Another day, another Coen brothers movie. It was that or pacing the floors of his duplex waiting for inspiration to strike. Sid would have to move on to going down the list other directors' works before long, but he still had a few to go. And today was Raising Arizona. He'd given up on getting through an entire movie without someone else coming in, so he just enjoyed the solitude while he could. Maybe Awen had a point about the pros of gills, though the idea of hanging around the bottom of the lake alone still didn't excite him. Kinda hard to watch movies then.
He would definitely try to get something done with the play once the movie was over... Who was he kidding? He'd likely just find some other way to waste time.

Rachel left her duplex late the morning after her drinking indulgement, and boy did she regret having drank anything the day before. Sure she had wanted to not have to think about the things she'd had to deal with in the past week, but this wasn't the way she had envisioned getting her wish. All she could think about now was the throbbing pain in her head. She wondered how she had gotten this bad, thinking she hadn't had very much the evening before, but had actually had a considerable amount. Rachel's knowledge of alcohol also wasn't good enough to let her realize that drinking on an empty stomach makes things considerably worse.
She'd spent a considerable amount of time laying in bed, but ventured out after a while, realizing that she had to get rid of the pain and that she didn't have the slightest clue how to get rid of it. In hopes of finding someone who could help her, she braved the bright sunlight and made her way into the village. Keeping her eyes closed as much as possible, she headed towards the main village buildings, and didn't see anyone around. Hearing noise coming from the entertainment room, Rachel wandered in that direction, hoping that whoever was in there could help her and that whoever it was, wasn't she he/she she'd run into before.
Rachel stumbled into the room, her attention not entirely on where she was going. She glanced at the single occupant for a few seconds before shutting her eyes and letting out a pained groan. The florecent lights in here were almost as bad as the sunlight outside.
"I don't suppose you know how to cure a hangover, do you?" Rachel muttered, holding a hand to her head.

Sid barely kept himself from sighing. All the exposition wasn't even out of the way yet. He looked over and mentally calculated a girl that size would have to drink to even get drunk and, not being that great at math, he just assumed one shot would do it.
He turned the volume down and said, "Sure, but I'd need a blender."

"Thank god...I didn't think I'd ever find someone...but, a blender?" she asked, squinting one eye open at him. With the volume turned down, she was able to handle the light better and get to look at Sid properly. Those teeth?! What was he turning into? Rachel regretted thinking about it, as it aggravated things, and shut her eye again.
"Would the cafeteria have one?" Rachel asked, in a somewhat impatient tone, not really paying attention to how she was speaking. All she knew is she was desperate to get rid of the horrible pain in her head.

"Whoa, hold on, there's no instant cure." He waved one webbed hand vaguely, grasping for the right words to describe it. "It just... take the edge off." He gave Rachel the once over again. "Some kinda party I didn't know about?"

"I'll take anything that'll help even a little. It ******** hurts!" she said leaning against the wall, rubbing her temples. Rachel didn't swear that often, so it was her way of showing how much the hangover was bothering her. She wasn't thinking clearly enough to realize that Sid wouldn't know enough about her for it to matter.
"No...no party...just me being stupid...." She said the last part under her breath, more to herself than to Sid.

"It helps to eat something first." Sid rose from the couch and tossed the remote aside. "Okay, just wait here, I'll go fix something and bring it back... What's your name, by the way?"

At the mention of eating something, Rachel's stomach twisted. It sounded even more unappitizing than usual, but if that's what she had to do, then she would. "Rachel....and thank you. I really appriciate this," she said, relief evident in her voice. "And you are?"

"Sid. Pleased to meet you and all that, I'll be back in a few minutes."
As he walked out of the entertainment room with the movie playing without him, Sid knew he was being too damn kind... But it wouldn't do to let the girl suffer, not if she was going to hang around and moan about it. He knew she'd balk once she saw what the concoction looked like, but he could maybe have a little fun with that.
He transferred his modified sunglasses from the top of his head to their proper place over his eyes as he walked out, but as always the sunlight hit him like a brick between the eyes. Being nice was too much effort... but once he'd started it was hard to stop.

Rachel nodded slightly at him, in acknowledgement, before watching him walk out the door. When he was gone, she moved over to the couch and sat on the opposite end from where he had been sitting, and craddeled her head in her hands.
Rachel berated herself. "Why did I have to be so stupid?"

Sid returned a few minutes later, just as promised, with a glass filled with a thick liquid that looked a lot like something that had been regurgitated into it. He didn't apologize for the appearance, he simply held it out to Rachel with both hands.
"Don't think about it," he advised. "Just drink it."

Rachel looked up from her hunched over position when Sid came back in, and she gave him a weary smile before noticing what was in his hands. She raised a skeptical eyebrow, before looking at him again. "That's a hangover cure?"

"It's not a cure, I told you, it only helps get the crap out of your system a little faster. There's lots of vitamins in it." ...And a list of ingredients that sounded as disgusting as they looked when mixed, but Sid left that out. He held the glass closer to her. It looked like it ought to be bubbling, but it failed to deliver on that note. The smell was certainly interesting.
"I've got some aspirin too, but you'll likely need to take both."

Rachel gave him another incredulous look, before taking the strange drink from his hands and rasing it to eye level so she could look at it better. It looked revolting and the smell made her stomach churn again.
"If you say so...." she said uncertainly. "Do you have that asprin so I can use this stuff to wash it down with?"

In response, Sid reached into his pocket and withdrew two pills. He picked off the piece of lint that had attached to them and held his hand out. "Don't worry they won't taste like fish or anything." If they did, it wouldn't be noticed by the warring flavors of the stuff in the glass.
