Mayu moved down the stairs carefully, keeping her hand on the railing at all times. She jumped off the skip at the bottom and landed upon the floor, though stumbled slightly on the landing due to her heavy boots.
"Anyone here?" she called once more, fidgeting with the coat in her hands as she looked around the room.

A grunt was given from the far corner as Loki heard a sound, his ears flicking forward at the prospect of something new. He flattened them, however, as he thought the fact that they had come back to taunt him, to try to make him change, to try to make him remember.
But he couldn't figure out what they wanted to make him remember. Or rather, what they wanted at all. That one... the leader, the name escaped him at the moment... but he mentioned something about Loki staying for a long while. Forever, wasn't it?
Visibly, Loki flinched, unable to help but crack an eye at the incoming figure, his ears flattening even moreso than before. Farin. This was Farin.
He did not like Farin.

Mayu smacked her head as she looked back over to the jump in the stairs, realizing what big of a help it could have been if she had taken down a torch from the wall beforehand. She was fumbling around in the darkness with only Lue as her lightsource, and that wasn't quite enough for her to see around the room.
Her ear twitched slightly as she heard a quiet grunt, confirming that there was indeed someone --- or something --- in the room. She made way the best that she could towards that sound, trying not to trip over her own two feet in the dark.
Not able to see in the dark, the Legend obviously was not paying attention to what was ahead of her, focusing on her feet instead. Which was quite an invitation to either tripping or walking into a wall --- which was exactly what she did. Not having looked up to notice the faint glow of Loki's armor, she tripped over the boy quite easily and slammed her side into the wall.
