It wasn't exactly a restaurant-- more of a secluded café. A well lit environment where a young boy dressed in a simple white shirt and black slacks moved about, playing waiter for the moment.
There were booths set up for quiet conversation scattering the café-- mostly empty, as it wasn't a peak hour of the day. For the most part, nothing seemed out of line...

The Inspector stopped in the doorway, arms crossed over his chest as he looked inside. It didn't look particularly suspicious - quite the opposite - and so he stepped inside, removing his hat and holding it at his side.
After a moment, the coon approached Neville. "Excuse me." He addressed the bunny curtly. "I'm looking for a man named Darin." He removed the note from his pocket. "Is he here?"
It wasn't so much that he was curious rather than...as an inspector he felt it was his duty to at least hear this man out. Besides, something to do.

Someone was talking to him. He hadn't been told he'd have to talk to people. That wasn't something that Neville had ever been particularly skilled at. Why was he having to talk to people? Bloody hell! This wasn't what he'd been promised!
But he had to respond. "Um... Darin's in the back. I can get him for you if you want to take a seat... sir." Sir because this man looked somewhat official and terrifying in that I AM AUTHORITY way that Neville just had this horrible feeling would come back to bite him.

"Of course." He nodded, and moved off to sit at a nearby empty table, giving off the general aura of growling discontent, but at the same time not being hostile towards any one person in paticular. He folded his hands on the table and waited.

Neville bowed to the other and flitted away quickly to the back of the café, leaving the other to wait. Bloody hell. The man was French and terrifying all in one. Could things get any worse? Of course they could. They always did.
Perhaps it had been a poor idea to allow Neville the opportunity to work as the waiter in this environment. The boy didn't seem quite suited to deal with others-- then again, his primary function wasn't to talk to others, rather to serve as a faceman for this operation.
He was just... terrified of people.
This made it difficult. Ah well, that was to be dealt with later. For now, there was an inspector to be spoken with, someone to possibly recruit to their cause. At least... Darin hoped this would be successful. If not, no harm done. But hopefully they would gain an ally...
"Inspector?" Darin asked in French, approaching the coon. "Pardon me. My name is Darin Esposito. I was the one who sent you the letter."

Javert stood up again as Darin approached, looking him over appraisingly. He was already making observances, coming to some small few conclusions, and not a few assumptions. And...there were the predjudices that he carried, that he would always carry, set in place the moment he got the letter. But he wasn't going to let them get in the way of simply hearing Darin out. Restoring order from chaos was too appealing of a lure.
The coon nodded once more, just as curtly, and held out a hand. His native language no longer lulled him even the slightest bit from suspicion - he'd been here too long - but it was...a mark in his favor, that Darin could speak it. "What did you want to speak to me about?" He wasn't...terrible at English, could speak it well enough to get by quite well. All the same, there were times where his speech was rather stop-and-start, an ungainly endevour , and therefore being able to talk in French was something of a relief.

Shaking Javert's hand, Darin smiled slightly. "Please, sit," the coon nodded, sitting both of them down. "Would you care for any food or drink? Or shall we simply move onto the matter at hand, the matter I asked you to come here for?" Darin asked, considering the inspector quietly. After all, this was mainly Javert's decision. Darin simply facilitated the possibilities.

"The matter at hand, if you will." He wasn't exactly into pleasentaries, looking terribly serious as he took his seat once more, looking Darin over once more at close range. He was almost disposed to like this man's demeanor, because he was reserved and respectful. At the same time, there was that insurmountable barrier between any individual in this community and Javert's respect...

"Of course then," Darin nodded. "I don't know if you've noticed, Monsieur, but there are... somewhat strange events in place at the moment. The fact of the matter is that a rather large group of individuals-- powerful individuals, who would be nigh unstoppable should they complete their band as they hope to-- is slowly coming together in the form of a faction of sorts. As there are so many of them... it's difficult to say exactly what the current limits of their powers are-- between them, there are a great many... disconcerting possibilities in what they can already do, and it's been brought to my attention that they are in the process of recruiting others.
"I have been attempting to bring together a similar group for the sole purpose of watching this alliance and attempting to keep it from getting out of hand, since, should this group attempt it, they could, most likely, bring about absolute and utter chaos-- something of an apocalypse for this world. I, for one, find that notion... disturbing, to say the least," Darin sighed softly as his mind drifted to the Alliance. This whole matter couldn't be solved, but if it could at least be contained...?
"I would care to ask if you might consider assisting in maintaining a careful eye on this group," Darin finally admitted. "Your reputation led me to believe that you might find some merit in what we're attempting to do, thus, I've come to you with this proposition of sorts. Should you be willing to help us, we, of course, would do whatever we could to assist you in anything you choose to do, provided it doesn't go against our current mission." Not that Darin really expected the Inspector to ask for help, but it would be available, should he ever be in a position where he should choose to ask.
