Major let's-get-up-at-4-am-to-buy-a-new-flatscreen-tv shopping madness. All the stores open insanely early, and everything's on sale, and some things are on even-more-sale if you get there before noon, and shoppers engage in battles to the death over cheap electronics and shoes and stuff. 'Tis the official start of the holiday season.
I got a bunch of really cute sweaters. whee

It's also known as Black Friday, because the sales that day generally dictate how well a store is going to do over the holidays.
