o o; I imagine it is a similar concept to how people have naturally curly hair. He just has naturaly gravity defiying antenna.
They are to make him look bigger than he is I beleive.

If they were just Gel it is unlikly that he's still have them as a Prinny. I think it's just something he inherited of his father.

as a prinny he has the antnna things as part of his head, not hair.
so maybe this mean as a demon the antenna is really part of his head and hair grows around them. if that made any sense that would be really creepy sweatdrop
