Final Fantasy VII Fanfiction and Fanfiction Contest Thread

Good day, writers and readers alike! We've finally got an official Fanfiction thread, so that all may post and read without having to travel too far from the guild. Plus, it's a nice way to exhibit one's creations within the guild. wink So as long as you follow the rules when posting, then everything should be fine. biggrin

~Rules~

1.) Follow the Gaia Terms of Service (T.O.S.). If you are caught violating these, then your post will not only be removed, but you may also be reported as well. PG-13 is the maximum rating permitted, so if you aren't sure if your story will be permitted here, feel free to PM me or another mod to have a look at it so that we can evaluate it.

2.) Follow the Guild Rules. This means that all entires must pertain to Final Fantasy VII (with Final Fantasy VII being the main focus of such entries), or the post containing said entries may be deleted by a moderator. If you feel that your post may have been wrongly removed, then PM either myself or another moderator with a link to your story so that we can evaluate it. It it's been wrongly deleted, then we'll let you upload it again, and include a little note somewhere (probably edited into the bottom of your post) that this was allowed by a mod.

3.) Any pairing, genre, and whatnot are welcome here. However, although constructive criticism is welcome, blasting a story as pure garbage is not. Do not diss on a story just because it focuses on a pairing you do not support, a character you do not like, or anything of that ilk. There's a difference between "You need to improve on your spelling and grammar" and "Your spelling sucks."

4.) Although we support many kinds of stories, fanfics that blatantly bash a character for the sake of bashing them are not permitted. I don't want to see any fics where Aerith gets murdered brutally because the author hates Aerith, or anything like that. If I want to see her dead, I'll play the game, which does it tastefully, thank you very much. This also applies to things such as having the character labeled as a douche, gay, or anything inappropriate or offensive such as that. If you want to write a humor fic, be mature about it.

5.)Most importantly, any fic you submit MUST BE YOUR OWN CREATION! Fic recommendations are nice, but this is a thread for folks to post stuff that they wrote. Although you might not mean ill will when you do this, the author of the fic may not want it to be linked in places that he/she does not frequent or know about. Any posts that contain stuff not written by yourself as a submission will be deleted.

6.) Have fun, above all else. xd It's all about sharing creativity, and having others read stories that you've written. If any problems arise, report the immediately to any of the active moderators or myself.

~:Submitting:~

Just create a post like any other, but DO NOT post the entire fic in your post. You may include a very brief piece from the fic (like a blurb on the back of a book), and afterwards include a LINK to the fic. There are many websites that will host fanfiction, and if you have trouble finding a decent host, then feel free to ask a mod or a friend, since they'll probably know of one. Fanfiction.Net and MediaMiner.Org are popular ones, but there are many more (including personal websites) that can be used for hosting services. Here is a basic template that you are expected to follow in your fanfiction post...:

Notes: {Just any other thing you'd like to include about the story that won't be included above or in the summary, such as whether it is shounen-ai/shoujo-ai/het, or if it is an alternate universe.}
Summary: {just a short blurb from the story, or a brief description will do. It can be no longer than seven lines though, not including spaces.

Notes: This is a before-FFVII idea that A.Bout had, and asked me to help him create more of it... Chapter 2 is still in the works...

Summary: Ahahahahahaha…those two. They amuse me so. I wonder what they’ve gotten themselves into. If I had to guess I’d say they’re dueling again and knowing how competitive they are all the men on the floor knows about it too. Hahahaha… The last time they went at it, one wall was in shreds and the tables… “Ahahahahahaha…” …were, they weren’t recognizable! The fish tank! Oh…the fish tank! That was priceless! “Heh, heh, heh, heh” Fish were flopping all over the floor. The best part was that the President had bought this $500,000gil exotic fish. I hated it personally, I thought it looked horrible, but him being the President no one questioned it. I just about died from laughter when I found it with a knife through its heart, having its last squirms of life.

Funny, I don't ever recall Cait Sith having a sexual orientation, being a robot and what have you, but anyways... You forgot the most important thing about submitting fanfiction here, which is the fic itself. Nobody can read and review your story if they have no way to access it.

Also, on another note, if you wish to make your stories 'humorous,' refrain from making it as crude as this. confused *goes to update the rules*

With the problems swirling in her head, she goes to the only person she knows who could help her solve it. May be a bit ecchi, but nothing over the top... Least innuendo and sucking fingers counts as R or NC-17...
