yip yip yip..... He stared at it. The small creature, the little fawn, as it gurgled and bleeted and..... he hoped it wouldn't make too much of a mess. Savhir was not a creature of dirt and filth. He was one of calculated descruction. He liked blood and flesh of prey strewn about his coat, but only if it was HIS way. And if it didn't leave too much of a mess. But now.....no, this thing better not get it's blood everywhere or Savhir would make sure that killing this pitiful creature would go slower then he had already planned.

yip........yip........ Briefly the giant wolf wondered how long a fawn would live without his hind legs, but this thought was only fleeting as right in the moment the creature rolled onto its side with a flop and merely died. So it took 37 breaths of leaving without its hind legs before it died. Not that this information was at all useful to the beta, only that it answered his previousl thought question.

In any case Savhir wasn't even hungry. The fawn had merely been in his way while he was traveling and so it had to pay the consequences.

Another day of travel, relentless on her heels. Rien wandered through the woods, unsure of exactly what she might encounter. The former alpha of lands long ago and far away was contented with wandering through the forests. She had constantly done so back in her old life, ruling over Bluebird Forest, so this was really no different.

The fresh scent of blood drew her attention in, pupils quickly dialating at the prospect of a kill and food. It had been a day or so since her last meal, and rabbits had been enough to survive, but she was ready for a hearty meal and this one smelled lovely. Her jaws parted into a light pant, drool evident on her lips as she turned her course towards the smell. Little did she know that an old friend of hers was hiding in the mask of blood.

Careening and weaving daintily between branches and bramble, she came to the spot where the kill was lain. Her eyes widened in astonishment, finding the deer somewhat dismembered, but barely touched. Then, her eyes switched focus and fell upon Savhir. An instant flare of anger rose in her, remembering their last... well... interesting encounter. She wasn't sure if she should be angry with him for coming into her life... or happy that he offered her companionship... the closest to a real mate she had ever been, as well as the best ... well... he was good at being a man.

She casually came from her hiding between the trees, her coat lending her protection against his eyes. Hers ticked over his body quickly, analyzing him. Secretly, deep within her she was checking for any brandings... though it wasn't ever official between them, she suddenly felt the urge to be sure she was the only one in his life.

Besides the deep smell of blood he had smelt something else. Decidely female, or so he imagined. Something familar. But the deep crimson mess was still stuck in his flaring nostrils so he couldn't adequately pinpoint the source of the smell. So he went back to his prey, or rather the show he had conjured up for himself.

"Poor wayward Fawn," he cooed to the dead thing. "Your folly was that you could not watch where you were going, and so in death is your lesson learned..."

He ticked his eyes over to the woods around him, it felt like something was nestled in the trees, maybe it wasn't. But one could never be certain for sure.

She listened to his lyrical mocking of the fawn's death, learning now that he chose to maim and leave the kill to rot and fester; food for the flies. Disgusting wretch of a wolf, she thought inwardly, though on the outside she was stone as usual. She came to the other side of the kill, watching him as he taunted and teased the dead thing.

"It can't hear you, Savhir, in case you were wondering." She said in an equally mocking tone, mimicking his own. A small smirk curled back her black lips as she watched him, wondering what he might do and adjusting her body so that she still held a relaxed yet slightly overbearing dominance to him.

"And how do you know what it can and cannot hear?" he asked, flexing his body into a sitting position. His large muscles jutting out from underneath the course fur without his knowledge or care. "He's dead....but just so, what says he still cannot hear. Perhaps his soul is listening in on us, hmm?"

With that he reared his head back and bellowed a great loud howl. After he called out, "Oh dearest Fawn, whether you be in death, decay or the afterlife, hear my howl! Hear it, and know that you died because you are as stupid as the days are long.."

Foolish. Foolish and arrogant were the only two adjectives she could really put in context with Savhir. She watched with idle disgust as he howled and spoke to the fawn as if it could hear. She was glad that it could not. If it could, it would be a shame to mock the death of another, especially since Savhir's kill served no practical purpose. Rien was, indeed, quite hungry and the sights and smells of fresh meat were causing her tongue to lol from her mouth occationally, lapping up the excess saliva.

"What now, oh handsome prince?" She asked in an equally uncaring voice. "Thou hast killed thine enemy, surely, but what of it's carcass? What of this show of mockery?" She waited silently, her hazel eyes scanning his body, taking silent notice to every gentle yet rugged curve, flashbacks of their night together all too clear in her memory. Each hair seemed to trigger another word or movement into her mind's eye, and she pushed them away grumpily, her tail swaying idly to one side.

He let a light shrug grace his shoulders before he got up onto all four paws. He stilled once, eyeing her as thought it was SHE that was the one that had just been slain instead of the fawn. His snout upturned in disgust and his eyes showing a spec of hindrance to her. But all the same he got up and moved just behind her, too close to be comfortable for the fem.

"Eat it," he whispered into her ear, letting each breath hit her fur as he spoke them. "Otherwise I'll hear your complaints on the morality of letting food go to waste."

A shudder of an unknown primal urge ran up her spine as he came near, recognizing that he was not close for comfort. Her hackles raised subtly and a slight growl rumbled deep in her chest. After a moment, it passed. The thought of allowing him to kill for her was disgusting, but she ignored it. She was hungry, her stomach was empty, and there was no denying it.

Gingerly, she slipped out from under his overbearing breath, brushing her back and tail under his chin as she did to return the favor of malicious teasing before ripping the soft skin from the fawn's side, teeth gnashing through muscle and tearing through veins from which unclottable blood poured, dirtying her muzzle and chest as she ate.

He watched her, eyes never leaving her form. It was a casual sort of glace, as if he was stuck between caring and not caring.

"You eat like an uncivilized brute," he said, flopping down on his belly as he watched. "You would think this wasn't so with all the nitpicking you do at me..."

She lifted her head from the now ripped into fawn just enough so that her chin was hovering over it's soft belly. Warm blood and gizzards clung to her lips and chin as she chewed the last mouthful, mulling over the words he had spoken. After a calculated pause, she licked her lips and chin clean and lifted her head completely, turning such that the two hazel beacons fell once again upon the red form.

"All wolves eat alike, you know that." She said, her words softly scolding, yet something else was buried in them. "Besides, I want to eat before it stiffens and spoils." She assumed the legs would be all but useless by the time she was finished with the innards of the deer.

"Well then I suppose I'm not much of a wolf, now am I?" he said, chuckling as he belly crawled over to her, "Because I certainly do not eat like that. You eat like someone's about to take your food away....hard, fast, with no cause...I on the other hand, " he smirked, "I eat like I have all thetime in the world. And so what if it stiffens and spoils? Our bellies are made to handle even the roughest meat.."

She shrugged his comments off, finishing off her fill of the fawn and then sinking back to her rump, licking her lips clean again. A small sigh escaped her as she gazed off into the distance. For several moments there was nothing at all running through her brain. Then, after those few moments of bliss, she seemingly straightened. What was she doing here? This made no sense to her. Here they were, sitting in silence, and she didn't even know what to think of him.

What was their relation? She couldn't grasp hold of exactly what it was. They had shared something intimate... had done the deed, so to say... but what else was there? Did that tie them down? Was she obligated to be with him.... or did she even want to? Her head was swimming with thoughts, and she laid it down over her paws, closing her eyes and sighing again, though this time much less than content.

He lay there on his side, his belly moving up and down slowly as his breathing waned off. When he finally did lift his head he had seen she had finished off the fawn and by the looks of it took more then what filled her belly. He couldn't help but smile at that thought. She had an inner beast within her, whether or not she admitted it, he knew.

Just like he knew other matters.

"You don't have to stay you know," he said quietly, flexing and stretching out his body to its fullest. "Leave any time you want, it's no cause to me.."

Ah, but she was unsure of that herself. She knew little more other than she'd been putting on some weight since she'd last seen Savhir, and also that she'd been hungrier. What usually sufficed for three days was barely covering 24 hours now. She was feeling strange, primal urges to be close to a male figure, to protect herself at all costs, to have someone else there to help protect her. She didn't understand why...

... and this coupled with the appearance of Savhir made her wonder.

"... Is that what you want?" she asked, after a pause that seemed like eons to her, though it spanned barely 10 seconds. And it was true, she really did want to know what he wanted. At this point, though she didn't really know what she was doing, she was ready to accept the fact that she just might be falling for the strange male.

Savhir turned his massive head to look at her, eyeing her while he thought over the question. Finally another shrug graced his shoulder. He could tell that she had been getting fat, but he assumed that it was no cause of his to care. She was probably just eating more then her share, she had already shown that. So instead he shook his head.

"I do not wish for you to go." He grinned a bit and chuckled, "I rather like your company, however if you do leave......well then.....I won't be howling cries of pain in your abscence either."
