well, at least here... i get made fun of for being knowledgable on the concepts of anime, manga, video games, and other random japanese trivia a few people wouldnt know. well, none of them know yet that im a shonen/shojo-ai fan (or yaoi/yuri, whatever you wanna call it) and im sure that THAT would bring more discrimination, as pretty much everyone is a homophobe nowadays... well anyway, as i cant find the introductions thread if there is one (cut me some slack, its 10 minutes to 5 AM and i havent gone to sleep yet, im at my friends house on her computer) i guess think of this as my introduction XD thats all there is to me, a nerdy otaku who happens to look like a nerd too (big dorky glasses for horrible eyesight, always carrying around one book or another, no sense of fashion XD) or, if youre my sister, you think i look like a boy. which is fine with me, i couldnt care less. another thing that makes me a loser, apparently, but thas not my main thing here. my main question, is why are us otaku excluded?! and if its not the same everywhere, then i really resent being born into an area where there is such little exposure to culture that most cant pronounce "anime" let alone begin to comprehend it...

gonk so im a loser in the loser guild...? i thought you people would understand, its not about the fact that there are people of the same gender, its the fact that there are two people who are in love and love is a beautiful thing, why cant anyone see that? i mean really, if someone falls in love with someone of the same gender, theyre still human, they still have emotions it only means those emotions are directed at someone else! i cant believe how shallow you are to not see that... and i thought id be able to make friends in this guild... oh, but thanks Darth Monkey, i appreciate your words, i only wish others shared your views...

stare i hope you know ill never forgive you... but thanks, Confuseus57, im glad to know there are some people who don't judge... but Monkey-boy, you listen good. i dont watch it cuz its gay, its not in any respect "gay" if one assumes the word is used in the context most people use it in today. its more so about two people who are in love, rather than what their gender is. you should give a series like that a chance, y'know? i know for a fact that i thought it was the weirdest thing ever until i actually saw something that had a similar theme *pokes two guys in signature* yup, they make the sweetest couple ever. give things like that a chance instead of right off the ball saying its weird, you dont know that until youve given it a decent chance. then again, its that way of thinking that makes everyone think im so weird at school xd well, being open-minded isnt a bad thing so give it a shot

Yeah, I don't really judge what you're into. It's supposed to be our policy. And yes, otaku is considered a loser type. It's cool here though, but in the real world people don't like us. yeah exactly! whats said is half of them cant pronounce "anime"... its a very simple word, i dont know why its so hard to say. i think the reason they dont like it (around here at least) is cuz this is their theory: cool people hang out with friends ALL the time and never have time to do things like look into something from another country, so to be into anime, which is from japan, means you have too much time therefore no friends and are therefore a total loser. ... ...well, when your friends are into anime then they dont have no friends anymore XD i dont get whats so "bad" about it though... i mean, theres a series out there for everyone no matter what you like. seriously, i have friends whose parents have watched certain anime series with them and wound up really liking them!
