It seems like none of our characters ever meet because we're always in the Great Hall or our own Houses. Here's where we can all do stuff and work up a main storyline. 3nodding

((My reply to Karen as Lisha and Karen are walking downstairs to the Great Hall))
Lisha's lips tightened as she looked at the older girl walking next to her, "Then who can I ask? You tell me not to talk about it, but then you tell me to ask some one else, aparently it's something that only a few people know about!" She stopped in front of Karen and looked up at her, hands on her small hips, "Why won't you tell me?"

Karen laughed at Lisha's assertiveness. "How about we talk about it later, I'm starving. Aren't you hungry at all?" Karen tried to avoid talking about what had been going on. She walked past Lisha, poking her playfully in the arm. "Come on, you didn't eat much last night."

Helena looked up at the two Gryffindors who had just walked in, curious about what they were talking about. When they glanced over at her, she looked back down at her plate quickly, blushing. She hoped they didn't think she was spying on them or anything. Gryffindors and Slytherins didn't get along, but she didn't care about the stupid rivalry and she wished she could make friends as easily as everyone else without getting slaughtered by her Housemates or shunned by the Gryffindors.

Ellen had her nose in a general European history textbook as she walked around campus. She had to read half of it as soon as she could so her mom didn't yell at her when she came back for christmas. Studding two different sets of curiculums was always hard, but it was even harder when you didn't care about the other set. She almost ran strait into Helena, but turned ever so slightly enough to avoid a collision. "Sorry," she mumbled in her blantant American axcent. She was a good head shorter than the other girl, but didn't bother her as she passed. She had to get passed the crusaides first.

Rikkel was in her usual place. The Library. Even though classes had not started yet, she was reading up on everything that she would be studying this year. On one side she had a large stack of books she hadn't read, in front of her three books were open, to the other side she had an even larger stack of books she'd finished and still needed to put away. She scanned the pages, trying to soak in as much information as possible.

Helena stopped just in time as well.
"Sorry!" she called after the girl. "My fault..." she trailed off. The other girl was immersed in her book and didn't seem to hear her.
Just like everyone else, she thought as she let out a sigh. And speaking of books, she'd completely forgotten that she had a start-of-term test to study for. She sprinted back into the hall and towards the library, nearly running into a snide Slytherin in her year. ((I'd say Malfoy, but no one's told me if that's the way we're rolling yet...))
"Hey, what's the rush, Evans?" he caught her arm. "Why don't you come and hang out with me and the guys?" He tried to put his arm around her, but she ducked out smoothly, blushing in embarassment as she continued towards the library.
"Hey, I'm talking to you Evans!" he started chasing after her, laughing. She ducked into the library and hid behind a stack of books set up on one of the tables, hoping he hadn't seen her come in. He and his boys continued past, and she sighed with relief, not noticing the girl who was reading the books.

Ellen looked from her book as she heard some boys taughing the girl also headed toward the library. She glared and faked a stretched. She raised the book up then brought it down too quickly, making the book fly out of her hand (aiming it at the groups leader). It hit the boy squarely in the head and made him learch forward. "Sorry!!" she cried, using her best acting skills. She rushed over to get her book back before he blew it to smithereens. Textbooks were expensive!!

As she closed one book and put it on the growing stack, Rikkel noticed someone trying to hide behind it. "You can use any of those if you need them. I'm done with them." she stated. The pages of the other two books in front of her fluttered as she breezed through them. ((speed reader))

Helena grinned, watching her annoying cocky Housemate fall to the floor as other looked on and laughed. Then she jumped at Rikkel's voice, knocking the whole stack of books to the floor.
"Sorry!" She blushed again and started stacking the books back on the table. Sometimes she still felt like a little girl, despite the fact that she was a 7th year.

Rikkel jumped up at the sound and saw what happened. She helped gather up the books, and hoped she wouldn't get yelled at for the noise. "Its okay. I was done with these ones. Do you want to help me put them away?" Then she noticed that the girl was older and in Slytherin, and wished she could get that question to crawl back into her mouth and stay there.

Karen looked around the Great Hall and changed her mind almost automatically about eating breakfast. She hated it when it was too crowded. "Hey Lisha, I'm going to the library," she said. "You can come if you want. I'm going to skip breakfast."
She left the Great Hall and headed toward the library. She passed a group of grumpy looking Slytherins. "Watch it, Gryffindor scum," the tallest one grunted.
"Oh shove it," Karen said defiantly.
"Why don't you make me," he smirked. Karen wanted to shove her wand in his face, but she didn't. She continued to the library, ignoring their taunts.

Even though it had been some time since Elliot had started school, he couldn't help but feel a little bewildered at how warm and cozy the Great Hall felt despite its size, and especially during this time of year. He quietly allowed a wide berth for anyone going to or coming from getting their breakfast like him, so it took a little longer for him than others to get to the food. After taking a bit of toast, bacon, and scrambled eggs onto the plate he picked up, he carefully walked over to the Ravenclaw's table, taking a seat and starting on the food while going over the lessons he'd finished studying earlier in the morning.

Helena grinned broadly at the chance to prove herself. "No problem!" she exclaimed a little too loudly. "Sorry," she mouthed in the direction of the librarian, who simply shook her head before going back to helping some first-years find their way around.
"I'd be glad to help you," she said more softly, smiling kindly. "After all, I did knock them over in the first place. I'm Helena by the way; Helena Evans." She held out her hand.

With braod smile Rikkel shook the hand that was held out to her and stated, "Rikkel Hunt. Ravenclaw, second year." She grabbed half the books and headed for some shelves.
