No, I never have.

Besides, my family doesn't get along, and if they had to be together for 7 days, I think they'd kill each other, or at least beat the crap out of each other. sweatdrop

I never saw the point of Kwanzaa. I go to a predominatly white school and some of my fiends ask do I celebrate it. None of the black people I know or knew for that matter celebrate it. Even when I went to a black school noone clebrated it. We always said noone celebrates Kwanzaa.

my aunt always celebrates it every year and she tries to get the rest of the family to do it. my mom lights the 7 candles, but that's about it. i got all excited when they first started cos i thought i'd get 7 extra presents, but no...

it's just hard when people ask me to explain the holiday and i can't. it's like i failed at black culture or something... sweatdrop

Sorry if I offend but I never considered it a real holiday. I consider it a made up holiday.

It IS a made up holiday.

The guy who made it, Ron Karenga, even had This to say about it: "People think it's African, but it's not. I came up with Kwanzaa because black people wouldn't celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that's when a lot of Bloods were partying."
