November 29th, 06- This journal was opened!

**Just a little something to get you started. What you write in this journal is up to you, though it should involve you rping that you're interacting with your dragon. First though, you have to get your dragon. Write a little story/description of a dream you've had or just one you've made up. I'll read this and use it to design your dragon. Please, don't say anything about the dragon itself, just the dream. Once I post in here with your dragon, you're free to keep posting whatever you want.

Dec 30 - First Entry

After taking a very odd potion last night, I slept a full eight hours (which is QUITE new) and had a very pleasant dream. Here it is in full detail, which is something new too...

I walked through the grand hallway toward the staircase in the middle. Above me, hung a chandelier made from pure crystal. I knew not how I got here in the first place, but felt very at home. A servant walked up to me and bowed.

"Milady, the Duke would like to see you. He said it was urgent." She told me. I nodded and made my way up to the Duke's study. It was then, as I walked up the stairs, that I noticed I wore a full length dress in the prettiest blue I had ever seen. It was simple but hugged my figure well. I smiled to myself. I was in heaven.

The Duke’s study was on the third floor just off the main stairway, or so says another servant. I found it, just as she had told me, and knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Came a voice from the other side. I opened the oak door and walked it, closing it behind me. The study was modest in size, but not in ornate ness. Book cases lined every wall and were filled to the brim with all manors of things. Everything was in a dark oak and a fire crackled in the fireplace on one wall. Across from me sat the Duke in a wing backed chair. He looked very tired.

“Ah, Isis, you have arrived. Good. Now…” He began. I did not hear what he said next. My name is Isis? How odd… I thought. “…I called for you because it has come time to talk to you about marriage. I want to be fair, so is there anyone you had in mind?” I snapped back to reality at this.

“Anyone in mind, sir?” I asked him, quite confused. He chuckled.

“You don’t have to be so formal with your own father, Isis. Or are you just making it a habit?” He smiled at me. Oh, so he’s my father… Now what does make me? Duchess…. Or pre-duchess?

“Oh, sorry, father. Have you talked to mother about this?” I asked, more wanting to know if I was duchess or not. He frowned.

“You must have gone through a spell of amnesia, my dear. Your mother is dead. You are the duchess of Cornithia, Isis.” He told me. So I am the duchess… Sweet!!

“Oh, yes, that’s it. Anyway, I do have someone in mind… But you would not approve of him.” I said, fingering the necklace the boy in question had given me not a fortnight before.

“You won’t know if I approve if you not tell me who he is.” He said, a smile on his face.

I smiled back and took a breath. “Well, the someone I had in mind was…”

“Yes, go on.”

“The stable boy, Ralf. You know, the tall one, orangey red hair, perfect manners.” I added in for benefit. My father seemed to have an epiphany. He turned the oddest shade of purple.

“T-the stable BOY!?!?! How-What were you thinking?!? How would it look it my daughter, the duchess, married a-a-a stable boy!?!?” HE roared. Oh, that didn’t go so well. He grumbled to himself and seemed to forget about me. I backed out of the room slowly, and sprinted down the hall.

It took me forever to find the stables. More to the point, it took my knees forever to find the stables. I shed the dress in my room, conveniently placed on the first floor, not in some tall tower, and changed into a simple riding outfit.

I walked up to the horses that lined the stable and found mine, just by his appearance and name. Troy, a black stallion, stood near the end shaking his head at something. I walked up and looked inside his stall.

There stood my love, Ralf the stable boy. He looked up at me and smiled. “What brings you down here, Isis?” He asked me. I squealed and flung myself at him, throwing us both into the hay. I kissed him square on the mouth and looked into his blue eyes. “Ah, that’s what.” He teased, brushing the hair from my face.

“The Duke is not happy with my choice of suitors.” I told him as we sat up. He wrapped his arms around me.

“Oh, and who might that be?” He asked, perfectly knowing who it was.

“Oh, just a stable boy.” I said, shrugging my shoulders. “I think he thought I say a politician or something.”

“Yes, well you are the duchess.” He reminded me, stroking my cheek.

“By death only.” I said standing up. Troy was already saddled. “Had a premonition, did we?”

“No, I was going to take you away tonight. But we can go now, if you like…” I blushed at his words. I kissed him and mounted Troy.

“Oh lets. I fear that dinner might end with me locked in the highest room in the tallest tower for eternity.” I said with mock sorrow. He just chuckled and mounted his rowan mare, Gabriel.

We road out of the manor and into the countryside to a little cottage we went to for day trips. It was deathly quiet and I got the feeling that something terrible was going to happen.

“Something’s not right…” No sooner were the words out of my mouth than an arrow wized by. Our horses broke into a gallop and we went further into the woods.

I heard a thud and spun Troy around, much to the displeasure of him. I vaulted off and ran to Ralf, who was laying on the ground. An arrow stuck out of his chest. “N-no… NO!!!” I shook over him, tears pouring from my eyes.

“Is-is….cough… death is just another adven-ture… Didn’t you-cough-tell me that once?” He struggled with the words. He stroked my face.

“But… it’s an adventure we’re supposed to take together, not separetly!” I sobbed. He touched my nose.

“You… must live Isis. You must-cough-live on. You’ll rule this country one day, my love. To me, you’ll always be my que…en… I love…you fully and com…pletely. Live for me, Isis…” He said no more. I wept for what must have been hours before the tears dried.

I gave him a burial, just like he would have wanted. “I will, Ralf. I will live on and become queen, just for you. Goodbye, my love…” I said to the wind. I walked off the hill and led his horse and mine back to the manor. I will live on… If only to find out who did this. I vow to never stop loving you or searching for your killer. I thought as I walked through the gates, the look of sorrow and pain all but gone; a look of determination and royalty in it’s place.

((I’m sorry it’s so long. I got kinda carried away, I tend to do that. Anyway, I hope you like it. Cheers!))
