Tahupotiki had become incresingly anxious in the past few days. Temari had been active very oddly, which, in turn, was making her little 'carbon copy' act equaly out of place. Something just want right, and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She seemed... snappy, not quiet there, away. It was almost driving Tahu to tears that his mother was active in such a way.
Not even eating his bugs could calm him! That was quiet a first, and he was actualy losing some weight because of the stress. He couldn't help but think, was it his fault? He wasn't sure. But he knew he needed to calm down. He sat near his usual spot at the flat rock in the field, hoping that eating down a few bugs would calm his churning stumach, but it was to no avail. He looked about hopelessly.

Ryega moved about the dense forest that was the Mpinzani packlands. Jamaa had been keeping his duties as it was relatively safe. The little pup walked about very slowly, cautiously. His breath was short and his eyes were half closed. From time to time, he would tip one side and then quickly correct himself.
Where he was going, what he was trying to do, no on knew. He had been alone lately and it made him feel a bit lonesome. His father was away, his mother scent was different whenever she was near, Demani had been gone for some time....everything seemed so different. Even Agizo was nowhere around. His tail tucked between his legs. With one false step, he tipped to the right and fell onto his side with a bit of a yelp.

Tahu's ears twitched as the sound of the yelp came to him. Was... Was there Ryega?! He jumped from the rock and looked about, eyes wildly searching for his little brother. The lump of red that was Rye caught his eye and he quickly came to the side of the pup.
Purring loudly to let him know he was there, Tahupotiki nudged Ryega, licking him. The poor little thing seemed just as stressed as he was. Slowly, gently, Tahu took Rye in his jaws and lifted him from the ground. He carried his little brother to the rock and set him down on the smooth surface.
"Mrrroooprraggr." He said, as if the mumbling would help the little one. He nosed his brother sadly.

Ryega moaned a bit, curling a bit. His hind legs and tail curled against his tummy and chest, his paws over his muzzle and head. His nose poked free from the paws and sniffed.
"...Poki..."
He murred. He knew the scent, it was his brother Tahupotiki. At least there was someone around. Ryega let out a slight cough and curled against the male for warmth and for protection. His fur was wet with some sweat and his chest moved heavily with each breath. Some whines and whimpers echoed from inside the fur.

Seeing that Ryega was not well, Tahu's instincts took over. He pulled the little one closer to him and started to clean the sweat from his matted fur. Purring to calm Rye, Tahu watched over him protectivly.
It seemed that their family's whole world was crumbling right from under their paws. First, it was his only sister, then his will to speak, now his mother was acting strange, and he seemed to be going crazy as well. Poor Ryega was sick, to add the the damage, and was very weak.
Tahu mumbled to Ryega, trying to form some words for him, but nothing made any sence, formed any coherent sounds.

Ryega whined a bit, wiggling closer to Potiki, his body shivered now and again as the occasional cough would escape his maw. He knew he was ill for the longest time, but nothing seemed serious and so it was overlooked. It was only when he started to get dizzy and tired did he seek out someone. His father knew about it and set off to find Temari. Where was Demani? Were was Kiangazi? Where was Kianjahe and Agizo? Where was everyone? This was a pack right?
The pup murmured a few worlds under his paws as he curled upon himself. He needed someone to help him...his brother is only comforting, but it will not make him well again. However, he was appreciating the attention he was getting. At least he knows this one cared around him.
"Where....Dad..."

Tahu looked down at his brother helplessly. He didn't know where his dad was, he didn't know where Mom was either at the moment. He hadn't even seen his other siblings for the longest while! Everything really was falling apart. Ryega was sick. Mom was sick. Was Tahu getting sick too?
He nosed his brother again, hoping that the contact would soothe him just a bit. Tahu needed to find something that could help Ryega. Maybe some water? Yes, water would help! ... he hoped.
"Wwrrrattr." Tahu mumbled, in hopes that Rye could understand the broken word. He lifted his brother gently and moved him quickly out of the small field to the waterhole for the pack. Setting him down near the edge, he nudged him to the water.

Ryega wiggled a bit when Tahu poked him, the wet nose was comforting a bit...He heard him speak one of his broken words and then get picked up. Immediately he whimpered and whined, almost crying out like he did when he left his mother's womb.
When he as placed down again, his stuffed nose could make out the smell of water from the pack's water hole. He slowly moved up, wiggling a bit to stand straight. With two or three tipsy steps, he fell down to the water's edge. The red pup moved to the water's edge and lapped at the water slowly, taking it down.
It was not helping much.
He needed to cool down, his body was too hot. The fur was collecting sunlight making it hotter combined with his feverish temperature, it was murder in his own fur. He needed to cool off. Ryega whined and slipped himself into the water, his paws and head resting on the water's edge. His eyes remained close. He was still in pain.

Again, Tahu felt instinct take over. He gasped in some surprise and steped over his brother to block the sun. Lapping water over Rye slowly, he tried to distill the heat that was coming from the pup. Licking his brother's head, he realised that he was hotter then he had origionaly thought.
Tahu repositioned Ryega so that his face would not fall under the water, then continued to try and cool off the little one. He did what he could to cool him down, but was unsure if it was really helping at all.
Purring all the while, Tahu's anxiousness seemed to be rising. Things were just getting worse! WORSE! How could this happen?

Ryega whined a bit when Tahu licked at him, his breath was hot....Carefully, the pup lowered himself into the water and raised up again, water dripping from his fur. His body was cooling a bit, he could feel the drastic change in him and now the shivering became more frequent. However, it was not from the fear, but from teh cold.
Feeling a bit better, Ryega pulled himself from the water and curled under Tahu's, still wet. This way, the water that still clung to him would keep him cool for a while longer. The wild pup yawned a bit with a slight cough, it hurt, and curled against Tahu as far as he could. He was tired. Curling up he gave anotehr yawn before sprawling out. At least air can pass over all of him rather than just a part of him.
"...Tired..."

Tahu watched Ryega remove himself from the water. He layed himself next to him so that his shadow covered the little body. 'Tired'? Tahu was tired too. Stress took a big toll out of one's body, seemed that being sick did the same to little Rye. Maybe a little nap would make him better, make them both better?
He would wait till Rye was asleep, maybe longer then that. He didn't want his brother to... if Tahu fell asleep.... maybe he should take him back to the den? But he didn't want to hurt Ryega. Maybe staying here would be best, at least till Ryega felt a bit better. Tahu purred softly by his brother.

Ryega murred a bit and stretched out before relaxing. He was cooling down and now feeling so much better. His tail wagged a bit and then stopped as it made him even more tired. With another yawn, he moved to his brother and leaned against him, his ears pin back.
"...tired..."
He murmured once more before drifting off beside his brother.

Tahupotiki watched as Ryega fell asleep slowly. He seemed more content now, maybe all he really needed was some rest. Maybe thats all Tahu needed too. But Tahu was to worried about his family to even begin to try to sleep. He would be just as content watching over Rye to make sure he slept soundly through his nap, and nothing came to harm him. That would be fine for now.
He put his head on the ground and kept his eyes glued to Ryega. Anxiousness would keep him awake, as it had for the past few days.
