Liamh whistled cheerfully and busied himself with unfurling a roll of red crete paper across the room, standing on a chair to affix it in a graceful arc over the entrance. He hopped down and inspected his work. Ta ta, ta-ta-ta, ta ta, ta-ta-ta... Okay, maybe "Twisted Nerve" from Kill Bill was no "Happy Birthday", but whatever, close enough.

He shoved the rest of the decorations under the table. It was looking pretty good in there. He had the streamers up - no balloons, as he'd gotten halfway through trying to blow up one of the old stiff ones he'd gotten from requisitions and nearly passed out. But the couch and chairs were arranged, and a table set up with the popcorn balls and nachos and pretzels with strawberry, mint, and chocolate dips, as well as some pre-christmas candy.

And the cake.

Liamh grinned and cracked his knuckles. He'd asked for a big one, and it was big - the flat rectangular kind, but at least it was chocolate. He'd hastily improvised a "Happy Birthday" on it with some of the mint dip - was it wrong to wish yourself a happy birthday? He didn't suppose it mattered, he was going to have one anyway. Forget the island, forget the horrible mutations, forget the mad scientists and the insane predators running through the jungle... He was going to have a proper birthday. With cake.

"Oh, right!" he moved over and turned on the sound system, selecting a randomized track of various upbeat favorites and geek-appreciative themes. It was just about time... he hoped the flyers he'd stuck around and the word of mouth would at least bring a few people to polish off the food. He'd get sick if he ate all that.... not that he'd been hungry much lately at all. He made a face and turned back to make a last check over, humming to the music in the background.

Gaius walked towards the entertainment room as quickly as his feet could manage, rather proud of the fact he was going without a walking stick. However, that meant he had to be more careful, unless he trip on his own feet. Liamh had called him earlier, and Gaius had eagerly accepted the invitation. Who was to turn down a birthday party, after all?

He arrived, early by the looks of the rather empty place, dressed in a clean, nice pair of jeans, and sporting a rather swollen bruise on the left side of his jaw, having turned a lovely shade of purple that was now starting to fade to a greenish tinge as it healed. Add to that the slightly puffy lip on that side... It was obvious Gaius had come off on the wrong end of a rough-and-tumble somewhere.

He raised a hand in greeting as he walked in. "Yo! This the party place?"

How wonderful...cake. When was the last time Charlie had, had cake? 'Not since your 18th birthday nitwit, when you decided you didn't like sugar.' Ah yes,...but all that didn't matter now. As of late Charlie had been breaking many customs. Hell, even if he hadn't liked sugar since he was a teenager--he was going to have some today. Why? Because it reminded him that there had once been such a thing as 'civil' society.

Besides, it was good to wish people Happy Birthday--Everybody liked to be told that. Smugly Charlie waddled his way along towards the entertainment room and even though the tropics were horribly hot, he insisted on wearing his every ratty jacket he had arrived with.

Those scales--erm, scabs on his arm were quite horrific. With a hum, he helped himself into the room. "Hello--" he waved friendly to the few people who were there.

Marshall carried a DVD case in his left hand (not like his right hand was much use any more), humming a song from some random Final Fantasy game. If it was any one else, they'd probably be self conscious about seeing a friend after a transformation. But Marshall was convinced he didn't look that bad. Well, he knew that it was a huge jump from his last transformation, but hell, if he didn't learn to just accept it he'd drive himself mad.

He recognized his long-necked friend standing in the door, and smirked deviantly (as well as he could smirk with his new beak-face). He shoved the DVD into his pocket, slowly crept up to Gaius and finally...

"DEATH FROM ABOVE!" Marshall said, jump-tackling his tall friend with a laugh.

Liamh looked up from the game console as Gaius strolled in - he was walking a lot better! That made some of the lurking uneasiness in the pit of Liamh's stomach melt away, just a bit. He beamed over. "Heeeyyy, you made it! Yeah, come on down, it's just started. Please keep me away from the Katamari Damacy, i think it's eating my brain," he chuckled, putting down the controller.

Another movement at the door signalled someone else's presence - a red-haired man with some odd markings gave a wave at him. "Heya!" Liamh called. He had no idea what this man's name was, but... "I have no idea what your name is," he called cheerfully. "I'm Liamh, come have some junkfood, will you? I'll cut the cake in a bit!" he gave a winning grin at the other guy.

He was cut off as he heard the battle-cry from the other side of the room. Was that... Marshall? He raised an eyebrow. He almost wouldn't know it, except for the voice... and the hair, of course, but... dang. He cleaned his glasses just for added reassurance.

Charlie was rather happy introductions were short and brief and there wasn't much hassle of, 'Who are you?', 'Why are you here?', 'Yes I put the flyers out but that didn't mean--'. People here were friendly enough.

"Names Li," Charlie said returning a pleasant smile. ‘Li’ of course very short for, “Charlie” but no need to say that no, ah, a new name every time, how many times had he changed it now? "Cake sounds wonderful."

It seemed birthday wishes would have to come later, the fellas here were certainly a rowdy crowed. Ah...friends.

Gaius had just cast the new guy a friendly wave and was about to say something when he was suddenly and forcefully tackled side-long by a black-white-and-yellow bowling ball.

"GAH!" he yelped, balance lost. Over went Gaius, with Marshall on top. He landed on the floor with a thud, catching most of it on his arm and side. He winced and looked down at the guy clinging to his side, rubbing his elbow. "Hello to you too! Mind getting off so I can stand up?"

"Hee hee...Sorry, but I AM a bird. Fly attacks are our specialty!" Marshall said with faux pride. He wasn't 100% okay with being transformed into his own creation, but as the old saying goes; 'If you don't laugh about it, you'll cry about it'

"Oh!" Marshall said, looking over at the birthday boy. He got off his long-necked friend and reached into his pocket, pulling out the blank DVD case with another awkward looking smirk. "You're gonna LOVE my birthday present, Baldy." Marshall smirked, still not really noticing the red-headed bespectacled man.

Boredom had once again dragged the thylacine-man away from the private confines of his duplex, to go wandering around the island, ensuring that everything was as it should be. A strange sense had come over him recently and despite the fact he still had a strong desire to escape and get off the island, part of him was now telling him that this area was his. He had shrugged that thought off initially, however.

His wanderings brought him to the entertainment room, and he grinned to himself as he moved towards the place, pondering if he should steal some DVDs and start his own personal DVD collection from the existing one here. He was silent for a moment as he came closer - he heard voices inside. More than two, anyway. Part of him became highly edgy and told him to flee, but he growled to himself and shoved the door open - intending to hoard some DVDs from this place.

He immediately stared wary-eyed into the room as he noticed all the people in there, not recognising any of them at first glance. His tail was straight and stiff behind him and he stood on his hinds, having half a mind to follow up on the initial instinct to run. But then he noticed Liamh (whom was.... bald?), cake, and the fact that the room was decorated.

"Hey, who's having the party in here?" He finally decided to ask, one hand still on the door handle incase he decided to make a run for it.

Charlie, who was still somewhat near the door pushed up his glasses over the bridge of his nose and cleared his throat. Fondly his mind was about to wander back to times of youth when he had been rough housing. But that was interupted when another new face poked his head in.

"Ee--" The older man almost let out a startled shout of surprise but managed to contain himself. Since when had he become so jumpy? Ah well, not to be rude now--"I think it's that one," He half whispered to he newcomer, pointing a long sharp finger nail at Liamh.

--The bald one had been talking of cake and such, afterall.

The wheels got stuck on the way into the entertainment room. After over exerting herself in the work out room, Lauren had to go back to the wheel chair. It sucked but getting out of the duplex was a MUST.

Exerting her arms and making a face, Lauren pushed the wheels over a bump that lined the doorway. She gave it a little too much push though, wheeling to fast into the room. The girl stopped as fast as she could, sniffing the air.

"Cake?" She asked hungrily. It was what brought her here after all, and she was unconcious during her own birthday. She NEEDED cake.

Gaius winced, rubbing his elbow as he struggled up to one knee, once again reminded how hard it was dealing with long feet. More people were showing up. Gaius had to grin. Seems flyers were the way to go when getting guests. He only hoped Liamh's birthday would be better than his own had been, with no 'gifts' from the labs.

"Cake!" he echoed, pushing himself up and wobbling over to the table. "And other stuff from the looks of it! Though, I think the birthday boy should have some candles to blow out first before we cut it!"

Liamh grinned at Marshall. "What? Present? Hey now, you're not supposed to get me anything," he mock-protested, eyeing the blank case. "What is it?" His eyes crinkled at the corners behind his spectacles.

He glanced up suddenly at the commotion at the doorway with 'Li' and some strange-looking guy. "Hey, it's my birthday," he said cheerfully... but slowly. Did he know that guy. "... Seth? That you? Come on in," he added with a half-grin. "I'll get the cake cut!"

He turned as a woman in a wheelchair showed up. "Yeah, cake!" He grinned, heading toward the table with Gaius. He gave the long-legged, long-necked man a thumbs up. "I think the matches are somewhere around here if you wanna light 'em, eh?"

He looked back at the blonde lady with the fur and black nose... and were those horns? "I'm Liamh, pleased to meet you, miss...?" He grinned over at her. "Care to help cut the cake once it's de-flamed?"

Lauren smiled, nearly salviating at the cake, "Lauren, no miss." She didn't want to be called 'miss GRANGER' Lauren hated that. "Nah, you cut it, I'll just eat." She wheeled herself closer, "Geuss it's your birthday huh?"

"Huh?" Seth glanced at Charlie's pointing finger, then at Liamh. "Ah right, thanks." He finally moved away from the door, walking into the room, sniffing the air. He smelled fire and cake.

"Yeah, yeah, it's me..." He nodded in response to Liamh's question. "It's your birthday party? Great, Happy birthday, mate! I just have one question though..." Seth stared at Liamh's head, eyebrows raised. "What the bloody hell happened to your hair!?"
