Most of the Gundam based games have increasingly became more interactive and attention drawing. From the days of the SNES, Gundam has had it's title in the play of games. I just find it amusing that some of the earlier games are more addictive than current titles.

If anyone remembers Gundam : Endless Duel. I found myself playing that game nonstop for weeks. Epyon..meh.. he annoyed me. ( Yes. for two weeks I was attempting to defeat Epyon with the Deathscythe. )

I have to say that to first full environment Gundam game which I owned was the Mobile Suit Gundam Game. I played it nonstop I mind you, obtaining every possible mech in the side missions series from the GM, to the Alex Gundam. I found the game very interesting due to the ability to roam nearly wherever you wanted, provided you didn't go outside of the map boundaries.

The next number of Gundam Titles I invested in were the following : Gundam; Encounters in space. Gundam ; Zeonic Front, Gundam ; Battle Assault 1, Gundam ; Battle Assualt 2. The other Titles I have played and beaten include SRW series R,D,A,S, and Original Generation.

If anyone has so much as played any of these games, I think a discussion on them would be nice considering on how the new Gundam Game for the PS3 should give way to many more titles.

Only Gundam game I've played is MS Saga: A New Dawn... Currently at Moon Base Alpha. It's a good Gundam RPG. All new characters and storyline, same mechs we know and love... 3nodding

I don't supopse I've heard of that.. I'll have to check it out.

Download the ZSNES and find the Gundam Endless Duel Title. It's more of a Street fighter based game, but it's addictive. If you're into turn based stategy, try the Visual Boy emulator and and the SRW Series. It has mecha from basicly anything you can think of from Robotech, to Gundam Wing, even Big O. I want to say Voltron.. but ehh...I'm not sure on that.

Ah, sadly I'm an RPG gal. MS Saga is plenty for me! This is their official website:

And this is their intro video/opening song:

They have an English version out and that's what I'm playing. I don't play stuff in Japanese because I can't comprehend it...

Meh! upon mentioning the PS3 Mobile Suit Gundam Game.. Everyone has heard of it correct? I've got some of the gameplay video's if anyone wants them. It looks amazing.

Have you seen the X-Play review for the new Gundam game? It looks worse than some PS2 games. Blech.

As for mecha RPGs, well, there aren't many. Super Robot Wars series is a strategy RPG, and being a fan of the genre I'm going to need to look into it. Especially now that you mentioned Big O, it's the one old school super robot I really love. I will play MS Saga at some point as well, though I'll have to... ya know... find it first.

Do you want a really awesome mecha game? Zone of the Enders. It's not Gundam, though so far the story is very Gundam-esque. Main character's colony is under attack by invaders, main character stumbles across super powerful mecha of doom, main character blows stuff up, main character refuses to kill human foes (most enemies so far are autonomous). The gameplay, though, is amazing. It makes games like Armored Core look downright sluggish, with both melee and ranged attacks at high speeds, blades clashing against one another in flashes of light, and plenty of unique and powerful secondary weapons. If I may, it's what Gundam games could be and should be.

If you mean the gameplay video's for the new Mobile Suit Gundam For the PS3, yes, I've seen it. The actualy Gameplay is sort of slow at first until you get upgrades and customize your mech.

Yeah, SRW is quite the series. I've played with every mech so far, minus a few of the old school ones.. thus is why I'm currently looking for SRW OG. All of the best SRW games are VBA based and in japanese, so... either learn to read Japanese or you'll figure out what the letters mean as you go.

As for Z.O.E, I've played them all, and I adore them. I'm currently playing and beating Fist of Mars for the VBA due to the fact that I love Ares. The Game is addictive for some reason, even for a VBA game. Speaking of Armoured Core.... I loved Silent Line. Ehehehe....I OWNED that game.

Let's see. I've played Gundam Wing Endless Duel, Gundam Side Story 0079 Rise from the ashes, Gundam Battle Assault 2, and Gundam Seed Battle Assault. I really enjoyed side story the most, but I felt it was a little on the short side.

I bought Rise from the Ashes once... then instantly gave it away. I have yet to play it but I hear some good things about it. You should exlpain a little of the Gameplay.

One game I am spreading the good word about constantly is Another Century's Episode 2. In case anyone missed my past sales pitches, it's a joint effort by the makers of Super Robot Wars and Armored Core, and plays like Zone of the Enders but with real anime mecha. The first game was alright, but it pales in comparison to the sequel; I say you should only get the first if you absolutely HAVE to experience the storylines of the shows unique to it (Zeta Gundam, Char's Counterattack, Wing TV, and Nadesico the Movie). The second one has Endless Waltz, however, as well as most of the shows from the first, plus several new ones like Macross and Gundam 0083.

And once again, is it or will it ever be released in the English language? In the United States in any shape or form?

Sadly, probably not. The game features several anime that haven't been (and probably never will be) released in the US, including L-Gaim, Layzner, and Dragonar. Your only choice is to import, but seriously, given the choice between importing and getting crap like Crossfire?

The problem is that importing isn't realistic for me at the moment.
1. Importing is more expensive. I generally can't even afford new games when they're released here; I only buy a few games brand new, and I'm waiting for Twilight Princess at the moment.
2. I have to find a reliable place to order from (easily determined, I'd assume, though)
3. Convincing a relative to let me use their credit card so I can import a videogame from Japan. My family isn't big on using credit cards very often.
4. I have a slim-line PS2. No clue how to play Japanese games on the stupid piece of crap. Fortunately, it technically belongs to my cousin, so now that he wants it back I'll have an excuse to get a regular one.
5. I can't read Japanese. I like to know what's happening without having to download a script.

My main issues. I'm probably stuck waiting for A.C.E. 3, the way things are looking, though you never know.

About the third installment, what do you hope to see in it if they make one?
PostPosted: Sun Dec 03, 2006 10:49 pm

O_o.. Imported games are the best. ^_^ Sorry to hear that not all of us have access to credit cards... but yeah =/.. That's why you go to game conventions and pick up stuff there... or find a friend that will do it from you. All of my mecha/gundam games to date are imported directly from Japan. I have a copy of each in both American and Japanese.. ^__^ !!
