Winter was coming. Anyone could tell now. Rain almost every day, and the cold wind nipping at one's muzzle. No one could say it wasn't winter. All plants dead, the trees bare naked. Brown, orange, and red leaves filled the mud filled grass below. It was very beautiful. The weather threatened to bring snow in the future. A few days at most. It was only a matter of time.

Birds already flow south. Only a few of them flew around, the ones bound to their soquili friends. Water became almost too cold to drink, lakes freezing at night time.

Jeevita stood at the edge of the forrest staring at them. She hadn't been over here in a long time. Hadn't visited Rajiv in a long time. After things started to happen between her and two others, it seemed that there was no time in the world to visit anyone. She felt horrible. She wondered how he was doing.

She took a step closer towards the forrest. She'd changed a little since the last time they'd talked. She was sure he had too. She took a breath. Stepping into the forrest past tress. There where some down tress. It looked so different when there was nothing it had been when she'd last been there. It had been durning the summar when everthing was alive.

The forest was still alive. The trees and animals only settling down for sleep or changing their colors to fit with the new season that was fast approaching. It certaintly got lively as a crash sounded to Jeevita's right, followed by a squeal and more crashing.

A streak of yellow and orange dashed out of the bushes, the commotion taking the form of a colt that couldn't have been all that old. He certaintly didn't look like he was fresh out of his basket, nor was he anywhere near adulthood. More like in the awkward stage inbetween, like a young teen perhaps.

He gave another squeal, bucking and dancing in place, his ears flat against his head as he tryed to loosen the thorny branches that had gotten tangled with one growing wing. He didn't even see the blue mare standing there until he'd crashed headlong right into her side, giving a yelp as he fell over into an ungainly heap on the ground. Thankfully he'd landed in a pile of leaves to break his fall.

Glancing up, he blinked garnet colored eyes at the alicorn, head ducking a moment later as he studdered out an apology and tried to get to his feet. His father was always telling him to be polite to his elders and whatnot. The mare didn't look dangerous, but looks could always be decieving.

Better to err on the side of polite respect, than to get an ear bitten off because of an insult. Or something like that.

She watched slightly startled from the little colt. Before she could do anything at all, the colt hit her side. His horn slightly cut her, but not bad enough to make her bleed. She blinked for a moment and looked at the small colt. She'd never seen him before. He was so bright.

She looked at his eyes. Those eyes. Rajiv's eyes? She looked at him with a questionable look. "Hello." was what came out. He looked so different, but those eyes were too familiar. She blinked again. She finally noticed that he was a alicorn too. She hadn't noticed the scratch on her side. She'd never seen the tail he had before.

"Are you ok?" She asked next. He could have hurt himself falling down like that. She should have moved, but being slightly shocked to see a little foal out on his own in the woods.

His ears flicked as he was asked a question, tilting his head to the side and glancing up at her in a curious way. "Ahhh....Yeah." He murmured a moment later, managing to get to his feet, tail lashing slightly. "Fell into a thorny bush tho." He said, glancing away and sidelong to his wing where the thorns were still tangled, bright hide scratched in a few places. "Was trying to get them off."

Actually, he'd been running about in surprise at the fact that a bush had seemingly attacked him, or so he'd thought at the time being. But he wasn't about to admit that to a strang mare. That'd be embaressing.

Pawing the ground, Indu eyed the thorny branch on his wing, considering trying to bite it off....or having to go get his father to help. But then he'd get yelled at. The thought made his ears flatten, forgetting all about the dazzling colored mare infront of him for the moment.

Until the wind kicked up, fluttering her silver tipped hair and catching his attention once again. "Ahh....Are you alright?" He asked suddenly, frowning a bit. He'd crashed into her rather hard, or hard for a colt his size. He didn't want to have hurt her because of his clumsyness.

Jeevita noticed the thorns on him. She gave a giggle. He sure was an interesting character. "I could help you get those off. It won't hurt." She offered. She'd had that problem before, and became really good at taking things out of her wings.

She raised an eyebrow, right he did run into her. She looked to the side that still had a slight tingle from the running into. Slightly redish in one slightly long scratch. No sign of blood at all. "Oh, No worries. Small scratches are nothing of a problem." She was slgihtly surprised that he totally missed her wing and hit right under it.

Though, it wasn't that strange, she was bigger then he. She smiled. "What are you doing out here all alone?" She asked still looking at the thorns on his wing. She didn't want to take them off unless he said she could. It'd be quite rude to do something like that if they where stubborn and wanted to do it himself.

"You could? Really?" He asked hopefully, ears perking up at the offer. then he wouldn't have to ask his dad to help...He'd only get angry about it. "Could you please?" He added, head dipping slightly before he looked back to her.

Studying her, Indu siddled closer and eyed her side, one ear slanting back. "I scratched you." He murmured as his eyes caught the reddening streak on her side, ears drooping slightly. "I didn't mean to." He mumbled, fidigiting in place.

Tail flicking, he shrugged. "'M not alone. Dad's out here somewhere. I just...went exploring without him." The colt said, glancing sideways in embaressment, pawing the ground. "Why are you out here alone. Do you have someone to protect you too?"

She smiled at the little one. She leaned forwords and tugged lightly on them. It seemed that one of them was in more then the feather. It'd hurt just a little to pull it out. She lifted up her head in one easy move, taking the thorn branches out of his feathers leaving just the one that was stuck.

"this one's going to hurt alittle, looks like it's slightly in your skin." She worned him. In a quick movement, she took it out as fast as she could. It seemed to be the best way to get them out. She looked at the wing to make sure it wouldn't bleed. "Looks like you'll be ok." she smerked.

Father? This was getting strange. "Father? Oh, he lives in here?" She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I was just coming to visit someone." She looked around for a second. "Well, I think I can take care of myself. If I need any help, I have my wings to help." She smiled as she looked back at him.

Stilling as the mare tugged the branches free, wing fluttering a bit as they were freed. Well, mostly free aside from the one thorn still there. Ears dipping at the warning, he wasn't able to stop the yelp that came from his mouth as it was pulled free. Siddling sideways away from her, he tucked his wing tightly against the sting. "Thank you." He murmured, voice just a bit strained, unused to pain.

"Mmmhmm. We both live here with father's crazy two-legger person." Indu grinned, tail flicking in sudden amusement. The two-legger was really quite strange and his father as always complaining. "Who're you comming to me-." He stopped mid-sentence as there was more crashing to the right, accompanied with his name.

"Indu! Indu! Where are you!" Rajiv shouted as he paced through the forest, worried and frightened that something had happened to the young colt. Kala would never let him hear the end of it if something did happen.

Continuing to call out Indu's name, the garnet stallion pushed his way through the bushes, head swiveling about as he searched.

He had a half moment to decide whether to hide or not, deciding against it. It just wasn't polite. "Dad! I'm right here." He said, snorting and pawing the ground as the larger stallion nearly ran up to him, face worried.

Spotting his son, he touched noses with the youngling before checking him over. "You worried me. Don't run off like that. You know there're things lurking in this forest that wouldn't mind a mid afternoon snack." He scolded, not even realizing Jeevita was standing there, his insistance at checking his son over taking priority.

"Daaad! I'm fine. Nothing happened and I met this really nice mare. She helped me get the thorns of-Eep!" He squeaked as he said that, head ducking in embaressment.

Rajiv blinked, ears flattening slightly as he eyed the yellow colt. "Thorns? Indu. You know you have to be careful." He said scoldingly, sighing before shaking his head. "Now, who've you been dragging into your mischief...." His last word trailed off, spotting the silver and blue alicorn standing there in the small clearing with them. "Jeevita!" He said, voice laced with surprise, ears perking up at the sight of his friend.

She couldn't help but have a very silly grin on her face as she reconized who had come into the picture. She held herself from grinning too much. She cleared her throat. "Well, Rajiv. I see you have gotten yourself into trouble." She caught the foals name as it was being yelled only moments before. Indu? It was a very nice name.

"Wow, I thought I knew those eyes." she said looking back at Indu. He was such a cute little foal. She looked back at him. She wanted to ask him some questions now, but that was no way to say hello to a old friend. " I was in the area, and thought I'd stop by. It's been a while since I'd seen my best friend." She said with a giggle.

She loved teasing him, though she didn't do it that bad this time. She didn't want to find out that it was a touchy subject. She didn't think the horns, wings or tail came from Rajiv, but she didn't know anything about his past. She looked back to the foal. " It looks like who I was looking for found me. Oh, you can call me Jeevita" She said sweetly to the young one.

"The only trouble I seem to have gotten into is having to chase this troublemaker around." The stallion snorted, giving a half grin and a shrug. "But it's not so bad....sometimes." Chuckling, Rajiv nudged Indu again, giving him one last check over.

"Daaad. I don't get into trouble that much." The young foal said, wings fluttering slightly, glancing up to give Jeevita a sideways look. He ducked his head again and blushed slightly at the comment about his eyes, backing up to hide slightly behind Rajiv.

Rolling his eyes, Rajiv gave a snort with a wider grin. "Oh sure. You just happened to get your horn stuck in that log." He chuckled, head tilting to glance at the colt.

"I was looking for a squirrel that had run in there." He muttered, pawing the ground and glancing to the blue mare infront of them. "Dad. You never told me you had friends." Indu murmured to the taller stallion, one eye watching Jeevita, looking amused.

Rajiv's ears flattened slightly, eyes narrowing. "I have too. Granted I don't have many. But I have mentioned Jeevita....Not that you listen to me like you should." He reminded the young colt, who had ducked his head in embaressment, blushing slightly. "So you were looking for me, hmm? Sorry I haven't been around to visit much. Keeping him out of trouble is a full time job until he gets older." He explained, watching the mare with a smile. "This is Indu..But then, you've already met." He chuckled, nudging the yellow colt next to him.

Indu shuffled his hooves, tail brushing the ground as he watched his dad and the blue mare, errr, Jeevita, talk. She didn't look anything like his mom, but she had a horn and wings like him. Maybe she could show him how these wings of his worked. They never seemed to work for him like he'd seen other Soquili's work for them.

She couldn't help but give a warm giggle as the two fought back and fourth. Indeed, they were father and son. She was very curious about the colors though. He was so bright. "Well, I dont' see how you can loose this little one, he's so bright and cute" She said

She noded. "As, I've never went around this part of the forrest much. Been busy myself." She said. She'd been heart broken and was slowly getting back to her normal self. Had she picked the right stallion, she wouldn't of had to worry about this at all. She wondered what Cristallin was up to. She hadn't seen him since the day she found out Lonatos had a family.

She gave a smile and looked to the little colt. "Have you learned to fly yet?" Sure that was a stupid question, but it was worth a shot. The little one would have to learn some how. She hardly used her wings, but they helped when she needed them the most. "If not, then sometime I could teach you. It's not that hard, it just takes alot of heart. "

"You'd be surprised how quickly he's learned to dissapear." He chuckled, tossing his head and shrugging. "Cute?...Sure. When he wants to be." Laughing again, he sighed and paced closed, studying Jeevita. "How've you been? I don't get out enough to even hear rumors." Rajiv said, grinning, but still looking kinda worried. She was looking a little down, even if it wasn't overly obvious.

Blinking, Indu glanced at Jeevita, shaking his head. "Nope. Haven't yet. Dad doesn't have wings and mom is busy with Ksapa." The colt explained, shaking his head again before looking hopeful. "You can?...You will really?" He asked, nearly bouncing out from behind Rajiv and around the blue mare. He'd get to fly! He calmed down slightly as Rajiv gave him a look, ears drooping. "If dad says I can." He added in a mumble, stopping his excited bouncing to stand next to Jeevita.

"I don't see why not. You'll have to learn eventually...But you'll have to be careful...And you'll have to give me news of the outside world while you're teaching him." Rajiv said the second part to Jeevita, eyes glinting in amusement. "Deal?....That is, if you have the time." He added hurriedly, pawing the ground.

Jeevita was kind of glad he didn't hear the rumars of her. They weren't really good. Or from what she's been told. She shruged. "Not too much. You know, just finding out some things that weren't very.... Pleasent." She stated her words carefully. There was no need to go back into the pain she had, she was better now... Happy, yes...

Looking back at Indu. "Of coures. It'll be fun. Plus, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun too." Hearing the other name, she figured that was Indu's sibling. "I'm sure you mother would love to see that you've learned to fly." She added.

She smiled. "Of course I have the time, and if I didn't, I'd make time." She laughed. She needed a break from other things, and well, this would give her good experinces to have later on. Exepcially if she wanted to start a family down the road.
