If he wished to the cheetah of the jungle could make noise. On days when the wind was high and the branches swayed above his head and his heart was light he could run the length and breadth of the jungle, through the trees. He had lived in those hights his whole life, his claws long since formed in to climbing shoes instead of the regular trackshoes of a normal cheetah. He could and would happilly leap through the branches with the wind whipping out his meagre mane like hair, his ears flattened tightly against his head, the fresh breath of rain which hung so luridly above his head, sinking deep in to his fur if he leapt too high in to the canopy. It was a day of fun for the deep green cheetah male. He was making noise, not hiding, out and about, leaping through the trees, living up to his name, the green squirrel.

However, the jungle always came to an end some where. The minty eyed male looked out over the savannah he had never visited. He could not remember ever being truely on the ground, he could not remember ever running as other cheetahs did. He could only remember the trees, the canopys, the deep green shade where he had grown up. He took a deep breath allowing the wind to ruffle his fur as he lay slowly upon the branch he had come to a halting stop upon, his tail dangled from the branch, flickering in a cheetahrish manner, the very tip twitching back and forth. He occassionally wondered what it would have been like to be a 'normal' cheetah, to not have been raised by a leopard, to be running thr ground instead of the trees. He rolled his shoulders taking in the dry air of the savannah from his vantage point, infact, he was so ensconsed in his thoughts, almost anyone could sneak up on him, thoughts could be very dangerous things.

Down beneath the trees, where the grasses met the humid air, was a figure that stood stark against the green. She was clearly a female, for her body was long and slim though she was not a cheetah. Instead, she took on the features of a leopardess, one with a bright pink pelt and a clear white tail.

She was lounging out in the sun, her body relaxed against the grasses as she closed her soft lavender eyes in bliss. The feeling of the sun against her furr set shivers down her spine, and every few moments a soft yawn escaped from her maw. Nalani was one who did calculate a lot, but when she was tired, she was tired, and thus needed to rest. A female needed her beauties rest, and this beauty found time to get pleanty of it.

His eyes shifted slowly, he was almost surprised to see the creature laying beneath thevery tree he was perched in. How could he have missed her? Her coat was so, so, he could think of no word to describe her, she was visable. He chuckled lightly, he feared leopards, he had to, they could kill him, though this one she seemed very relaxed. He too yawned when she did, after all it was quite a contagious hobby yawning. He found it hard after he had closed his mouth again not to speak his mind, his icey cold green eyes restiing ont he starkly visable coat.

"You're not from around here, i would have seen you." His voice, though some what polite, was curt and cut off, he was in no way about to be truely polite to a leopard, why should he be? They hated him. Still, his curiosity had gotten the better of him in this instance. he hardly ever let that little creature loose, the beast that was his curiosity but it screamed at him to question this leopardess. He pondered how she even got by with such a bright shick of fur on her?

These thoughts, to him at least, were mind boggling. He didn't let his mind wander far though, he was tempting a temptress here, if she wished he knew she could hurt him, sure, he could defend himself and run, but he hated to do that. Being a cheetah, even a tree climbing one made him weaker than most leopards. he had very little doubt that underneath that pink exterior lay the mucles of a killer.

Being settled down on one side, her eyes were still closed in a bliss when the male spoke out, however at once her ears perked and her soft smile faded. Paws shifted and tail slowing, she opened one eye and slowly looked up in the direction of the trees. It took only a second for her to catch the solid mass of green, and she only noticed because she had been looking. Rolling to her back so her belly showed, she smirked slowly up at him in a teasing manor.

Of course, the belly was a sign of submission, though Nalani used it more as an allure, and from the tone of his voice, she knew easily he was a male.

"I am from here, but I choose who meets me and who does not..." Her voice was low and sultry, a neverending purr it seemed to be used to her advantage as well, and her eyes slowly narrowed as she lifted once cheek.

"...I must say though, this is the first time I've seen a land runner take to the trees..."

He contemplated a reply to that as he creapt throught he branches so his dark fur could be seen against the blue which peered between the trees branches. He couldn't deny that her colour was an unusual, if somewhat pretty sight to look at but still he couldn't imagine how she was not constantly seen. Curiosity was truely getting the better of him today. Raising a brow he watched as the female rolled on ehr side rpesenting her belly to him. He was oddly confused by this display having never really been around many females and certainly not flirty ones. Plus this was a leopard how was he supposed to act? She seemed pretty relaxed, dare he even say friendly?

He licked his deep dark green lips his tongue stark and pink against that leefy coloured fur. "As far as I know i'm the only cheetah whom runs the trees, at least here any way." He paused again, his brow furrowing slightly and he rolled his shoulders, the thick mucles in his upper fore legs tencing and bunching. He couldn'e exactly be called the social type, still he knew how to introduce himself to a creature whom was willing to be civil to him. "They call me Jani'Esquillo.." a slight smirk lifted his lips at his name "I'v lived here my whole life, I don't usually saunter out in front of leopards." he chuckled lightly "you might say my mmind was in the clouds.." That pause again as he tried to strike up some sort of conversation, he decided to fill the silence by laying upon the branch he was perched upon one long, slender leg dangling down towards the bright pink female, his long deformed forepaw stretching out the claws forever visable beneath his fur. He could easily get away should she try to trap him or chase him. There was no need to be tence. His tail twitched slowly as he watched the female leopard beneath him. He couldn't help but be intregued, he'd never seen a female flirt, and certainly a female had never been flirty around him. His curiosity had truely gotten the better of him.

Seeing him finally relax, she smirked yet again though quickly covered it with a sweet smile. Sometimes it was just too easy, and now that she had him ensnared, she felt the urge to test her boundries. Rolling back to her belly she rolled her shoulders downward and raised her tail up in an eligant stretch. Letting out a yawn soon after, her pure white tail waved for a few seconds before she craned her neck back to lock gazes with Jani.

"And I am called Nalani," She responded with a warm rumble, before a sort of pout crossed her maw, "Jani, dear, why must you hide in the trees? I am not here to hurt you, and heavens knows if we talk my neck will get soar...the least you could do is move a bit closer..."

Her soft lavender eyes blinked up at him as she settled on her haunches, the pout still apparent as she waited to see what he would do.

Jani gave a short laugh as she said that, he was no fool just to drop down by a leopard and possibly, if not probably chased, bitten or battered. He knew enough of leiopards not to trust them, especially leopards around here. Most of them despised him, for one reason or another. "Nalani, interesting name.." That pause again, those ice green eyes watchig the female as she rolled about exposing her most tender parts to him. He was to say the least baffled by her displaying., he even inched up the branch a little further to watch her.

He honestly didn't know what a flirty female was he was certainly being left astounded by her. "You'll excuse me if I throw an air to caution Nalani, I am not one to leap before I look usually and as, friendly as you are..and oddly pretty.." he raised a brow, yep she was definately confusing him, "I think our conversation can continue thusly for now my friend. My mother always said curiosity killed the cat and I don't feel like being that dead cat today."

She laughed at that, her tone light and airy as she rolled a bit to the side and than to her paws. Stretching out, she moved back to the ground and settled to her side, deciding that was the best option for now as a yawn split her maw. Fangs gleamed just for a flash before she lowered her eyes and smiled, soft and sweet.

"Well, do as you wish, I'm not one to judge. I simply love company, and males seem to be the only ones I can find these days...but I did find you. Interesting, a land runner who loves the trees..." She had to admit, it was a first.

Jani'esquillo's long slender tail lashed as he watched the very pink female his pale, cool green eyes moving over her slender figure. He felt very confudsed by he, but she was a leopard, he coudln't trust her could he?

Stretching out on the branch he made to look like he was relaxing,t hough his mucles were ready to shift him should she attack. "Well, I was raised by a leopard, like yourself and the onyl way to survive was to learn to go up. So I did." He shows her one of his paws, deformed fromt he years of leaping through the trees instead of walking the ground. "The trees are my home, I wouldn't have it any other way."

Her eyes widened at that, the comment of being raised by her kind catching her off guard. Standing, she moved back a few steps to get a better look at his paw, and narrowed her eyes lightly in thought. It shouldn't have been too much of a surprise now that she reviewed it, but alas she couldn't show her surprise to the male, she had to continue to keep playing it cool.

"That is amazing, it's almost refreshing to see the adaptation you have for this world, Jani."

Suddenly, she decided to test the waters, and caught sight of a branch near by. Bending upon her haunches, she took a second before she pushed up and landed easily upon the branch, eyes turning to get a better look at the male.

"There we go..."

The leaf green male was on his paws in a shot his tail flicking up behind him, those deformed paws wrapping around the tree branch he was standing upon, his unsheathable claws acting as slimbing boot like spikes rather than the tracshoes natural to his kind.

"It was either this or die." He stated simply. "My mother, she raised me well, taught me how to survive better than most up here." By mother, he of course meant the leopardess whom had raised him.

He watched her cautiously, if she came for him he could get away, he had already planned out his escape route. "Most cheetahs run the land, faster than any other, I learned to run the trees instead."

Her own claws dug deep into the branch, her form long and elegant against the tree as her vibrant pelt stood out. Curling the claws out and in, her eyes narrowed slightly as she gave a small grin, watching with humor at his reaction to her now close proximity.

"Your mother was wise, I'm sure..." She said with a soft smile, before pulling her paw up and tearing at the bark, "...the trees are much safer than the Savannah...that is unless of course you run into the monsters that lurk here..."

At that, her voice suddenly dropped, and her smile grew dark. She had grown bored with the sweet act, and now wanted to see how far she could take it before he ran. Her paw lifted, and she took a slow step closer.

"Wise enough to teach me to see through sweet smiles." He whispers, his gaze fixed upon the female, his eyes never leaving her bright pelt. She stood out like a sore thumb against the green.

"There are no monsters lady, only those within." He states leaping away to another branch in a very agile manner as she flicked ehr claw outwards at the bark.

His slender, long figure virtually flew through the air to find a branch accross a small gap. He could have gone further but he was conserving his enrgy.

"Seems to me like this conversation is over. You'll excuse me madam" He smirks, his pale eyes dancing as he leapt again his dark green coat melding with the leafy canopy.

He stood for a moment longer, bowing his head slightly before he ran off through the trees, his paws seemingly never touching the branches, and only the slight rustle of the branches and leaves sounded off his retreat.

White tail flicking, her lavender eyes followed his form through the trees until he was out of sight. Shaking her head, she moved and jumped out of the branch, before stretching her back slowly again. It had been fun, but like all males she had grown bored of her games. Once more, she glanced over her shoulder, before moving to run farther in the opposite direction.

It was time for a hunt.
